Transiting through Richmond for one night stay, looking for a hotel with an open restaurant, the Westin's was. Very pleasant and enthusiastic welcome from front desk on check-in, room very quiet, and crucially during a brutal heat wave, equipped with strong air con. Hotel has the elements for a five-star review, but not there on this visit due to a few issues. Housekeeping left behind a used coffee packet in the coffeemaker (gross!), and did not leave a fresh regular coffee packet - provided by front desk with no problem. Sort of inexplicable in a hotel of this class that there was not a single usb port in the room, not at the desk, or in the lamps, or through the radio. Hampton Inns have USB ports, they are not an amenity, they are like plumbing and lighting, should be standard. Another pet peeve, the coffee maker is not plugged in, and located on top of a bureau where the cord could not possibly reach an available socket. Had to transport the coffee maker into the bathroom to find an available socket. Why place it somewhere it can't actually be deployed? Restaurant was open, with a single staffer doing duty as hostess, waitress, and bartender... Totally unfair to her, but she was doing a great job keeping up. Ate at the bar to minimize service footprint. Had the crabcakes, which were really marred by excessive saltiness. Vegetables even saltier, practically inedible -- I don't think the chef could have been tasting as he/she worked. All in all though, under COVID conditions, the stay was a good experience with the absolute potential to be great if the kinks get worked out.

I have stayed at this hotel twice in the past week, and this place is great. Rooms are top-notch, restaurant food is great, and front desk folks are awesome. The cons? NONE! They take care of their guests and appreciate the business. Platinum and titanium guests are treated as they value us with going above and beyond any hotel that I've been to. Walker at the front desk is great, but Matthew W...he could be teaching a hospitality course in college. He's the bomb!!!

Great place! Loved the stay. Had breakfast at the restaurant there and had the best service. Our server Kim was absolutely on her game, really friendly and made sure we were taken care of. When Im back into town I’m definitely staying again. 😁

Recent reviews have painted a less than attractive picture of this hotel. I think they simply wanted something for nothing a submitted a bad review when the hotel politely refused. I am a professional business traveller (100+ days per year) and utilize 12 total hotels (different brands) nationwide booking conference rooms for specialized meetings and training on a weekly basis. I grade hotel properties on five areas: my room, bar/restaurant, conference room, customer service and billing. My Room: 4 of 5 - a good clean room, plenty of usb ports - one at the desk and one by the bed with multiple connections. fair wi-fi at the room level, room was clean and reasonably appointed Bar/restaurant: 4 of 5 - the restaurant is very good. My meal was a grilled salmon on a Cobb salad - excellent. The food service provided for our conference and training has been excellent - hot fresh food, very good, coffee and tea service very good, breakfast snack and granola bars - good. We have specifically contracted for the food service and we are getting a good value for the money. The Bar is a 3 of 5. The bar apparently has been closed for some time and therefore doesn't have the stock I would like (I am a bourbon snob). It will take time for them to rebuild their inventory so for the time being the grade is lower. Billing and accounting: 5 of 5. Our account is billed and reconciled in a quick and correct manner Conference room: 5 of 5. This is easily the #1 choice of the the 12 total hotels we utilize on a weekly basis nationwide. The wi-fi is outstanding, the room is clean, well lighted and comfortable. We have very specific requirements for the training and for our client's COVID requirements. The Westin has supported and helped up meet those requirements which are over and above the current national expectations. Customer Service: 5 of 5. The staff is attentive to our needs, supportive of our requests and quick to respond to any issue. I would highly recommend this hotel for an overnight stay or and extended stay will conference room use. They will provide whatever you need.

Glorified motel masquerading as four star Westin hotel, lacking any notable amenities. Drab, dated rooms, none of which even offer a bath. No breakfast room service (!?). No baggage assistance. No valet parking. Not even so much as a bottle of water in the room. Junky Timex bedside clock from the 90s was completely dead. No USB ports anywhere. Very bizarre and not compelling location in a giant patchwork of hideous office buildings and massive asphalt parking lots echoing with traffic noise from the immediately adjacent highway. Absolutely nothing else nearby and barely any landscaping. Building completely surrounded by asphalt. Even the little crappy store in the lobby was out of stock of half the items. No mention of Covid anywhere apart from one or two tiny pieces of paper printed out from the CDC. No apparent or reported extra effort to sanitize rooms. Disappointing and I regret being obligated to come to this dumpy town and this fake four star motel in an abandoned suburban parking lot. Thanks for making my stressful trip even more lackluster.
