Large apartment with view on the water. Good beds and everything present what you need. Supermarket a 1 minute walk. Relatively cheap compared to other places. Small town nothing special but great drive along the fjords.
One of the best and most comfortable accommodation in Iceland on our trip in Iceland. I recommend this hotel to everyone. At a good price in the apartments are absolutely everything we normally have at home. Great breakfast, good WiFi, parking next to the apartment. Absolutely everything is perfect. Neat, clean, comfortable, I would even say all was perfect, charming views through the window. Helpful and good known hotel staff. If you stay in this hotel, you can use swimming pool near the hotel for free. Thanks to the owners for the great conditions.
The hotel is well located right across the street from the harbor with all rooms having harbor views and some having generously sized balconies. Room 303 was a studio apartment with a full kitchen, living area, bedroom, bathroom, and a large balcony good for watching both the sunrise and sunset. Dinner at the hotel was perfectly fine. Breakfast on the other hand was the worst I've had in 20 hotels in Iceland. It was in a box in the room's refrigerator - but the contents including a boiled egg looked like they were a couple of days old. The refrigerator was also too cold so the veggies were frozen and the cheese was quite hard. As business picks up post Covid, hopefully the hotel will re-open its fresh breakfast buffet in the restaurant but until then, be wary of what breakfast you'll get. Overall despite the mediocre breakfast, I would stay here again because it's comfortable, well located, and has great views.…
This is a FANTASTIC gay owned hotel which was our home base in East Iceland during our big road trip here. We stayed in one of the apartments which was super big, lots of space. We had dinner in their restaurant and loved it - their chef cooks up some pretty impressive dishes. Loved it and highly recommend.
This property was chosen for us by our tour operator. It is a lovely area to drive through the fjords but certainly out of the way from anything else. There is not much to the town. We had thought we could have dinner at the restaurant but it was closed leaving us with not a lot of options. We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment. The living room, kitchen and bedrooms were furnished nicely. We had everything we needed in the kitchen for a short stay which included eating take out dinner in the apartment. The living area was spacious. The bathroom was old and run down - none of us used the shower as it looked grimy. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast served at the Cliff Restaurant. A large cafeteria set up with some cold items. Very limited choices and non existent staff. This was definitely a let down. Fine for an overnight stay if you aren't expecting much more than a place to sleep.…
We had an issue with the room we were provided, and when I drew it to the hotel's attention, we were immediately, no-questions-asked upgraded to a three-bedroom suite, at no additional cost, and comped two drinks at the bar/restaurant (we'd already made reservations). Obviously, this was only possible because the suite was available, but it was a fantastic gesture -- and really, either one of the two accommodations would have sufficed. I'd absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting Neskaupstadur.
Room with old and inefficient shutters letting the light get through (disturbing sleep, considering sunrise at 4 am). We had to put linen to cover the window to block sunlight. Sofas were stained. Bathroom wasn't that much clean. We asked for an alternative or compensation at the reception but we just got "I understand, but that's nothing I can do". Breakfast was basic, somehow disappointing. Generally low level services provided.
We stayed for 3 nights during our 2 week ring road trip. We had an apartment. Kitchen has oven and microwave but no dishwasher. Non stick frying pan would be useful. Spacious and clean. Unfortunate was a broken toilet seat and the beds only set up for 2 not 4. Continental breakfast served at cliff hotel (15 minute walk). Pastries were good. Rest was basic: bread, cereal, meat, cheese, yogurt, hard boiled eggs.
To start with the positives, lovely little town, we saw harbour porpoise from the balcony and the free entry into the swimming pool excellent, for the whole family. Room also clean. However room also very tired. Both blinds in bedroom and living room broken, a problem in summer with 24 hours daylight. Also breakfast was very poor and served by a couple of young staff who really didn't seem to want to be there. Shame really, as with a couple of tweeks would have been fine.
Amazing view from the hotel apartment. The town is very impressive. You can see fro your apartment fishingboat inbounding and outbounding to fishfactory in the end of the town. We used our time to enjoy clear and silent area to use our rod for fishing at the pier. You have fear price and private.
