This resort is a bit of an enigma. When you look close enough there is plenty to moan about. The wifi-signal is rubbish and seems only to work (somewhat) outside your room, the bathrooms are not very clean and are more or less falling apart, the beds are not that great (although we’ve had worse in Italy), there are no comfy cushions in the outside furniture on your terrace, the pool has idiotic closing/opening hours and so on, and so on… But then again, much can be forgiven. Breakfast is excellent (albeit there is no fresh orange juice) and eggs are cooked to order. For dinner you have a choice of two restaurants, one of which is -very romantically- located at the resort’s private little harbour. Staff throughout the hotel are very friendly and they go out of their way to make sure your every whim is catered for. The views over the bay of Marinella are beautiful and the gardens are luscious, immaculately kept and a joy to look at. This place is not cheap, but there are many similar resorts in this neck of the woods that easily charge you double the amount you pay here. Make sure you have a room with sea-view though! Then go sit on your private patio, have a drink and watch all the little boats and mega-yachts float by. Bliss! Disliked · Quite a number of things unfortunately: Wifi-connection is of poor quality, the rooms and bathrooms could definitely do with an upgrade, and are not kept very clean. Daily maid service is a quick in- and out job. Make up the bed, provide clean towels, a quick sweep with a broom and hey presto, the room is clean again (don’t look under the bed though, and certainly don’t inspect all the different nooks and crannies in the bathroom). The decision to shut down the swimming pool between the hours of 1 pm and 3.30 pm is baffling. Service at the restaurant was immaculate for three nights in a row, but on the 4th night it was Murphy’s Law all round. Beware! There is a lot of climbing to do, to get to and from your room. The whole place is filled with steps and stairs, so anyone less mobile could be facing a bit of a challenge.

Dinner and Breakfast were just amazing. The incredible variety and quality of meals were over every expectation. I had the chance to try Sardinian tipical food, such a great experience! My room's view, at the top of the hill, was stunning, feeling like I could jump directly into the sea, moreover the room was comfortable and quiet. The swimming pool area and the bar area were very well organised and you can actually admire the sea from the swimming pool...just amazing. All staff were absolutely lovely and kind. An amazing experience in Sardegna.

We arrived for the second leg of our honeymoon following an amazing stay in a 4 star hotel on the Amalfi coast. The sense of doom set in when driving down and google maps stating “you’ve arrived at your destination.” We both thought surely there’s a mistake. Surely not, we had arrived at the correct hotel and the four star expectations were ripped from us before turning the motor off. Check in was fine. Welcome drink was provided and bags were taken to our room. The room was small, dark and our euro power adapter didn’t fit in the wall. This was fixed by staff who had a spare adapter specifically for the island. We were still unsatisfied with the room, lack of wifi which would drop in and the general facilities provided by the hotel. We asked for a refund which was denied. Staff seem really friendly but lacked experience in handling some of the concerns we had. They would always have to leave to consult their manager who was in an office. I thought it would have been better if the manager came to deal with the problem at hand to demonstrate to the staff how things should be dealt with rather than tell them what to do and avoid the customer. After we expressed our concerns about the room and facilities as being dated and not what we were expecting we were upgraded to a selection of their best rooms. We stayed one night and thought they tried their best at meeting our expectations. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and the food was tasty. The menu though was confusing and there was a 3euro service charge per person if you just wanted the buffet. We thought this was a money grab as with the buffet, you collect all that food yourself. The menu prices were to that of a 4 star hotel but the service and experience was not at all. Felt more like a food court with staff who with disinterested or interested with little experience. We complained again the second day and finally had the option for a refund on remaining days. This was music to our ears and we were so fast out of there. In the end the staff really tried to help us be happy guests so I have to give them credit but the hotel itself is so dated and is located very far from any other township. You have to drive anywhere to get out of there. The place is so isolating and the rooms need a huge styling overhaul. The wifi is so bad it’s basically not in existence. This hotel would be better off running the business as 3 stars and drop their prices to match. At least the clientele who would be looking for that price point wouldn’t be disappointed.
