If you are looking just for a clean, quiet place to spend a night or two, this is a good value considering the location. It's a cute building in a nice neighborhood but could really use a couple of upgrades. Our bed was so creaky, it was still making noise after we got out of it! The wifi didn't work... More

Very clean, confortable beddings, very very close walking to the harvard square. Some improvments have to be set : water heat is irregular during showering, breakfast is just almost none and no fresh items or almost none, bananas at most. Wifi broke down 2 days, they should reparait their system and also when a customer has several little complaints like... More

The location is great with easy access to metro into downtown Boston. The rooms were clean and quiet. Breakfast was continental. The staff were nice and professional. It was a good deal considering the proximity to both Harvard and downtown Boston.

The location is its best value if you have Harvard business. The quaint room and bathroom were on the small side, but if you consider that this used to be a women's dorm ages ago, it makes sense. Everything was clean and made up daily. The service, hmm, depends on the person you get. The first desk clerk I met... More

Great location, nice room. AC unit was a window unit, it was cool enough to open the windows. Breakfast is limited. The Inn was predominantly empty so we had no trouble with parking or sitting for breakfast. The location is great. Easy walk to Harvard and/or the Harvard station of the T.

We wanted a place to stay that allowed us to be car free, walking to the Harvard campus. This bed and breakfast is close. There are three floors with at least five guest rooms per floor. When we came for our first breakfast, we found three tiny tables, seating a total of eight people! We got our food, returned to... More

The review is based my one-night stay at A Friendly Inn on May. I was at Harvard for a conference. The stay was booked and paid directly by the university (about $250). The Inn is a lousy and depression place. Despite its prime location, some of minimal functions as an acceptable lodging are lacking. There does not seem to have... More

This quaint B&B is within walking distance to Harvard campus and the T. Despite it's being located on a rather busy street the room was quiet and conducive to rest. Like a typical B&B the bathroom was small (but clean). I stayed in May on a warm day and could not find a way to adjust the temp in the... More

For staying somewhere this close to Harvard, this place is a good deal because everything else around it is vastly over-priced. Friendly Inn is not always friendly - some of the staff are nice, while others were pretty rude (and I am not someone who is very demanding or difficult). The rooms are comfortable enough, but nothing special. It's a... More

I'm told this is the best bargain near Harvard University. A Friendly Inn is a perfectly OK basic B&B hotel. But if this is the best you can get at the price near Harvard, my advice would be stay somewhere else and commute over to Harvard. My room was warm and clean (although I too noticed a long black hair... More
