I have stayed here several times and have never been disappointed in the rooms, cleanliness, service or overall environment. I LOVE their breakfast buffets. The Hot Pots and Saunas are really nice too.
Originally staying for 1 night but ended up having to stay for 3 due to snow. No trouble from the staff in helping us, and for advising of conditions and what we could do. Room was really good, comfortable and quite a big room. Food in bistro was excellent, as was the breakfast - plenty of choice. Hot tub outside was an experience in the snow! Nice and warm but the snow was actually freezing your hair! Would come back to this hotel when visiting Iceland in the future. Cost was also really good value too.
It was absolutely fantastic weekend for us. Excellent food and drinks. Thank you for a very good service at the restaurant, bar and on breakfast next morning. The weather was just perfect and the hot spring is amazing like usually. This was our third stay at this hotel and certainly not the last. Thank you again.
I went here with two friends and we stayed in the Studio Room. We were expecting something nice, but instead we were greeted by beds so small, not even my cat would fit on them. We couldn’t figure out how to get the electricity to work, and the shower feels like it was just slapped in there. There is also a bit of water damage, and the TV does not provide any entertainment, seeing as it does not work. My friend burnt herself on the heater, which just so happens to be conveniently located right next to the bed. The sink was not cleaned and in fact, there was still some leftover food from the last guests. The last of my complaints is that the bathroom doorknob broke off when I tried to open it. On the other hand, we enjoyed the quick access to the freezing cold Iceland air, seeing as our door led straight outside. However, all of these problems brought my friends and I together as a team. This was quite the experience, and I would not recommend the Studio Room. Finally, do take into account that I am being nice with my feedback. Thanks.…
Hotel Stracta is quite new and a good stay when travelling in the south. The room (we booked Standard) are very small (there are preproduced entities), but with all you need, clean and practical. Very nice breakfast room on the first floor, with a nice view (you can even see Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull volcanos when clear sky). Breakfast buffet was nice, but highly recommand to the management to get a second coffee machine. Hotpots and Sauna in the hotel garden and a nice little shop as well. They also have a good equipped bar and nice lounge. As there is not that much you can do in the evening in Hella, this is nice to have. Good price / performance value
It was our first night on the island. The staff was very friendly. Fast check in and check out. The room was very clean, we enjoyed the hot tub and sauna. Many options for breakfast. Would stay again.
We stayed here for one night after we landed. We made a few short stops and this was a good stopping point as we were tired from an overnight flight. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite which was great for our family of 5. The breakfast was delicious!
We booked Stracta without knowing a lot about the area and we are glad we did. They were very accommodating from the beginning. After arriving the first night late, they were fast in getting me to my room and the bar was open for a late night drink. The staff was amazing, the food and drinks are top notch, clean rooms, great cleaning staff and the breakfast is stellar! The location is perfect if you plan on seeing all of the sights. I got to see the northern lights from their balcony!
Good Accommodation with friendly staff. Got the pre-arranged call when Aurora was visible and my family and I were able to view it from the Hotel Grounds. The accommodation was clean and met our needs. The Breakfast was satisfactory and the hotel bistro food was 'OK' though over-priced for what we got. This is even taking into account the eye-watering prices of everywhere in Iceland to eat out in comparison to the Uk or mainland Europe. The staff were friendly and very helpful and the site of the hotel was an excellent base to view the amazing natural scenery of the Golden Circle and South Coast. However Hella is just a hole in the hedge and there really is nothing of note in the town, other than the Hotel and a petrol Station. Best bet is to head for Selfoss if you need anything - We found some great restaurants / cafes in Selfoss which is situated only 20-30 minutes back along Route 1. …
Well located hotel but felt really busy with coach parties. We had to wait for evening meal despite trying to book prior; I wasn’t allowed. Room was well presented but really really hot! We had to sleep with the windows open despite the freezing outside temps. Parking on site.
