Most flights to Iceland seem to arrive first thing in the morning. So we drove straight from Keflavik all day and made our final stop for our first night in Iceland at Hotel Skogar. It is just a few steps from Skogarfoss (waterfalls); the hillside/mountain visible from our bedroom. The hotel is small and compact and so are the rooms.... More

Stayed one night, mid-trip. Rooms simple but clean. There's a nice hot tub in the back for guests to use. We relaxed in the tub for a few hours, gazing at the amazing star studded night! Truly relaxing

It was a small hotel situated in the middle of hmmm kinda nowhere to be honest The waterfall is right behind the hotel. Staff was not so friendly and we had a tough time finding the hotel when we first wanted to check in in the evening only to get attitude from the reception. Overall it's ok

Nice hotel located very close to Skogafoss. The hotel is on the smaller size but the rooms are comfortable and exceptionally clean. The staff were very friendly. Tea and coffee is available in the lobby along with pastries. Breakfast was cold items only, but had more then enough selection. My only complaint is that the bathrooms are very small with... More

Stayed in the 4 bed farmhouse which was just up the road from the main hotel. This is quite a quirky and interesting place to stop with plenty of room and very comfortable beds. Had tea in the restaurant which was good and breakfast the next morning. Staff were very pleasant and helpfull . The farmhouse is probably not to... More

This small country hotel has very dated rooms and very small bathrooms, but is definitely worth a visit. The rooms are clean and the staff is great. A highlight of our trip was getting up in the morning and being able to see sheep and the Skogafos waterfall out of the window. It is a wonderful walk to the falls... More

My friend and I were driving the Ring Road, with one full-day activity planned, the Fimmvörðuháls Trek from Skógar to Þórsmörk, which made Hótel Skógar the perfect location. Just a short walk from the falls (Skógafoss) and the start of the trail. We got in pretty late that night (so much to see!) and had a 6am start planned for... More

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Skogar for one night during a two-week tour of Iceland. The room was tiny, as expected. Our main issue was the lack of ventilation in the bathroom. We both took showers at night, which left our room super hot throughout the entire night. Like some of the other reviewers we also heard a... More

Located right next to the amazing Skógafoss waterfall, this comfortable hotel has everything you need and nothing you don't: comfortable, minimal rooms, an attached restaurant & bar with great food and beer selections, and an amazing view of the falls themselves, just a short walk away from the building. Lots of attractions and sights within driving distance, too. Highly recommended!
