We had a lovely stay and the 13 course vegan dinner started out very nicely but there were some dishes that were not that great. I loved the soup, the pate and the carrot especially. But the tartalette was bland and the veggie balls were nothing special. Nice touch to have a vegan winelist as well! Bed was lovely, but it was a bit difficault to get some fresh air in the room as the curtains are so thick they sealed off the window. Room was clean, tv was good size and many channels, the shower was great and the complimentary gift from that night’s yulelad was charming. Thanks forvthe stay!! Would love to come back next year to an improved vegan menu :)

Everything was just perfect, we stayed in the Australia junior sweet which was perfect. Bed comfy and the decorations in the room were really nice. We had an offer with 3 meals from menu included and what a treat. Everything we tried of the menu these 2 nights was very good.

I’ve read negative reviews about Rangá, and after staying here 3 times including getting married here I have had none of the issues people speak of. The staff can’t do enough for you, the food is tremendous, and the atmosphere is fantastic. We always feel welcomed and at home here. The location is fantastic and the views are as raw as it gets, beautiful. Yes it’s pricey, but you knew that when you booked didn’t you! If you’re lucky enough to get a suite you won’t be disappointed. At the restaurant you’ll experience attentive staff and out of this world food. There’s a set meal option or an a la carte menu to choose from. The lounge areas are welcoming and comfortable with a pool table and board games to enjoy with a beer. The hot tubs are hot’ and are a fabulous place to watch the sun set over the river. Yes the carpark will freeze over in winter, it’s Iceland! But there’s lots of space to park. The reception staff bend over backwards to accommodate any requests/queries and there’s plenty of advice on where to visit. All of our visits have been during the depths of winter and we’ve stayed in numerous hotels in Iceland but this one keeps us coming back! Immerse yourself into Iceland’s culture and escape the usual tourist hotspots by researching some of the more unique experiences and you’ll not be disappointed. Car hire is a must if you wish to make the most of your stay. Rangá is a tremendous base to set you off.

A real 5 star hotel out in the middle of nowhere, which is what we were after. Fabulous dining and super star breakfast. We saw the Northern Lights our first night and it snowed the second. Couldn't have been more perfect. My only comment is that they didn't serve coffee until 7 am. I am an early riser and my roommate isn't. So. I just walked the hotel for an hour.
