First, when landed in Cagliari on the Thursday afternoon, we didn’t find our luggages - lost in Brussels or didn’t follow us in Roma ... Anyway, after a long search with the luggage attendant in Cagliari, we took the shuttle and arrived at 10 p.m. at the ArbataxPark Our hostess, Simona, in charge that evening for the cottage department tried to comfort us about our luggages - also, we had no clothes with us : situation was quite critical After the first night, she called the airport to find a solution, and after a while, she learned the first one was found back and could arrive to Cagliari on the Saturday, but the search engine of the airport was still looking for the second one On Saturday afternoon, the first luggage was arrived to ArbataxPark (about 2 hours from the airport) Simona tried many times to contact the “lost and found desk” without result Again on the Sunday morning, no answer ‘till 3 p.m., where the second luggage has suddenly appeared My conclusions : the Belgian airport was overloaded and couldn’t face the work The Italian aviation company didn’t fail The “lost and found desk” from Cagliari (Sardegna, Italy) made everything possible to find back our luggages - but its weekend and there is less people to answer the phone The in-charge hostess from the ArbataxPark Cottage, Simona, was more than helpful ; her kindness and professionalism were really helpful to begin our 2 weeks vacation in a dream place For the rest of our stay at ArbataxPark, we did hire a car to be more independent But, we didn’t know the park was so giant !! We could spend several weeks without leaving the park : beaches, creeks, swimming pools, restaurants, bars, animations for kids and everyone, excursions, small Italian village, animal department (not really a zoo), spa and wellness : (nearly) everything is possible There is even a “cabrio” bus to help you moving trough the park (distances are sometimes really great) I have to thank and congratulate 2 persons (even if more people deserve it) : Simona at the Cottage Reception and the Sagara Restaurant’s boss Thank you all ! We won’t ever forget you 😊👍

I was nervous after reading some negative reviews, but this resort is really wonderful! We stayed in the cottage section with 2 connecting rooms--one for our 3 kids. We went the last week of June with a multi-generation group. Everyone really enjoyed themselves and it worked out perfectly to have breakfast and dinner together, with everyone doing what they wanted on their own for lunch. The beaches were beautiful, the relax pool was wonderful. There were plenty of chairs to lounge around all day. It was forced relaxation basically and we enjoyed every moment. I thought the food was really good. We had the half board option and enjoyed the dinners immensly. The breakfast was good, but was the same every day. In the morning there is a worker there making custom expresso and cappuccino included with your breakfast! Plenty of seafood at dinner, but lots of other options too. Good wine (included) at dinner. My son only went to the kids club once, but it is nice that you can have your child occupied for a few hours in the morning and/or afternoon. I was nervous about not having a car, but it turns out that you don't really need it. We took a taxi into the town one day and it was underwhelming and not really worth it. Otherwise the resort is setup so you can just stay and relax. My only compaing about our stay was the shuttle service from the airport. We had to wait 3 1/2 hours upon arriving and were brought to the airport almost 4 hours before our flight out! There was no choice of what shuttle you could take. So, the resort really needs better options for transportation. It was so, so frustrating to have such long days of travel due to the shuttle service. All in all, a very special place to visit. I recommend the Cottage section because you are so close to the beach, but the other sections all looked lovely as well. Outstanding staff who didn't seek tips but were very grateful if you thought of them.

We spent 4 nights at this resort and unfortunately experienced terrible weather which influences our review- however regardless I think the negatives outweigh the positives and overall our experience was poor. To start with some positives the food was acceptable, the animal park entertained our toddler and Dune beach was pretty if very small- I can’t imagine how you can visit in high season. Unfortunately our room (710) was incredibly basic and uncomfortable, it was dark and dingy and the 2 small windows opened onto walls. The toiletries provided seemed to include glittery fake tan in place of shower gel and was cheap and tacky. It was cold at night, but the extra blanket in the cupboard clearly had never been washed so I chose to sleep cold with the sheet rather than have it near me. The room was nothing like the advertised pictures which are very misleading. And this was apparently an upgrade! We could not get any WiFi reception in our room, and had to go to the reception areas to get any, which we needed to try and book somewhere else as we wanted to leave early- however the reception areas were inundated with mosquitoes and it was too difficult to plan our escape! The pools and poolside areas were dirty- however I accept the rain probably contributed to this. But there was a run down feel about the place. My daughter left her sandals by the pool and by the next day they must have been thrown away by the staff as no one had handed them in. And I doubt anyone would steal a 2 year olds rain-sodden sandals. The location is bizarre- through an industrial looking port and then within a residential area. The resort has designated parking areas and guests are not permitted to take cars to the room areas- which would imply it is car free. However the staff drive throughout the room areas and at times quite fast- so there was no safe place for our toddler to run around. To get anywhere on the site you need to wait 20 minutes for a bus- impractical in pouring rain. This is clearly not a great place to stay in bad weather because you have to go outside to get anywhere (to breakfast, reception etc) but there were no umbrellas provided and when we asked they didn’t have any to loan us. There are also no indoor activities (such as pool or table tennis) to entertain us when it was too wet to play tennis or visit the beach. We subsequently moved to a 4 star hotel, paying less than the £700 we paid to stay at Arbatax for 4 nights half board, and it was wonderful- but highlighted just how awful the rooms at Arbatax were. Unfortunately I really would not recommend this place unless it dropped its star rating and price.

We stayed in a cottage classic room, which was large. The bed was comfortable and the room clean and tidy. Only one English TV channel and there is only so much news you can watch, so take a book! Beaches were small, lots of rocks, but plenty of swimming pools and sports facilities, a lot like Center Parcs but with sea and sun. The quality of the food was excellent, breakfast was either continental or English, evening meals were a choice of pasta, risotto, several fish dishes, a roast meat and something fresh cooked on the grill, as well as lots of cold meats, cheeses, salads, great puddings and plenty of fresh fruit. As we didn't have kids we didn't try the sports facilities or kids clubs, but we did try the bars, and the cocktails were lovely and very reasonable, and two days they had a totally free bar!!!
