We rested at the hotel in the summer in July. We were very pleased. The hotel has a family-friendly environment. The hotel is small. The rooms are located in two-story buildings among the pine trees. We settled into a luxurious two-room Suite with a huge balcony. In the evenings we loved to sit with a glass of wine on the balcony admiring the view and breathing the fresh air. The hotel has a small, but clean and comfortable beach. The beach is very nearby. To get to the beach you have to go down a small staircase (about 20 steps). We walked along the beach in one and in the other direction. Our beach is the best among the beaches of other hotels. There is fine sand, gently sloping entrance to the sea. And there's absolutely garbage and seaweed as the beach watch and clean every day. I would also like to mention delicious food at the restaurant. I advise you to take Breakfast, lunch, dinner, because around the hotel you will not find cafes and restaurants. We especially liked the dinners! The tables were set outside on the terrace overlooking the sea. The view is amazing! A 5-minute walk from the hotel there is a supermarket. There you can buy everything you need: food, drinks. The prices are quite low. At the hotel we met a girl named Natalia. She works at the hotel, carries tourists on individual excursions. Natalia has a large and varied range of tours. It can also be the route taking into account your wishes. Most importantly it's inexpensive! Recommend this hotel for a quiet relaxing holiday.

Official rating of this hotel is four-star. In fact, it can be rated as two-star hotel. Maybe, maybe two-star plus, but with "closed eyes". This hotel is suitable for low-cost clients. Everywhere you can see that the hotel has the best behind it. The out-door swimming pool is unusable, the cleaning of the hotel beach is weak. The only thing that can be evaluated positively is cuisine, but servis is very very slow and unprofessional. Unfortunately the beach location is in the area where the sea current brings algae and other mess. Very nice and clean beach is approx. 500 meters from the hotel, but there two sunbeds and a one parasol costs 25 EUR per day (in August).

Accommodation is average. Service is average. Swimming pool out of order. Part of the hotel is under reconstruction, so maybe in the future it could be better. There is really nice beach, but aprox. 30 steps down and on the beach just 40 meters left is wonderfull restaurant with delicious meals (much better food than hotel offered). Definitely must go there and try. Lifeguard on duty on the beach. Some shopping is available aprox. 300 meters by the main road, but in September it was closed. Rent a car and go via coast road to Chia and Porto Pino, there are beautiful beaches on this way.

Is a nice hotel overlooking the beautiful sandy beach, only 30 steps down. New barcavela is immersed in a large garden with centenary Pine trees you can breathe a healthy salubre aroma of local bush combined with marine air, ideal for who live all year in City center full of smog and pollution. Good quality food, daily fresh and with several variants, served at table. Hotel Just needs refreshing works and maintenance, but value is really higher than reasonable prices applied. Excellent quality of sleep. Romantic and friendly hotel.

I stayed at the hotel for three nights. It was a friendly place and very quiet which was great to relax in. The proximity to the beach was excellent! Internet access isn't great as it's only in communal areas, but if you're there to relax then that shouldn't be an issue.

New Barcavela is a nice hotel right at the beautiful sandy beach, it has a large garden with high trees and a pleasant shade. The rooms are well equiped, spacy, with a nice balcony, but the bathroom isn´t in a very good shape. Little bit old and not renovated. But you have everything you need here for your holiday. The rooms are daily perfectly cleaned. The real highligt of the hotel are its owners. We really had an exclusive care. They are very friendly. Nothing is a problem. And the way they cook! Each dinner was just fantastic. We could taste the wide spectrum of the local cuisine, fresh fish and sea food and many more. A real gourmet holiday!

Stayed here at the beginning of the season in early June, very quite, had the whole pool to ourselves most days. You have your own section of the beach with sunbeds and umbrellas, which when we stayed were free, however they started to charge on our last two days, which I found a cheek. The entrance to the hotel was disappointing and was not 4 star. The immediate surrounding area does not have much to offer in the way of shops or bars either, however the beach and sea are beautiful. All in all, it was a quiet location with not many facilities, but very relaxing and beautiful.

When we arrived at the hotel we had a nice escort to our room, which we thought was very nice, until we realized the reason for this: the lights didn't work on the outside of the rooms so it wasn't possible to see anything. They didn't get the lights working for three more nights. The hotel is quite old, and you can feel it. The showers are tiny and cramped. When I called before we left to ask if my wife should bring a hairdryer, the woman told me "Yes, because the ones in the rooms usually don't work". The pool is okay with a fun waterslide but also very old. Maybe we just haven't spent much time on beach holidays in Italy, but I was very shocked to see that the pool was only open from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00. We had half board so we tried to make it back each day in time for dinner, but the quality of the food didn't warrant it. The only problem with not having half board is that the closet restaurant/cafe is almost 1km away. When we came up from the beach around 15:00 one day and wanted to get something to eat, the hotel restaurant turned us away explaining that lunch is only from 13:30 to 14:30. This, coupled with very poor overall service and an extremely low level of English by all staff at the hotel, made it difficult to order or explain anything we wanted. The "private" roped-off beach was very nice, and the hose available for guests to rinse off after being in the sea was a welcome surprise. Overall the hotel was not that bad, if we would have expected a basic 3 star hotel. Instead we were expecting the 4 stars claimed in the brochures and internet and thus we were a bit surprised.
