Hotel Anna is situated in a beautiful part of Iceland, situated in the shadow of Eyjafjallajokull. We stayed in the apartments, no. 15 to be specific. This was an end apartment that had a few across the fields and towards the coast. The view all around of the mountains and waterfalls more than makes up for the forward view of the plain, which in its own way is still beautiful. The welcome was very warm and friendly, and the room was immaculately clean. Everything there that we needed for a few nights stay. We were also surprised that our room was cleaned each day, we didn't expect that for self-catering. The cleaning staff were really friendly too. We will definitely be back as the apartments far exceeded our expectations. All in all a fantastic place in a great location close to Seljalandfoss and Skogafoss and only a short drive from little towns with amenities. I'd recommend staying here if you want to explore the south coast (even just into East Iceland) and the Highlands.

Booked this in advance after reading some Tripadvisor Reviews. The little hotel is in a great location in front of green mossy hills and beside a horse ranch where you can arrange to ride if you wish (we didn't but watched groups head out). It has some trail options and there is pretty little church down the road as well as some waterfalls. The room was nice and comfortable and we didn't find it noisy except when noisy people came into the reception. They have a hot tub and sauna although the hot tub isn't terribly hot - about 37 degrees (we were able to add hot water to heat it up a little). We ate at the restaurant and enjoyed the meal - bought a bottle of wine which was on par for cost with the rest of Iceland. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to friends travelling - they have apartments as well but we didn't see them. Great mid-way point just past Vik towards Reykjavik so the commute back was cute and close to waterfalls and other sites.

They refused to serve our family of 6 at 730 pm though they are open until 9 because they couldn’t handle it. It doesn’t show anywhere that a reservation is needed, but he asked if we had one and we did not. There were only three couples in the restaurant at the time but he said his staff could not handle us. It smelled really good and looked nice, but we were very disappointed to be turned away after it was recommended to us. I would give this a 0 if I could for experience.

The outside tells nothing about the inside. It looks a bit boring and dull from the outside. But on the inside it is far from the modern stylish hotels there are countless of evereywhere. Lovely. A mix of old furniture that not always match but its so charming. The restaurant is absolutely fabolus. Exellent food.

Hotel was booked by travel Agency- despite I checked it- we got a major disappointment. We arrived late - only two rooms left (according do the gut managing the booking). Those rooms- as well as sone others - are directly facing the reception area. Room door are “thin”, so quite noisy. The food was below average- but we had- due to late arrival- no other option and TripAdvisor had overall good ratings, which we disagree with. Not sure if they have a new Chef- or we had bad luck. We left the Hotel next day- did not want to stay one night more.
