We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The host, Irena, was very flexible, helpful and communicative when we had to postpone our trip due to the Covid-19 situation. The hotel offers excellent value for money. We loved every minute of our stay and enjoyed the short walk to the beautiful gorge and waterfalls just up the hill. Would definitely stay again!

We stayed for two nights at Hotel Selid during our travels around Iceland (we used this as our base for exploring the Golden Circle) and would highly recommend. We were fortunate enough to have one of the corner rooms, so had the benefit of dual aspect windows with spectacular views from every one. The team are so friendly and helpful. The breakfast spread was fantastic and there was a dinner offer each night, but we were back too late from our daytime activities to take advantage of it. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the hotel is so quiet - we had a wonderful couple of nights and would love to return.

This was the 2nd time we stayed at Hotel Selid. Clean, simple, quiet rooms. The rate was great. Would have preferred the corner rooms (which we had the 1st time) for more space but they were booked up during our stay. Still happy with the regular room we got. Fantastic location for watching the Northern Lights because it's away from the main road and has big empty fields and a small hill around it where we can move around easily to capture the Lights. Staff was very friendly. Dinner is available (upon request) which is helpful if guests don't want to go out after a long day's trip. Breakfast is satisfactory. It's a good base for exploring the south coast. We did 2 days of Super Jeep tours to the Highlands, and the tour provided free pickup/dropoff at Hotel Selid. There are hiking trails going up to the hill with panoramic views of the area. I will stay here again. Would have preferred more lights in the room. A bit too dark for reading at night. But it doesn't affect my overall rating.

I’ve worked in a hotel before and for that reason I have had the opportunity to visit many hotels, but this one was definitely the best place to stay with a relaxing environment and its very quiet and calm. There is a mountain close by and you can go for a walk, the view is amazing with the water falls, if you love nature this is a very nice hotel to stay at. Breakfast has a variety of things to eat, and everything is clean and fresh. Would definitely recommend for the best experience.

Hotel service was beyond amazing, the people are so kind and actually want to make your visit and stay in the hotel worth the while. The breakfast has a good variety of foods and good amount. The bathrooms are impeccable, very clean and like the bathrooms the rooms are very organized. Would recommend to everyone that is around visiting and wants the best hotel in the area. 😁
