This is my go to place to UNwind............I love to come here when I have a lot of work to do, such as writing. The grounds are so incredibly peaceful . I love the sounds of the chickens and the goats. And we must not forget the best hostess of the property "Einstein", the dog, he greets me with so much love! Kristin, the owner, is always so accommodating and takes pride in each room. She knows which cottage is "my cottage". She cares and it shows. If you need a short staycation or coming from miles away, The Crossroads is a MUST ................!

We just returned from a two night stay at Crossroads Inn. We were very disappointed especially after reading the glowing reviews of other people. First, the room was dirty. I noticed our shoes were making noise and sticking to the tile floor. I took off my shoes and my feet stuck to the floor as I walked. The next morning when I showered dirt swirled from my feet. I took a damp washcloth and scooted it across the floor with my foot. It was filthy. I kept wiping the floor until we could walk without sticking. The area rug was also dirty. Next, the fan/light in the small bedroom only worked when the light was on. The pulls on the light/fan did not turn off the light or fan when wall switch was on. We had 4 keurig pods when we arrived and used three on our first morning. We noticed the towels were replaced when we came back to the room that evening so we knew someone had "refreshed" the room. The beds were not made but that was OK. Sadly we did not realize until morning that the keurig pods were not refreshed. We only had one pod for us to use. I tried going to the main house to get a couple more but had no response from the caretaker. It was early, 7:30am, but she said to contact her 24/7 for anything we may need. And one last thing, we wanted ice for our drinks but the property only has an individual ice maker in the main house and she had just used most of it for her own drink. She told us to go to the mini mart for ice. Sorry but for $200/night I expected more services. This property has so much potential. It needs some serious elbow grease and deep cleaning, some sweeping and yard work and it would be a lovely place to stay. Just needs work! I hate leaving a negative review. This is my first. The proprietor was very friendly but the overall customer service was sorely lacking. Just thought other people who want to stay here would appreciate our perspective before they book.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us, we certainly wish we would have had the opportunity to address your concerns while you were here. This guest never complained about anything during her stay. We are known for our clean rooms and have hundreds of terrific reviews highlighting our cleanliness, including top ratings on TripAdvisor, Airbnb, Expedia and Hotels.com. We have an outstanding professional cleaning service that thoroughly vacuums the area rugs with commercial-grade machines and mops the tile floors between every guest. We would have happily mopped the floor a second time had this guest asked. We are also sorry to hear that four Keurig coffee pods were not enough for this guest. Again, we would have been happy to bring this guest more coffee had she called the main number of the inn and asked. We are following up with our cleaning service as to why they would refresh the room without making the bed. Usually that happens when a guest has left items on the bed and the cleaning staff feels that the guest might not like those items moved. We provide a small ice machine for guests which accommodates about four drinks at a time; the machine refreshes itself every 15 minutes. For guests who want to make multiple cocktails in their room we ask that they purchase a bag of ice for about $2 at the 24-hour shop across the street and keep the ice in the freezer provided in their room. Reviews, both positive and negative, are an important part of our operation as they guide us in keeping the things that work well and inform us of areas where we need to improve. Thank you again for taking the time to send us your feedback.

My family and I were traveling to Fredericksburg when our car began to have engine trouble. So there we were, Dad, Mom, three kids, a dog and two hamsters on the side of the road, on a Sunday evening. We made several calls to shops and road side assistance without any luck. Then we decided to call the local hotels to see if someone had a shuttle service that could pick us up. When we called Crossroads Inn, Kristin, answered and was extremely understanding and did her best to offer assistance. When we arrived, we were surprised at how charming the facility was and it seemed so peaceful. Kristin showed us a very nice cottage that could accommodate our group. The cottage had a living room, little kitchen area, and a nice size bedroom with a King bed. There was a separate room for the kiddos and a large bathroom. We had a microwave, fridge, tv and coffee maker. We were very impressed that the décor and amenities were very thoughtful. The cottage designed to target all the comforts of home but without all of the worries, which was just what we needed. That was pretty much our experience after we walked onto the property. Knowing our situation, Kristin drove to pick up dinner for us so everyone could have something to eat. She additionally offered to help us with calling mechanics for our vehicle and getting us breakfast the next day. We are so appreciative with how much care we were given at the Crossroads Inn. They went above and beyond, Our family is so grateful for such a fantastic experience. We would definitely recommend Crossroads Inn to anyone!

My friend and I had a girls trip there and loved the Crossroads Inn. Kristen was so nice and the place was adorable. I loved all the animals and the setting. The location was great. It was a short drive to Fredericksburg and all the wineries. The wild animal zoo in Johnson City was awesome.

My husband and I were extremely pleased while staying two nights at the Inn. Impeccable cleanliness, which is extremely important to us. Loved walking the grounds and visiting the goats and chickens - even their living quarters were perfectly clean! I even remarked what beautiful chickens they were. Kristin is the perfect hostess and I always enjoyed chatting with her... Can't wait to bring back our girls, the son-in-law, and two grand blessings!

We initially planned to stay in Fredericksburg, but once we saw the pricing and availability we started looking for alternatives nearby. Lucky for us this little gem tucked away in Johnson City was the ideal getaway. Kristin is an attentive and caring host. The property is a unique sampling of country living, with goats, chickens, butterflies…and her rescue dog and cat. We will book again next time we’re in the Hill Country. It’s a relaxing stay and easy drive to Fredericksburg. Highly recommended.

Kristin the owner goes out of her way to make sure you are happy. The cottage I stayed in was the Lavender cottage that I highly recommend. If you have a dog or need an extra bed for your party this cottage is very comfortable. The large king size bed is one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in, I didn't want to get out of it. ;-) The whole place is very homey and cozy. The feel of being on a farm with chickens running around the property which made it a cool experience. I was only there for one night but if I could I would have extended my stay just to have another night in heaven (Best Comfy Bed)... This Inn is very close to all the wineries like Ron Yates, William & Chris, Vino Vium there all about 8 to 10 minute drive from Crossroads Inn. Spicewood winery is the farthest one I traveled to which only took me 20 minutes. The only thing that I wish Kristin would offer for future is veteran discount. It certainly would not be a deal breaker for me but it would be nice. I highly recommend you staying at this Inn while visiting Johnson City. I will be back for another stay soon. Thank you Kristin for your hospitality and taking good care of your customer's as though we were family. Melanie
