Rooms are not bad, but the hotel is very disorganized. The reception staff seems flustered and unsure of their jobs. After I checked in and had settled in for a nap, I received a call from the front desk asking me if I could come down with my bags and move to another room! I declined, seeing as how I...

My family stayed here on its opening weekend since the remodel. They have some kinks to work out, but the staff was hardworking, the rooms clean and comfortable. It was a good location for us; a 5-10 minute drive to Tufts University (same distance to MIT or Harvard). The Alewife T-station is a mile away. We ate breakfast at the...

We stayed here because we wanted a hotel with a truly wheelchair accessible room. Often a hotel will advertise an accessible room but when you get inside it is cramped, has a totally inaccessible tub shower, and beds that are ridiculously high. Our room at the Freepoint was very roomy-- we could have maneuvered two wheelchairs instead of the one...

Actually we stayed twice in this hotel in 2 weeks. The first time we checked in, the receptionist having trouble looking our reservation, and it took sometimes until they finally found our reservation. Overall room was clean, but no complimentary water at all. You have to pay $4 for a bottle of water. The hotel provided shuttle bus to Harvard...

The Freepoint was modern and beautiful. The rooms were spacious and clean. The bar/resto was great. It's a super nice hotel at a below super hotel price....because it's in north Cambridge off the highway in a biz complex. If being a bit off the beaten bath is fine with you - it's walking to an L stop - then I...

Used to be a Best Western Plus Hotel Tria. Two years later, the decor is all re-done, no included breakfast (which wasn't good anyway), and parking has gone up to $16, which is kind of ridiculous for an open, uncovered, unguarded lot. Rates were outrageous everywhere and this was still in the high 200's for one night which is way...

If you've ever watched Kitchen Nightmares where Gordon Ramsay renovates 60%-80% of a failing restaurant - this "new" Freepoint hotel is very much like that. I stayed in late April and they said they've 100% switched over, no more old rooms. You walk in, you can smell the newness, like literally, I'm not sure if strong new paint smell is...

The room and bed are very nice. The service also turned out to be very kind and helpful. The disadvantage is that now you are required to pay for everything and everything is pretty expensive. For example the water bottle in the room is for 4$... The walls are very thin and you here you neighbors too well... I gave...

Front desk could not find our reservation. They blamed it on merging 2 computer reservation systems. When they finally found it and they insisted on charging us again after we had pre-paid for the room. We found our payment on our online banking system and then they miraculously found our pre-payment in their system. They couldn't check the system before...

Good hotel not too far from the Alewife T stop. I stay here twice in consecutive weeks as it was close to where I needed to be for a meeting in Belmont. There is really nothing spectacular about the area and there a few if any good restaurants nearby. The hotel itself is newly renovated and it looks great! The...
