We have been staying at the Hotel Flamingo Resort for several years, and again this year we are fully satisfied! I state that I have viewed several extremely negative reviews and honestly I think they are the result of a non-existent experience, therefore aimed at discrediting the hotel. We were very impressed by the complex where our room is located, called “The Nests”, as it is located in a unique and magnificent position, which offers a wonderful glimpse of the vegetation, full of colorful flowers, which help to enrich the already fantastic environment. In addition, from it you can quickly reach both the restaurants and the beach; in this regard, I can only emphasize how it can be reached directly from the paths of the structure, which is absolutely not obvious. The umbrellas are optimally arranged, the volleyball court does not create disturbance as it is located at a fair distance from the umbrellas and the canopy. This year, moreover, access to the sea is facilitated as there is a vast "strip" of sand that is perfect for those who want to take a walk in the water! As for the restaurant, it did not disappoint our expectations; (There are two restaurants: the “Wild Duck”, slightly away from the Resort center and the restaurant “I Coralli”, which is in a more central location. We ate at the first of the two). The dishes we ate were delicious, but perhaps quality over quantity was preferred. The waiters are extremely friendly and very competent, in fact they carefully observe the room so they can pick up and deliver the various dishes as quickly as possible. In addition, the restaurant is located in a very suggestive environment, (such as “I Nidi”), where you can eat outdoors under a porch, thus having the opportunity to observe the beautiful flowers that surround the restaurant. In the main structure of the hotel there is a large reception area, as well as a bar that offers a beautiful view of the central swimming pool, which can absolutely be defined as large and clean. There is also a wellness center, as well as a very convenient and useful parking for those who rent a car. Another detail that struck me particularly is the presence of a medium-sized tennis court, perfect for those who are passionate about this sport as it has recently been renovated and at the reception you can request for free everything you need to play comfortably and in complete safety. However, I regret to point out that the wi-fi, although it is working and has improved compared to previous years, does not always work regularly. Special thanks to Marco, (direction), Ubaldo, (Booking), Alessandro,Daniele and Marina, (Bar), Roberto, (beach), Manolo, (reception), Gianna, (room maid), Federico and Sergio and Enrica, (respectively Maitre and waiters at the restaurant “Wild Duck”). As for the animation instead, a special thanks goes to Pietro and Cristina. Circulating the wonderful park, we could only leave a special mention to Edin, (the gardener).

We are disappointed with a hotel that is not 4☆ but barely 3☆. Wild Duck restaurant very poorly run, untrained staff is rembroiled by the maitre d' during the meal! Very low quality food is served cold (including fried) buffet resoundingly modest and fogged because prepared too much in advance, when it finishes a dish will not be renewed... and at 21 out everyone! Decent breakfast. Immense rooms at the NESTS discreetly clean with bathrooms reminiscent of the pensions of Cesenatico in the "60s, all broken down with towels the size of a napkin. Excellent air conditioning and WIFI.
Extras have costs from Costa Smeralda! Very nice beach very expensive services (they are all in the pool and under the shelters included in the price) and even here poor friendliness and... at 19 closes! Everybody home!

Great location! The beach is very close to the Resort and this is a very favorable point for the structure! The Resort is surrounded by nature...it has multiple play areas for children and three restaurants, one of which is à la carte. The pool is very large and allows all customers to swim quietly.
The sore points are the cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms, the excessive water prices and the buffet of side dishes and desserts in the dinner. We are talking about a Resort and as such services should be high.

The hall looks very good, but then falls into absolute delirium. Rooms with 1960s bathtub/shower, restaurant at lunchtime at company canteen level, breakfast within the limits of what is acceptable for those without pretensions, dinner served at the table choosing from a menu with two first courses and two second courses, served by waiters who seem to wander from a table at the other, very low level. Lunch in the restaurant in the pine forest. Poor level!! Restaurant in an unused area left to total decay!!! The beach should be the strong point of this hotel but it's a shame that the sea is impassable with stones that risk breaking your leg if you enter the sea! Too bad this detail isn't described anywhere. The cost of this hotel is very high for what they offer you. Water and wine for a fee, both for lunch and dinner, not to mention anything you can get at the bar to sell out even just for a coffee! Paid beach in whichever row you stand, paid beach towel from the first one and every face you can think of to change it.
What can I say, thank goodness we only stayed for 4 days and it's a shame that we paid for a high level structure that isn't! We paid for the beach, beach towel, lunch etc... and then found ourselves going elsewhere to experience the real Sardinian sea.
Dear owners, you should look beyond the lobby desk and see how many people are unhappy!
I don't recommend it to anyone.

Horrible Service
The employees do not speak English in general or with some exceptions it seems that they only want to receive local Italian tourism.
Day 1 we arrived late, we had paid for a Suite room for 5, two adults and three children aged 7, 5 and 1 year old. They tell us that the baby is not in the reserve. We answer yes and they insist no, well we are not looking for blame, we are simply looking for a solution. They can bring us a crib for the baby. First answer is not that I sleep with you in bed. Answer: We decide that, not you, you have cribs available. Yes, but I don't know if it fits in the room. Sorry, it's the Suite for 5. Oh okay, we'll send you one.
They're laughing at me we think.
Next mistake, they don't explain it to us, the hotel doesn't give us a map of the resort, dinner closes at 9pm! We can't have dinner anymore but they have something cold for us. Well, not bad, we go to the restaurant and to our surprise they have nothing prepared for us and we wait 15 minutes standing while reception and restaurant argue, in the end they give us the dishes of other customers who have not arrived. We thought they would do more but they didn't turn off all the lights other reservations didn't have the cold cuts for dinner.
Day two, we asked at reception for beach towels again. There is no say, wait here and they will bring them. But I understood that while they were talking to each other in English, they didn't want to tell me and they were surprised because I understood them in Italian! Of course I'm Spanish, I understand something, well, more lies.
Of course the towels did not arrive with more complaints and he gave us shower towels.
Day 3 all day outside the hotel the best day in Sardinia
Day 4 we go to the beach at the hotels guys, I talk to the lifeguard about the hammock that you have to pay for even though they are from the hotel and the chairs are free…
Let's go to the water! How strange no one bathes and when we go in another guest warns us there are jellyfish! Jellyfish? How can it be that the lifeguard sees me with two children and doesn't tell me anything, I get zero warnings and a white flag for the bathroom! White flag with jellyfish? I ask the lifeguard, annoyed because he didn't warn me about the jellyfish, of course he doesn't understand me in English.
In short, a poorly managed hotel

It would have so much potential. It presents itself very well, with well-kept and clean environments. Beautiful green areas. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice rooms. Good beach service and good bar service, nice spa. It's a shame that all this is ruined by terrible catering service. Extremely basic breakfast, city b&b level. Company canteen lunch. You could opt for the paid restaurant by the pool, but the menu is really banal and not very varied. Dinner in the only restaurant open as a hospice due to the menu and the opening hours (strictly from 7.30pm to 9pm, under penalty of fasting). Animation practically non-existent. To make a long story short, there is no trace of Sardinia except in the truly astronomical price for which one expects a certain level of quality but which clashes with what one actually encounters and which is unjustifiable with the location of the hotel alone. hotel. A stay in an RSA would have been cheaper and more satisfying. Too bad, really.

First thing: know that the beach is sandy BUT to enter the sea there are rocks and pebbles and it is not always possible to access easily!!!!
Paid umbrella and sunbed service (but this is specified) and well-spaced umbrellas.
The cuisine is poor, dishes almost always served barely lukewarm, very mediocre quality, certainly not 4 star
Buffet breakfast with mostly industrial products (cakes and biscuits, freshly heated frozen croissants, single-portion hero jams...) and on August 15th no bread!!! The baker was closed 😂😂😂
Rooms in the Nests: comfortable, spacious room, large wardrobes and well-functioning air conditioning. We had a large terrace (which was never swept by the cleaning lady....) BUT the bathroom was nothing short of a 2 star pension. Bathtub with hand shower from the 60s, water leaks, rickety toilet seat...
Conclusion: NEVER AGAIN

I went as a couple to the Flamingo in Pula in early October 2023.
The location is on the sea but access to it is impossible due to large rocks and stones which make bathing dangerous and forced us to rent a car to move to other beaches. But this is not specified either on the hotel website or elsewhere.
During the period of our holiday, this structure was stormed by numerous groups participating in various conferences who literally monopolized the attention of all the hotel staff to the detriment of other guests like us.
We paid a not cheap list price (also given the end of the season) for a full board which at midday consisted of an outdoor lunch with an embarrassing menu not even worthy of a canteen, while in the evening dinner was served in an internal room with a slightly more refined menu; in both circumstances it was evident that the best treatment reserved for the "congress participants" was evident, as they could freely access, unlike us who were forbidden, the various buffets dedicated to them with all-you-can-eat sweets and fruit, side dishes and much more: very unpleasant at the same time hotel.
When I asked for explanations on the matter, I was literally insulted by the senior waiter who rudely and arrogantly even invited me not to be too demanding and to eat pasta and tomato. Paradoxical to read "pasta with clams" on the menu and, apart from the first day, not to have been able to eat them for the rest of our holiday because, according to the same waiter, they were no longer available; it's a shame that this dish was served punctually without problems and before our eyes at the various "congress participants" ... and, in front of my protests, the same "gentleman" always replied that I certainly couldn't expect to eat spaghetti with clams all the days. But maybe he decided what I should eat????????
Furthermore, in the hotel car park which had an uneven surface, I had a disastrous fall which ruined my entire holiday due to the related physical and also moral consequences (obvious swelling on my face which forced me to always wear, even evening, sunglasses!).
I was unable to speak to the hotel manager, even having asked; I was only able to express all my disappointment at reception.
At the end of the holiday I sent a written complaint to the hotel manager, reporting both the shameful behavior of the waiter mentioned above and the unfortunate incident that happened to me, but, to date, no one has sent me any feedback.
Our experience at the Flamingo was terrible and we will certainly not return to this hotel again.

Hotel with direct beach access. Lots of rocks in the waterline, so getting into the water is difficult.
Booked with half board...however only used 2x, as the food is really inedible. (We were not alone in our opinion)
Horrendous drink prices at the bar and restaurant.
Breakfast buffet style, but the same every day. Always cheese, salami, scrambled eggs, cereal, white bread, croissants, jam, honey and cake.
Unfriendly, annoyed and incompetent staff.
Hotel room ok and clean, however, it often smells like looake in the complex. (Were accommodated in a Bungalow).
Car rental is advantageous as the hotel is pretty much outside. We have visited beautiful coves and beaches and small towns with our rental car. (But book this better from home, this is much cheaper)
Pool is large and clean. Loungers by the pool free of charge and always ample available, on the beach you have to go for the 1st and 2nd. Row 20,00€ per day pay. 3. Row free, but only equipped with uncomfortable deck chairs. In my eyes, rip-off.
Evening program often live music, not nice but extremely loud. Entertainment at the bar not possible, wg. the loud music
The nearest bigger place is Pula, nice little town with lots of great restaurants at reasonable prices.
You can get there and back from the hotel by bus, but you are very tied to departure times.
Tourist tax 3,00€ per person/day.
Sardinia again and again, just not in this hotel!

We spent 2 weeks there with our children aged 2 and 5 in a very large suite. The room was really good, quiet, clean with a large terrace. Cleaning was done every day by very competent and friendly employees. Our children loved the swimming pool and we were also able to enjoy the beach and the sea. We never paid for places on the beach (there are chairs available for free too) because it was easy to get there. get there from the swimming pool. It is true that the idea of paying for deckchairs on the private beach of the hotel in which we paid for our stay by a few thousand euros displeased us massively. The young girls who looked after the children and the young man who gave the sports lessons were adorable, polite, committed, they were the best employees in the hotel.
The rest of the service staff were unfriendly, and sometimes even unpleasant. They were never able to answer our questions and referred us to another person who did the same. We were supposed to have breakfast at the "wild duck" where we were served exactly the same thing for 2 weeks. There was little choice, especially in fruits (in summer in Italy!!!). The staff was disorganized, there was a lot of waiting for dishes/food to be handed out (no matter what time you came) and there was little quantity. The infrastructure gave us satisfaction but the quality of service and breakfast was well below what we expected for the price paid.
The hotel is off-center and you either have to rent a car or take the bus to Pula. For small purchases, there is the campsite next door which sells water at a reasonable price, not like at the hotel. We felt like it was all about money to be taken from tourists for the hotel. It was too obvious and we didn't like it.

Do you have to book in the restaurants or is it just turn up?
Answer from Jiri477

No booking for I Coralli restaurant required, that is correct. And the other exclusive restaurant called Wild Duck we were told is in the evening just for Suite I NIDI and Suites with sea view that is the second part of the hotel area. Actually, there were several private events in this restaurant during our stay - an after-wedding party with life music. I would say that is why booking may not work for this place.

Hello Barbara The sun beds on the beach aren't not free. You must pay. But they have some sun loungers, they're free. And, bring beach shoes to the beach, because there are a lot of stones. Have a good time.
