My boyfriend and I have stayed at Hotel Skógar twice this summer and each time has been so lovely. The hotel is in a beautiful location surrounded by mountains, with an overlook of Skógafoss. Kevin made our stay each time as comfortable and homie as possible. His friendliness and hospitality is on point and he goes out of his way to make sure our stay is to our satisfaction. I highly recommend going to Hotel Skógar, we've gone to many hotels around Iceland and the hospitality of Kevin and coziness of the surroundings will make you want to come again. Thank you Kevin for everything :) you deserve mad props.

The house is a little old and needs some restoration, but everything is nice, clean and tidy. The amazing waterfall of Skógarfoss is only about 10-15 minutes walk away and more interesting locations are within short driving distance, such as Dyrhólaey, Reynisfjara, Kirkjufjara and the Geysir area. The best thing about this nice little hotel is the very friendly service, which gets A++ My traveling partner is allergic to onions. We were asked on forehand if we had were any food related allergies. My partner always got a special plate without any trace of onions.

The first impression was meeting Kevin the hotel manager who was really enthusiast abt our stey being perfect. Which it was. Lovely hotel and great clean rooms overlooking beautiful mountains og sheeps biting grass. Very hot hottaup and outside sauna did add to the effect and the 4 course dinner was really good. Service impeccable by Kevin and Dorota. A ,ot to take in in the near surrounding. Higly reccomend this hotel :)

Room cosy, clean and comfortable. Large window looking towards the mountain and good view of the sky in the dark. In a lovely area with Skogafoss waterfall 5 minutes walk. Stayed one night and arrived about 8.30 after a long drive. We were made very welcome and offered coffee in reception. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant. I had lamb which was delicious and very nicely presented and the rest of my family had spaghetti bolognaise which was also delicious. The breakfast was very tasty with a good selection of hot and cold food. Kevin who was working both days was friendly, very helpful and efficient.

I’m guessing I might be the last visitor until this COVID-19 virus is dealt with. Spent a night at Hotel Skógar. From the outside it’s quite unassuming, but once indoor it’s a very nice, clean and roomy hotel. Great complimentary coffee in the lobby, along with some snacks. Receptionist was courteous and efficient, and check-in was prompt and quick. The room was large and clean and had all the necessary additions. It was very bright and offered a remarkable view of the waterfall and the fell/mount dominating Skogar. There were good night-shades so we could get it dark. It did turn a bit cold overnight and the radiator wasn’t completely up to the job, but the added electric heater in the room made up for it. Shower-stall was of the smaller size but did the job. Since we were the only residents I can’t comment on noise. We sneaked a look at other rooms and they seemed all relatively good-sized and comparatively equipped. Bed was good, plenty of pillows and no issue asking for more. We used the excellent hot-pot in the hotel-garden, as well as the sauna. I can imagine walking from Landmannalaugar to Skogar and then taking a dip in the hot-pot and a sauna to speed recovery. The restaurant was a surprise. Had an excellent meal that was well prepared and presented. Excellent breakfast buffet, and quick, friendly and efficient check-out. The litmus test for hotels: yes – I would stay there again.
