Very picturesque views. Good service overall. Minutes walk from the Museum of Science and Cambridge Side Mall. Close to the Green Line. Safe area. Lots of construction going on in close proximity to the hotel at the moment. A great choice away from the city of Boston, yet near enough to it.

Hotel's Favorite
Stayed at this hotel for a few days both this August and last. We have children that love the city skyline so we booked the river view rooms both years, and honestly, the view can’t be beat, it’s amazing. Location is a 5 minute walk to the Museum of Science and Duck Boats. You can get to Boston Common or Quincy Market by foot or subway in about 25 minutes. My kids didn’t mind the walk at all as it’s mostly flat and shaded in most parts. Indoor pool is fun after a long day exploring. New for this year was one side of the pool is now open air to an outdoor sitting area, and we found it to be a pleasant addition for sure. We also had wonderful experiences with the front desk staff both times. Customer service here is just excellent. During our stay this year, our plans changed last minute and we needed to add an extra night on. The room we were staying in was promised as part of a room block so we had to change rooms for our extra night. Kaley at the desk went above and beyond to make the move seamless and ensure the room/view were to our satisfaction. The interaction with all the staff just really sets the tone for a positive stay/experience. We look forward to returning!

Terrible experience. Our family of 4 with 2 young children traveled from CA - Boston arriving at midnight after a long travel day. We had booked a room with 2 queen beds, but the hotel had just 1 room left, with 1 bed. They did not have a pull out bed, a roll away, even a mattress to put on the floor. They suggested my kids sleep on the hard floor and offered to see what they could provide. After calling the front desk twice, someone came to our room with two pillows and a few sheets. Additionally, the room was next to a storage closet and elevator sounded like a freight train all night. They said come by in the morning to review a refund. The next day, they offered a complimentary breakfast, and suggested we called to follow up. When we went to the restaurant, they said they could not seat us because they were understaffed. I have contacted my credit card company and hotel. They are not owning up to anything or trying to make it right. I held off on writing a review, hoping the hotel would make it right, but they are saying they did their part by offering a free breakfast. I have never written a negative review, but I have also never had such an awful experience with customer service to match.

Last night was so scary for me as a woman. I had flown in to Boston early Saturday and was supposed to fly out Sunday evening. I spent Saturday night at this establishment and because I’m pregnant waited until my flight was to take off. In the meantime I have no care because my bank will not fix the issue until Monday morning. I’m literally working with cashapp and my husbands card he’s sent to my phone. I realize that’s an issue at a hotel but when my wallet was stolen while on the road in the past, the hotel helped me out and worked around using his card. Instead of allowing me to sit SAFELY on their couch in the lobby until I could figure out what to do. At almost midnight last night, the two women at the front desk sent not one but TWO security guards over to me to kick me out on to the street and told me which hotel to walk to. So here I am cold, scared and pregnant walking 10 minutes to another room! Thank God for them. They gave me the idea of adding my husbands card to my cashapp and I used my cashapp card to rent a room until today. I will never stay with the royal sonesta again.

Stayed at this hotel for a couple nights and it was excellent. Located right on the river and across the road from a shopping centre. Big clean rooms, good gym and pool! The staff at this hotel were so nice. Would definitely stay here again and would definitely recommend!

The hotel itself is nicely up kept. Our room was very clean. Good view of the canal & bridge. The bathroom & shower was very small. There’s a large wall in closet, which I was like I’d rather have the bathroom space. The garage is very difficult to park in & the elevators in the garage were not working for our stay. The nights we stayed were a little over priced but it was also a sold out weekend. Nice location. Would stay again.

The Bed was so comfortable, the pillows were just right ,the staff was so helpful . Nice clean warm pool ,there is no free breakfast but there was a restaurant right on site that makes meals . The 2 women in the restaurant were so happy to help us and were so pleasant to talk with .There is a parking garage for your car for a fee ,but the guy there was so pleasant . I would definitely stay here again

We have stayed at this hotel many years and this year it was clear how much this hotel has gone downhill. The elevators in the garage AND the hotel were out of order. We waited over half an hour to check in, the parking garage was full. They would not answer their phone at all. my mother with a broken back had to walk up six flights of stairs. The front desk response was "sorry we are very busy". they charge a "destination fee" to use the pool and gym. We will never stay here again.

Rooms have seen their best days. However, the view to Boston was quite impressive. The lobby is quite nice, mostly because of nice art. Breakfast was tasty with a good selection. Location is not good.

We had an excellent stay at the Royal Sonesta Boston last month, thanks to the great service from Mr. Luis Gonzalez. He was very attentive, friendly and helpful throughout our visit. He made sure we had everything we needed and gave us some useful tips on what to see and do in the city. We really appreciated his professionalism and kindness. We would highly recommend this hotel and Mr. Smith to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Boston.
