Just returned from a nine night stay at the Grand Hotel Corallaro and it certainly exceeded our expectations. We do quite a bit of research before we travel so knew exactly the type of place this is, its location and services. We had a economy room with balcony. Ok not the best view overlooking car park but we are not the sort of people who stay in the room anyway - and why would you when you have a fantastic roof terrace, a lovely pool and fantastic beach within steps. The room was, as was the whole hotel, absolutely spotless. Big shout out to the cleaning staff. Despite being by the car park the room was so quiet, wonderful blackout doors and very efficient aircon - we slept very well on the comfortable bed. Shower was top notch Breakfast was better than most other places we have stayed in with a wide choice. I have no complaints at all. We didn't eat at hotel but would spend a few days lounging around the pool and ordering drinks. I am not going to say anything else about Santa Teresa Gallura - this is a review of the hotel after all and I dont understand other reviews that have not understood this by talking about other places. Suffice to say we loved the ambience, atmosphere and friendliness of STG and Hotel Corallaro complimented the whole experience superbly. Finally BUT most importantly, as many others have mentioned we can not leave a review without mentioning the staff at the Hotel. They were all so friendly, courteous and helpful. Their total professionalism should be used as an example of how to do it correctly - and the UK could do with the help. ALL staff were wonderful but I must mention a few who we had the privilege to meet over our stay. Francesco and Aksana were always smiling and there to take orders or be at hand. Loredana - you are an absolute star and you work so hard without losing your smile. Finally Antonio - a real gentleman and would have been the go to person if we needed anything. Thank you all for showing so much patience with my often awful attempts to improve my Italian. Grazie mille a tutti e tanto amore dalla strana coppia del Galles. Tanto amore. XX…
Arrived here for the second leg of our Sardinia holiday after spending the first half of the week in the south of the island. The location is good as you’re a few minutes walk from the centre of Santa Teresa Di Gallura. We were pleasantly surprised to receive an upgrade, to a family room (we were told the room was larger) but unfortunately situated directly above reception, with all the noise associated of suitcases rolling over the tiled floor and check ins at all times of day/night, so we’re a bit puzzled why we were located there as a couple! Also coach engines running right outside our window very early in the mornings. The bed was comfortable and the room clean enough, being a family room it was a little rough around the edges. The hotel was quite busy with coach tours and we were looking for some peace and quiet. There were also strict rules about times to use the pool, which are too restrictive if you’re heading out for the day (as we did each day as the hotel itself isn’t really large enough to spend long time periods at). The robot which cleans the pool goes in at 6.30pm and doesn’t come out until 9.30am, and was later than that most mornings. The breakfast buffet had good choice but the quality was lacking, as was the chef’s desire to please. Fruit options were unimaginative as whole pieces of fruit or tinned fruit (in the Mediterranean??) I found it quite tricky to cut up a whole orange to eat without a chopping board! We found all the staff friendly, especially the bar and serving staff. We chose to eat out in town and want to mention a couple of places we really enjoyed. Over three nights we had pre-dinner cocktails at Hotel Moresco, who really impressed us with their friendliness and hospitality we even treated ourselves to dinner there one evening, pricey but the food was incredible! The cocktails were the best value we found in Sardinia. We also ate twice at Il Grottino, which we found to be incredible value for traditional Italian food. The hotel is minutes away from the local beach, Rena Bianca, but we had a car so found better beaches within a 20 minute drive. We liked Naracu Nieddu but there’s so many to choose from. Also Capo Testa is worth a visit, for the views.…
Beautifully yards away from Rena Bianca beach the Grand Hotel Corallaro is a delightful choice! From our arrival to departure after a 1 week holiday in Sardinia, (we were first time visitors) the staff couldn’t do enough for you. The bar staff, Francisco and Antonio were always on hand to help and they make a mean Cuba Libre and Virgin Sardinian Mojito! The friendly reception team, Giovanni, Nicholas and Ellen were really helpful and resourceful in helping me track and chase the baggage claim team at Olbia airport when my luggage didn’t arrive Sardinia on time. If it’s taxi or restaurant reservations you need, the team are always on hand to help. The grand hotel Corallaro is cleaned every day, spacious with free car parking facilities, great value for money and close to the centre of town and proximity to one of the best beaches is Sardinia. I would recommend anyone to stay at this hotel whether you’re a first time or repeat visitor to the Island. You’ll be glad you did. We plan to return again soon.…
Fantastic location, super clean property, but most importantly absolutely brilliant and super hospitable staff. Hats off to Elen, Giovanni, Veronica, Simone, Antonello, Francesco and Antonio - and all their colleagues. You all are brilliant!
Maybe because I was there for nine days the staff got to know me, but I have to say the staff and Karine were wonderful to me. Karine, thank you for talking with me on the 4th, you were a blessing to me that day. So kind, friendly, and helpful, always with smiles. They took my attempts speaking Italian good naturally and spoke excellent English. My room had French doors and a balcony. With all the warnings tourists receive about security and such imagine my surprise to see the French doors wide open to let in sun and breeze. Although there was a safe, I never needed to use it. I actually felt comfortable leaving my room for the day with the French doors open. Oh, and most nights I slept with the doors open. There were a few days the breeze was blowing from the other direction, and it was warm and humid, that I turned on the air conditioner. It had a quiet mode, so even I could sleep with it on at night and it did not disturb me. Breakfast was served each morning along with smiles from the staff who were ever so attentive. Especially clicked with Carina, who had this wonderful greeting and lovely smile each morning, and a young man, whose name I did not get, who was enthusiastically serving. I had dinner in the restaurant three times, and the food was really very good. Again, served by people who seemed to take delight in their work. One night I just asked for a plate of fruit, it was beautifully plated. The most important thing to me is a clean and comfortable bed. I can say I had no back pain from the bed. There are lots of places to hang out in the lobby, a sun deck between the second and third floors with a spectacular view, and pool area. I swam in the pool one day, and it was clean and refreshing, especially with the humidity. By the way, did I mention it was humid? But, one of the nice things, the doors are open, so when you walk in you are not hit with cold, damp air conditioning. It is my hope that some day I will return to Hotel Corallaro. It truly felt comfortable, welcoming, and almost home. Also, don't be concerned about music from other venues you can hear. They stop playing at a reasonable hour. The nights I kept the French doors open it was quiet and I slept just fine Oh, and if you should stay here, make sure you use the toilets downstairs. I have should have taken a picture, but as you walk down the hall lights in a bubbling aquarium tank come on, the lighting is very pretty, there is a fountain in the ladies room, there is a small toilet for toddlers. It is always interesting to use the bathrooms in other countries, and this was one of the most interesting I have come across.…
Great and friendly service!!! Precious help at the reception to help organizing and choose good restautants. Breakfast is below our expectation. Cold place and plastic tray. Few choices, no fresh juices. Very clean. Rooms ok without any charme. Nice view and great location with parking
Stayed here for only one night and the check in was fine but the place is hard to find. The room was okay but smelled a little off. Maybe it was the sea air but it was off putting. The breakfast was pretty awful with big jugs of instant coffee (at least it tasted like instant.). For the price it just wasn’t worth it. The town vibe didn’t help either as the restaurants and merchants were decidedly unfriendly. Hotel staff was very nice though
This was our 1st stop on our 11 night trip in Sardinia and we were so happy with our decision. We opted for a non sea view room which was perfect for our needs - we liked having a private outdoor patio right off of our bedroom. Our room was spacious and clean with lots of room, a good sized bathroom and a comfy bed. Hotel reception was super friendly and the housekeeping staff seemed to worked tirelessly to maintain pristine conditions both inside and outside. The pool was a welcome oasis after spending the day at the beach or out and about exploring. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful with lots of options for everyone. We took lots of walks and even made it to Capo Testa on the well marked side trails - highly recommend for anyone looking for a good 2 hour walk (we took a taxi back). Santa Teresa was a fun spot for 4 nights and the location of this hotel was unbeatable for access to the beach. We spent the rest of our vacation in Bosa (1 night), Pula (3 nights), Cagliari (3 nights). We flew into Olbia and out of Cagliari.…
Great Hotel with extra friendly stuff! Good location, nice swimming pool! Great place to discover north Sardinia! The small town is also walking distance, with nice restaurants , shops... Perfect hotel for one week stay!
This hotel was our first stop on our honeymoon and we could not have been more pleased with our stay. The staff was phenomenal and made you feel like family. The restaurant was phenomenal, each night for dinner a new and delicious meal was served. The facilities are always clean and well kept. We highly recommend the deluxe sea view suite as the views are spectacular. The close proximity to the Rena Bianca was in our opinion better than some of the beaches off la maddelena. Enjoy a cocktail smeraldina made by Christian by the pool after a long day at the beach. Salvatore was also very helpful at the front desk. We are on our way to Rome which will have a lot to live up to. We are going to miss them!
