We went to Stracta to celebrate our 7th anaversery, what a dissapointment it was. Rooms were ok, small but ok, showers horrible, the hot tubs outside were so dirty you could not see to the bottom of them, and when you went to the puplic showers (the one's in the rooms were useless) there was no soap. Well we looked forward to a good meal and we had ordered a table at 20:30 and had already pre-ordered what to eat. Long story short, we waited 15 minutes to be seated, then after 45 minutes waiting our order for drinks had not been taked. So we cave up and walked out. The guest on the next talble told us it had been wors the night before, took them almost 3 hours to finish there dinner. Full resturant, and only 2 girls working, and one of them started that same day. Managment = Total Fail.

We went to this hotel to have a nice girls trip. The rooms were okay, the bed was nice but the room was dirty. The hot tubs were as if they had not been cleaned for weeks. Dinner was not good. Too strong or no taste at all, the fires that we got were the cheep left over fries that you get on an offer in the supermarket. We could not order two of the six dishes because they were sold out. Service at the restaurant was poor, waiting too long for service. Will not choose this hotel again for the next trip. We were very unhappy with the hotel.

We arrived to our upgraded standard room to Superior and at first sight we were honestly quite disappointed at how basic it was. BUT the shower was very powerful (good for sore muscles) and the beds were super comfy. The staff was great, very friendly and helpful. The best part about the hotel was the location. Being a Icelander I thought it was quite far from the hotel to Skógarfoss, but it was only about 30 min. drive away. The pandemic probably helped since there was little traffic on the roads. The breakfast buffet was super. The buffet included everything from cereal to bacon and baked beans, sweetbread and fruits. Also offered milk, juice and fresh coffee which I thought was very tasty. We did not get a chance to visit the hot tubs or sauna since we were busy visiting the tourist attractions. Finally, I can say that I would recommend this hotel to a friend.
