Wonderful find ever so slightly off the road. If it is sunny, you will find this ruby gem in an emerald field, with horses roaming nearby. The rooms are on the small side - don’t expect Hilton US standards. But the beds are super comfortable and the shower hot with great pressure. Outlets by the bedside. The small window opens to allow for beautiful Icelandic air to circulate in the room. The windows themselves are nearly the whole wall, so the views are wonderful. Breakfast is coffee and homemade heart shaped waffles and a homemade jam that should be sold - it’s that good. There is a communal kitchen area. Don’t expect Americans. The other guests there were from Brussels, Netherlands, etc. Not far are low key local restaurants that met our needs. Close to major touring sights (25 minutes to Secret Lagoon, 30 mins to the southern falls. Loved it.

Located on a farm outside of Hella, on a paved road just a few km north of the Ring Road. Consists of 12 modern rooms plus a central kitchen/lounge area where freshly-made waffles and beverages are served in the morning. Exceptionally clean, nice size room with private bath, table and chairs and wardrobe unit. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Excellent lighting. Sufficient electrical outlets for charging my devices. Very quiet. Good in-room WiFi. No in-room TV (this was not a surprise – no TV was advertised in the listing).

We have had the opportunity to travel the world and experience numerous B+Bs. Loa's Nest ticks all the boxes. It is a beautiful location, the rooms are nicely appointed, full kitchen available for use, delicious breakfast & hosts that are present and knowledgeable but not overly intrusive. Wonderful experience. I would highly recommend :) Thank you!

What a great hotel. Absolutely lovely place to stay in. The rooms were clean, warm and comfortable. The bathroom and shower was immaculate. Every morning free homemade waffles are served along with maple syrup and chocolate sauce 👌 I can definitely recommend a stay here. Perfect.

First of all, the location is perfect. It is within an hour's drive from all the major golden circle attractions, within 30 minutes drive from big towns for gas/grocery, and secluded enough to view northern lights (weather permitting) without any light pollution nearby.
We had a room (room#7) with a private bathroom. It was clean, tidy and spacious enough compared to the European standards. There is a shared well equipped kitchen if you want to cook. The kitchen also had basic ingredients like cooking oil, salt, pepper, sugar and some spices. They also have a shared refrigerator with sections marked for each room to store your own food. Wi-Fi is decent.
A big shout out for the hospitality! Unnur and Ingi are perfect hosts and they genuinely seemed to care for their guests. We got lots of tips on local things to do, restaurants to eat etc. Like Ingi gave us superglue to fix a broken wing of our drone. Unnur gave us extra towels while we were heading out because it was going to rain.
There is just this one little thing about free breakfast. I would call it free waffle, jam and tea/coffee (with milk and sugar). It doesn't include typical breakfast items like eggs, toast, fruits, oatmeal etc

Fabulous place. Location brilliant. Rooms excellent. Facilities couldn’t be better. The communal area was amazing. The owners were delightful full of information and couldn’t be friendlier or more helpful
Breakfast waffles were delicious, especially the homemade jam.
To be hypercritical an extra pillow would have provided a better night sleep. Views from the rear of the property were spoilt by an old metal container.
Loved the place

Wonderful stay! Look no further! Very nice, spacious room with a good bed and very convenient bathroom. Also the host is super nice and gave us a nice surprise at breakfast 😋. The location is wonderful, very quiet, feels remote but actually only a few minutes away from the ring road. Felt a bit like a higher class of guesthouse. We will probably go back to see the Northern lights in winter.

I loved everything about this fantastic guesthouse! The owners are the friendliest, available for interesting chats and preparing lovely waffle breakfast. The guesthouse is new and very well designed (in contrast to many repurposed buildings that turn into guest houses in Iceland). Our room was spacious and very comfortable (quality linens and pillows), soundproofed and with a beautiful private bathroom. Guests have access to a fully equipped kitchen, which we really appreciated. I enjoyed a lovely stroll on the road just out of Loa’s with a variety of birds and Icelandic horses. The value is also excellent! Would definitely stay there again if coming back to Iceland!

Stayed at Loa’s Nest after starting our exploration of the Golden Loop and the place was easy to self check-in, lovely, neat, clean, modern, spacious and comfortable. The hosts cook a waffle breakfast in the dining room each morning for guests and are very friendly and accommodating. Located in a beautiful, quiet area with great views of the landscape. Definitely recommend!

Loa’s Nest was a quiet, pleasant place to stay 5K off the Ring Road. Room was comfortable for two people and had a private bathroom. There was a spacious dining area with a well-equipped shared kitchen if you want to make your own meals. Don’t miss the home-made waffles prepared each morning by the owners! That was a wonderful start to the day! Location not too far from the golden circle - we beat the tour buses to Geysir & Gullfoss after 8am waffle breakfast. We highly recommend staying at Loa’s Nest!
