As this one of the only reasonable priced hotels in the surroundings, Edda Skogar was our pick. The hotel itself is a bit old fashioned and smelled a bit like an elderly home. It also was a bit strange that we had to go to another building as where the reception is located. That having said, it is still a good place for a sleep and offers an easy walk to the amazing Skogafoss fall.

Like all the hotels in Iceland this one was a over priced. I don't like community bathrooms and this is what it had. You are right near Skogar falls (Skogafoss) which is really cool to watch / see. It was convenient to get up and go see the falls. We arrived late, looking for room & food, and the hotel restaurant was closed. There are no restaurants that are open late and only 1 other 1 in the area.

We stayed at the Hotel Skogar, but ate at the restaurant in the Hotel Edda. We checked out the area restaurants and the prices were far better here than anywhere else. The dining room is very nice. You do have to inquire when the bus tours arrive for dinner. It is best to eat before they arrive. We had the Arctic Char. The plate was 2800 ISK -- very reasonable for Iceland and the food was very good.

This was the only hotel we stayed at with a shared bathroom. It was fine! The room was clean. Tiny! There wasn't enough room to swing a cat. But we managed to squeeze in to the room and get a good night's sleep. It was so close to Skogarfoss that the above comments didn't bother us.

This can hardly called hotel. It is more like youth hostel. The rooms are very small and not very clean. The shower was not clean and the water smell like Solphat. The TV at the main living room didn’t have cables so you can see nothing! Avoid this place if you can. The price was high with no reason. The reception made mistakes in the charging process. Breakfast was fine.
