We chose the Kendall Hotel for a quick staycation in Cambridge. We live in Western Mass and just like to get away to the city every so often. We have tried a number of the hotels in the area, but believe we have found our new home in the city.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms and made to feel like we were part of the family. The staff here seems to really care and they do go above and beyond to ensure you have a wonderful stay.

We also liked the idea that the hotel had a convenient parking garage right under the hotel The spaces are tight, but the price beats most hotels in the city and it is extremely convenient.

We really enjoyed the room as it was cozy and unique. Definitely not the typical cookie cutter hotel room that is found in the more modern hotels. The hotel is an old firehouse and there are all kinds of goodies to look at throughout the lobby and public areas.

Dinner in the restaurant was a very pleasant experience. The menu has a variety of interesting items that all sounded tasty. Food was plentiful and reasonably priced. Service was very friendly and attentive.

The complimentary breakfast in the morning was much more than we had expected. From hot items to unique pastries, they seemed to have all the bases covered.

We were very pleased with out stay and we will certainly be back to the Kendall on our next visit to the city.

I am a frequent traveler to Boston/Cambridge and this boutique hotel is my go to hotel. And it keeps getting better. I found the place about 12 years ago and since then, they have made so many upgrades inside that each stay gets better and now, I won’t consider staying elsewhere. The beds are amazing. Rooms are large and while they have every upscale amenity you would expect in a high end hotel, they have something no other hotels have - an amazing staff - all are now familiar as they don’t leave so whoever runs it, understands how to manage the staff - it’s very unique, just like the hotel. Another big plus for me, The rooms also have sound proof windows that actually open. The hotel has a small restaurant in the lobby, and like the hotel part, the food has improved and is incredibly fresh and delicious. Thank you to my Kendall family for making this place my 2nd home.

The entire staff and experience at the Kendall Hotel is what one hopes for at a big 'luxury' brand hotel. They do everything they can to accommodate your wishes from clean and quiet rooms (they have an extra sound deadening window in all rooms), a simple yet wonderful breakfast, coffee (crucial) and help at every turn. The rooms are always in great shape and when something isn't right, you just need to text their service and voila! Here they come to make something to your liking. Parking is right underneath the hotel and access to MIT is right next door and Harvard a short drive. Kendall Square and all its innovation is right outside your door. Plenty of food and drink options both at the hotel and nearby. The rates are fantastic for this area and I can't really think of a downside. I used to stay at the Marriott across the way but the local feel of this hotel is really incredible while not sacrificing quality. It's a boutique hotel with the amenities and service of a big chain. And you'll never hear them tell you 'it's not something we have' it's always - we'll see what we can do and then ta-da they deliver.

Brenda runs a great place and I will only use this hotel going forward.

The place and rooms are impeccably clean, roomy, and comfortable. So we loved the accommodations. My only issues are with the booking. On this trip we chose this accommodation based on price and features. We tried to call and get a bit more information, however the phone number takes you to a useless phone message that continues to direct you to their website. Over a 2-day period we were unable to talk to a real person and ask questions. In the end, we got surprised by a $45 charge to park our car. And the included free breakfast consisted of apples and some rather useless cold Covid-safe things. Upon check-out, we hung out for quite some time and waited for an attendant just to get a receipt and to check out. No one ever showed up, so we pushed our keys under the glass, and off we went.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience on TripAdvisor. I am very sorry we did not meet your expectations. While we are very excited about recently reopening, working under pandemic guidelines has been a challenge. The hotel has spent a lot of time and resources on the property. I realize I will need to refocus my energy on ensuring our staff provides a warm, responsive, and engaging environment to our hotel guests. I hope you will consider staying with us again. Thank you for your understanding. My best, Brenda p.s about parking, we are currently running a promotion when reserving a room through the hotel's website -- parking is included -- the 125th Anniversary Package -- it is a great deal!

We have stayed at this beautiful boutique hotel a few times now,and will absolutely be returning again. This hotel is Rich in History and was once upon a time a fire station. Besides having pleasant and attentive staff, there is a very personable owner who likes to "get to know" her guests as we have talked in person a few times, and she is super sweet. We have stayed in three different room types here, all of which are beautifully furnished and spacey,as well as very, very clean. If you have the chance please do stay in one of their one bedroom suites. These rooms come equipped with a full kitchen, living room area with a gas fireplace, and a jetted hot tub to relax in. If I could give this hotel six stars I would! Love the Kendall Hotel!!

This was by far the best hotel I ever stayed in. I made reservations online based on photos and information on their website and they did not disappoint! I am a huge supporter of local and family business and this hotel exceeded my entire family's expectations. The hotel was not your typical hotel chain..it was quaint and tastefully decorated in a rustic patriotic theme. There were 7 floors of peacefulness...no noise through the walls or from the outside halls. Room was well maintained and super clean and comfortable. Upon arrival, we were disappointed to find that due to COVID - their small restaurant was not open for business but they recommended a number of wonderful places within walking distance. Their "breakfast to go" was enough to fill our bellies and in the evening they provided guests a glass of wine in the lobby area to enjoy there or in their room anytime from 4-11PM. The staff was very pleasant and genuinely interested in making sure that you enjoyed your stay. Everything was top notch...all the way down to their argon oil soaps and lotions to the complimentary hair dryer. I purposely did not pack a hair dryer since I am able to air dry my straight hair . I was shocked to find that they provided a Dyson hair dryer in the room for your convenience. Of course I had to try it and ladies - it was brand new and the best dryer I ever used!

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had in recent years. My wife and I flew into town for a wedding late on a Friday night. We checked in and went up to our room to find that it hadn't been cleaned since the last guest left. Like, dirty sheets, trash and food waste in the trash can and on the coffee table, bathroom a mess, tip still left out for the housekeeper. Ok, definitely not great. So we return to the front desk and tell the clerk. He's super apologetic, confused how this could happen, and immediately offers to upgrade to a suite free of charge, runs upstairs to get it all squared away for us.

Once we get into the suite, though, it's a similar situation. Crumbs ground into the carpet and all over the couch and chairs, stains on the counters and tables, crystal tumblers on the kitchen counters with the last dregs of whiskey in them, shower reeks of cigarette smoke, what appear to be pubes in the tub, no towels anywhere. As my wife and I go through the room, it becomes pretty clear that the grime isn't from the last guest - that instead, no one's been booking this suite, so the staff appears to have been using it as a lounge in their down time. So it wasn't ready to be given to a guest at the last minute. It's after midnight and we're not confident that anything productive would happen that late when we need to sleep before the wedding the next day, so we try to trust that the sheets are clean and go to bed, avoiding walking barefoot anywhere in the room.

The next morning, I talk to the front desk clerk about what's going on, and tell him that, at the bare minimum, we need the room cleaned immediately. He tells me that, because of COVID regulations, we aren't entitled to have the room cleaned while we're staying there because we're not staying for at least 3 nights. I explain to him that the issue is that they gave us a dirty room, which is the one basic thing you don't do as a hotel, and he reiterates that he'll "pass along our request to housekeeping," but he can't guarantee that they'll do anything. At this point,. this isn't just a cleaning problem, this is a customer service problem.

I can't honestly recommend that anyone stay at the Kendall. It disappoints me to say this. I wanted to stay there expressly to support a small business trying to stay open in the face of a pandemic, but I literally spent the afternoon before the wedding looking up how to report a hotel to the public health department. I understand being short-staffed in these times, but this was a failure at every step of the way from these guys. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to stay.

Super unique boutique hotel that will make you feel like home and experience the New England traditions like a local. The decor in the hotel is on point, very cozy and relaxing, the rooms are exceptionally well decorated but at the same time super quiet (sound and winter proof windows), the bathrooms are impeccable and technology is up to date (great Dyson hairdryers and contact phone chargers in all rooms). The staff is very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable about the area. Brenda was just amazing. The location is unbeatable, close to the Kendall T station and walking distance to the Charles River, MIT and Central Sq. The breakfast is very good also, even during Covid times. Would recommend this place to everyone.

My first hotel stay during COVID and it was very clean as usual. As soon as I entered my room I smelled the cleaning and sanitizing products. Very comfortable in lobby and front desk area with dividers and everyone wearing masks. Elevators have signage with 2 ppl limit. Always love staying here and Its very comforting that they continue to keep the rooms and lobby impeccable.

The Kendall was our go to spot in Cambridge over two years while studying at MIT Sloan. The atmosphere in the hotel was terrific and the staff were terrific in helping accomodate us. The hotel organized custom events with us and always came through with whatever was needed.

The rooms are very luxurious and extremly comfortable to lounge around in. We hung out in the lobby for hours on end and would retreat to the 7th floor guest lounge to work or hang with friends.

Breakfasts and coffee were great and we could pick and run to where he had to get to.

The location is ideal if you have anything to do in Cambridge or you can walk two minutes to get to the T/subway.

Restaurants are within a few minutes walk as well as many bars in the Kendall sq area.

Finally, the Kendall is a converted firehouse and the decor has lots of history of the firehouse.

make sure to check out the Kendal when in Kendall sq!

Hotel is 100% non smoking, but it’s on a Main Street so I’m sure you could go out to the sidewalk/driveway area to smoke as long as it’s away from the front area.

Same answer as others. You can call hotel and ask for early check in but they do have a room off the lobby where you can check your luggage if room is not ready. Nice restrooms just off lobby to use to freshen up.
