I don't know how I've lived in Austin all these years and never heard of this place... it's a hidden gem! Our expectations were fairly low considering it's a zoo out in the middle of no where. We did the tour as soon as we arrived and loved it. The tour guide was informative and there were so many unique...

We're glad you were able to stop by for a visit - getting that close interaction with all the animals is one of the main things that we feel makes it fun for people of all ages, so we love seeing when this holds true with families like yours!

This is located about 45 minutes from south Austin very easy to find. Admission typical for this type adventure. A large variety of animals easy to feed them along the 45 minute covered trail wagon course. Natural habitats appear to be maintained. SeverL petting zoo areas which was fun large buckets of food for purchase to feed animals limited visitor...

Hi Jacqueline, Thanks for your review and we hope you'll be one of our regular visitors from Austin! We've included more souvenirs since completing our gift-shop remodel. We're also finishing up more remodeling in the rear of the gift shop and we've actually redone one of the rest-room areas in the front gift shop area as well (the main one...

We stayed in the Ostrich Nest in May, 2016. We appreciated very much the wheelchair accessible accommodations at the Exotic Resort Zoo. Our cabin was wheelchair accessible, the recreation area (pool table) was also. The tram ride through the resort to see and feed the animals was also w/c accessible. The cedar cabin was really cute with some custom touches....

Hi Susie, Sounds like y'all had a blast and enjoyed the unique aspects of staying in one of the Safari Cabins! They are intended to provide a 'gla-mping' experience (glamorous camping) where you can be right in the middle of the action with all the animals. Bring some friends next time and we'll work to earn a 5-rating from you!

Party of 8 stayed a night at the facility and did the tour. Kids loved it. Only complaint, for the type of facility it was, is that the beds were a tad uncomfortable, but overall a great time. Our second visit. Staff very friendly.

Hello, thanks for the review and glad the kids enjoyed it! We're guessing you stayed in Cabin 3, since you had a party of (8)? We know beds can be a personal preference area, but we have tried to include some different bedding (comforters, pillows) that should hopefully make it more comfortable for you next time. It's also great to...

Stayed in one of the cabins they have for rent at the ranch (Bear Cabin). The cabin is nice and roomy with a separate bedroom. Our cabin was right behind the kangaroo pen and it was fun watching them. Nice pool with waterfall. Petting zoo accessible any time with a wide range of animals. Playground for kids. Pool table for...

Hi Jonathan - Thanks for the review and highlights of your stay with us! The included guided safari tour for paid cabin guests is something that not everyone is aware of before they arrive, so thanks for pointing it out! We also try to get the word out that there are tons of outdoor cooking options, starting with our large...

As an animal activist, I am torn about going to zoos of any kind. Since this one has so much property, and the animals are mainly deer, ostriches, a few zebras, three buffalo, and lots of goats, I said "OK", let's go! My little grandkids just loved getting up close and personal from the trailer pulled by a tractor. It...

Hello, sorry for the delay in responding, as we just claimed this 2nd listing to actively engage with our customer base that reviewed this part of the attraction. This property ID is actually for our safari cabins vs. the tours, but I'll try to address your questions here (I'm guessing you will be notified of this response). As far as...

We loved the way animals were let go with good care and freedom, they are well trained and you they come to you when you feed them. My kids really loved, the maintenance was okay too. It rained during my stay but overall experience has been memorable. Will definitely recommend.

Thanks for the review and we hope you'll visit again soon when there is better weather! Many of the animals have been born from bottle-raised parents and they are extremely comfortable with people, so this is definitely one area that we feel sets us apart from other animal parks.

My wife and I took the tour recently (we were staying elsewhere) and thoroughly enjoyed it. We didn't have any grand kids with us so I dispensed the food ($6 for a large bucket, about 1.5 to 2 gallons or so) to the animals and had fun doing it. This experience riding in the tram (wagon pulled by a tractor)...
