We stayed here for one night on our drive around Iceland on the ring road. We had just finished a long day of sightseeing on the Golden Circle, and we were hopeful that we would have a decent, comfortable hotel room for the night. Hotel Kanslarinn did not disappoint. There is no sign for the hotel, so just look for the sign “Restaurant Kanslarinn”, which is attached to the hotel. You check in inside the restaurant. inside the restaurant. It was a good sized, but very basic room on the ground floor, but we were comfortable here. It was actually one of the nicer rooms we stayed in during our trip. Our rate included breakfast, which was served in the restaurant attached to the hotel. It was the best breakfast of our entire trip! We really appreciated the fresh cooked fried eggs. We did not eat dinner here, but I posted pictures of the menus they posted on the restaurant window. I would not hesitate to stay here again. …
Great food, friendly staff 👍 The fries are to dye for and the fish perfect. And one thing thats to give thumbs up for is the water is cold when it arrive to table. All very clean and the price is ok 🙂
We had a hard time finding this place. It is connected to restaurant. Not great signage. It is a good surprise. They are renovating and very nice rooms. Breakfast was very good!! Would recommend! Very clean and nice!
I stayed at this small hotel a few weeks ago for 3 nights and the beds were super comfy, room was quiet and clean. Added bonus was free breakfast in the morning. The bath was updated, clean, minimalist and the shower hot! The staff spoke English very well also. Highly recommend!
Recently renovated: modern, nordic design. Clean and cosy with comfortable mattress as well as bedlinens. Bathroom with rain shower! Smart TV, kettle and mini fridge available too. In house restaurant serves good, tasty food and standard American breakfast. Accommodated to our group’s (21 pax) request to have brekkie an hour earlier. Staff was very friendly and polite compared to the service staff in Reykjavík.
