As per the other reviews. Smelly reception, rude staff... Upon checking in we decided to give it 2nd chance and walk round to the pool... all broken beds and filthy floors.. junkies hanging around wrapping and throwing up hand signals trying to intimidate guests.. called reception for some security, over 5 times in 20mins to for them to not pick up! Walked to reception and KERRY was looking at the phone ringing! With not a care in the world for why it was ringing.. So your saftey is not guaranteed while staying here. Upon asking to be assisted. He said he will call the police and he was scared of the junkies outside also.. still spitting bubbles and go knows what else over the pool fence! With this we requested to check out and a refund! ( had been there 48mins) for Kerry to ask us to leave the room immediately... not giving us the chance to use the internet to make a further booking... horrendous behaviour from a hotel manager... Shambles of a hotel and filthy! Avoid at all costs if you want to feel safe! I will await my refund that should take max 5 days or seek a lawyer!

We checked into the hotel after a day at Kings Dominion. It wasn’t looking good straight away as the corridors smelled strongly of smoke and looked very worn. The hotel is pet friendly but you don’t expect to see someone walking out of their room with a bag of dog mess! When we got to our room we put our bags on the bed and a beetle ran out from under the covers. We captured it, took it to reception and asked to be moved to another room. No apology was given or any kind of concern was expressed. We moved to another room where we found no beetles but dirty sheets, a bin that hadn’t been emptied and a wet, dirty towel on a shelf. It was clear that the room hadn’t been cleaned to a very high standard, if at all. As we walked back to reception we saw another beetle on the wall. We asked for a refund and were given it but again there was no apology or remorse shown by the staff on the front desk.

Check in person walked away part way through, I started to walk away and someone else called me back as they felt I had not completed the check-in(I had not). Only 1 key given to 2 guests. The stairs (no elevator) and halls were filthy and looked as if they had not been vacuumed for weeks, the room had been vacuumed. Desk chair had upholstery ripped in many places. The coffee maker did not work - when I reported it I was told they did not have a replacement but if I wished I could walk downstairs to the lobby for a coffee. The microwave was missing 1 leg and so wobbled. I had brought some teabags so tried to make a cup of tea in the microwave. Kleenex box empty. We are Wyndham rewards customers and this hotel was VERY disappointing.

I did one of the last minutes deals with a decent price and ended up here. I was thinking that quality inns are on the upper level of the lower rated hotels. I was wrong. When I got to my room, they had put me in a smoking room. It didn’t smell great but when I turned on the AC to circulate the air, the nastiest smell came out. I went back to the desk and switched rooms. The 2nd room smelled a thousand times better until I turned on the AC. It wasn’t nearly as bad as the first room, but they really need to clean out their ventilation system! I went to Walmart next door and got dry sheets to put into the vents. It helped but did not get rid of the smell. Next I noticed that the room had not been thoroughly cleaned. The beds were ok, but I immediately look off the top duvet sheet since they were stained. The duvets underneath and sheets were fine. The carpet had some stuff stuck to it while the tile had white dusty stuff and hair. The shower had hair and mildew as well. There was also a water leak on the floor in the bathroom, not sure where it was coming from. The other big issue I had was the Wi-Fi. It was spotty at best, but I couldn’t get my laptop to connect and therefore was unable to work from the hotel—which was necessary during my stay. (My sprint cell phone also had spotty service at the hotel.) Lastly, this was not the hotels fault but was a miserable experience, the fire alarm went off at around 10pm. After it was turned off, it went off 3 more times. My daughter was a crying, exhausted wreck afterwards. I can assure you that you will not sleep through that alarm. It is piercingly loud.
