We spent 3 wonderful nights in the Asian suite this August. The room is beautifully decorated. Warm touches such as nightly turn down service, chocolates and warm lighting made coming back to a restful haven delightful . The staff at the hotel were graciously warm and welcoming. The food at the hotel restaurant is delicious and we enjoyed drinks from the bar. There’s a game room with billiard table and some hot tubs for soaking outside after a long day. We loved our stay at the Hotel Ranga and hope we can return someday

We room a trip here on a family vacation. We were expecting a lodge abd cozy feel given the pictures on the website and social Media. We were in a family suite with an Antarctic theme. It was disturbing and very off. Beware of the penguin room!!

Had a lovely stay here . Staff were fabulous as was our room. Hot tubs are a nice treat. We ate in the restaurant and had some fabulous food. Yes it’s pricey - but worth the money. We have stayed in a few hotels around Iceland and this was the best. Would love to visit again

We came to Iceland to ride in The Rift and enjoy the country. We decided to stay here as it was close to the start line and we heard great reviews about it. We were not disappointed. Everything about the hotel - location, staff, food - was amazing! I had the wild mushroom soup at least 2x/day during our stay, it was that good! We will happily stay here again the next time we're back in Iceland.

We recently stayed at this hotel and was pleasantly surprised to see that that it is a 4 star but when we arrived it was apparent that we arrived during a training period as a few staff did not understand how to deal with the customer arriving. Although the hotel has outside tubs these were not working ie jets and made the experience less enjoyable. We also were presented a bill upon leaving the hotel which was in Euros and did not reflect the charges that were displayed in Krona on the menu. This was most annoying as the staff informed me that there was nothing they could do about it as it was the system. How ridiculous. We stayed at approx 12 hotels and never experenced this. The hotel maybe 4 star but does not deserve its status.

If you want to go somewhere where you really remember afterwards, you choose Hótel Rangá. But you have to experience not only the Hotel itself but also the surroundings. A combination of cosy and warm interior, great nature and excellent service.

Hekla Volcano out the front and a lovely winding river out back. Staff was great as was restaurant. Windows on 3 sides as well as delicious food. Our room had a Japanese theme which was cut but could have been hard for anyone not able to climb into the tub. No AC so slept with window open but dark curtains closed as light all night. Hot tub outside was just what we needed after a day of touring.

Room Tip: Ask about theme for room. Second floor was nice but no elevator. Rooms out back are better.

A stuffed polar bear is greeting you on the lobby. Dead stuffed animals watch you in the corridor. A lamb made of reindeer bones - and the worst of all - endangered puffin served at the a la carte list. I do regret I chose this hotel for a stay.

Wonderful location for extending our Golden Circle trip further east without having to return to Reykjavik. Excellent staff. Excellent restaurant with wonderful views of river. Difficult to regulate room temperature. No thermostat. Single thick comforter with no topsheet so too hot or too cold.

Good rooms - even though ours opened on to the car park! Friendly welcome with welcoming drink. Hot tubs basic and outside but ok. We’ll placed hotel for the Lava Centre which is very well put together. Restaurant very good. A welcome break from a tedious drive!
