We booked in at the end of our trip. The Valentines package was super value - and included the wonderful, fully equipped room, with a big bowl of chocolates and a rose! We had the use of the private and wonderful Silica Lagoon, with a complimentary drink or two, robes, mud masks and complimentary flip flops. This lagoon was quiet, and super special. The package also included an amazing 5-course dinner at the Lava Restaurant, free entrance and complimentary drink in the Blue Lagoon, and a totally amazing breakfast the following morning. The lounges were wonderful - we actually needed another night, to fully appreciate everything the Silica had to offer. Awesome experience.

Our family of 7 booked 4 rooms for 2 nights.. The rooms were lovely, but the ambience was beyond! The hotel was quiet and relaxing. Everything was neat & clean. Breakfast was wonderful with enough choices that everyone found something delicious to eat. The only hiccup was that we & another large group arrived after 10:00 pm, and there were only a few pre-made sandwich options available. They were good, but we would have loved a bit more. The sunset photos are absolutely gorgeous. I would definitely go back for another stay.

We loved our stay at the Silica Hotel! It is definitely on the pricy side but comes with Blue Lagoon access and the hotel's private lagoon was one of our favorite parts of the trip so it is certainly worth the splurge! The staff was very friendly and the rooms and grounds were very clean. We stayed one night in the middle of our trip and it was the perfect day of relaxation and getting to appreciate the amazing waters.

We stayed here for our last night in Iceland as it was my 21st birthday and it was just beautiful. Hotel even gave me a card and chocolate strawberries for my birthday! It was the perfect end to our busy week full of sight seeing and activities. You can’t check into the hotel till around 3pm. We arrived about mid day but reception held our luggage and we went to the main lagoon for the afternoon where we got a free drink at the swim up bar and free face masks as we were staying at the hotel. We had the best afternoon and came back and checked into our room what was beautiful! We had free welcome drinks and could also use the private lagoon at the silica which also had face masks too. My partner and I don’t like fancy food and the only restaurants are the ones at the main lagoon which we didn’t fancy and are very pricey so we ended up ordering a pizza, sat in our room and it was lovely! The breakfast in the morning was really good! The room is also full of all the blue lagoon products. One tip I would say is to soak your hair in conditioner and leave conditioner on your hair when in the lagoon as the water does dry it out! Honestly the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in and I hope to visit again one day!

We stayed here on our last night in Iceland. It was a fantastic way to relax after hiking almost daily for the week before and staying in small guest houses. The hotel staff were very kind and the check in process was easy. The room was beautiful with amazing views of the mossy lava rocks outside. The room had heated floors in the bathroom and a towel warmer. Also stocked with all of the Blue Lagoon shower products. We were provided with bath robes and flip-flops and there was easy access to our lagoon just down the hall. At the indoor portion of the lagoon you were able to get silica mud masks and a pool noodle which is great for floating around. You can also get the silica mud from many points along the floor and sides of the lagoon. It was a larger lagoon than I expected and it was not crowded as it is restricted to only hotel guests. It was an amazing experience. We opted for the package that included a tasting menu at lava restaurant. This was a few minutes drive from the hotel (or a walk or shuttle ride). It was a beautiful restaurant and great service. The food was okay, but not the best I’ve had in Iceland. Breakfast buffet at silica, however, was the best one I had, and I loved the latte/espresso machine. The atmosphere and vibe of the breakfast area was amazing! So relaxing. We also got admission to the blue lagoon included which we used after our hotel checkout. Access to the lagoon got us a robe, 3 face masks, and a free drink. We also booked in water massages, which were definitely worth it. Such a unique experience! Overall our stay in the silica hotel was amazing. Would highly recommend!

We stayed here for one night, it was the worse place we stayed in Iceland. The hotel is in the middle of the lagoon which was the reason we selected it, but the lagoon smells like sulfur because that’s how it gets heated. But sulfur smells like sewer and our room had a very strong sulfur smell and it felt like we were sleeping in the middle of sewer. The room was hot and we could not open the window because the sewer smell would get worse. My son who had his own room said he felt like someone was passing gas on his face all night. The room is fine, the breakfast was a very nice, the private lagoon is small but nice. The hotel has a cozy feel but honestly I could not breath. Go visit the lagoon but whatever you do, don’t stay here.

So we opted to layover in Iceland on our way to Germany from Alaska. Every mention of Iceland includes the Blue Lagoon so we figured we would splurge. We landed at 6:00am and of course could not check in until 3:00pm so what to do? Well we landed in a blizzard and 50 knot winds so driving was pretty difficult. Would have been nice to go straight to the Blue Lagoon but we'd figured we'd do Reykjavik first and then head back to Blue Lagoon. But the driving was too difficult we stopped at the nearest hotel and took a 5 hour nap. On to the Silica hotel review. Our room was fine, comfortable and all but the lighting was horrible. It was so hard to see in there at night, no way to read a book and had to use a flashlight to find anything in my suitcase. Needs more light in the rooms! Very nice we could enjoy the Blue Lagoon at no extra charge and got a free drink, plus welcome drink at the Silica. For that kind of money there should be a sauna at Silica. The pool was very nice and hot and not crowded at all. Breakfast was great. Dinner at Lava restaurant was so so. Gal at check in / out was very nice. But I think the rooms should be a minimum of 1/2 the price of what they are charging.

This hotel is still pricey but cheaper than staying at the blue lagoon. It's right next door to Blue Lagoon in the middle of volcanic land in every direction so you feel like you are on another planet. Service and cleanliness is definitely a 5 as well as the breakfast buffet. Incredible. Floors are heated and the patio views are incredible and very unique. Blue lagoon access was included with my stay. Made my last two nights in Iceland the perfect R&R I needed after a week filled with hiking.

Me and my husband stayed at this hotel for four nights in early March, and it was wonderful. The staff is super helpful, and we were well taken care of from the moment we walked in the door. We arrived around noon on a Thursday and our room was already ready, which was a big plus because we then could get changed and go to the hotels private lagoon. The lagoon is wonderful and quiet, with few people, several times we had it all to ourselves. Because of this we did like the hotel lagoon much better than the large blue lagoon. You could bring drinks into the water and they also had the silica face mask that you could apply from large bowls on the side of the lagoon. In the common area of the hotel they had comfortable chairs and blankets where you could sit in your bathrobe, relax and enjoy a drink or two. The rooms are nicely decorated, spacious with a large bathroom, and a nice view of the lava rocks. The beds are comfortable. Breakfast was very nice with a large variety of different foods. The hotel did not serve any lunch or dinner which was something that we would have enjoyed, but the it was possible to buy sandwiches and other snacks from a refrigerator. The hotel itself is very peaceful and is a nice place to spend time together and just relax! Would recommend this hotel for couples. We would love to come back someday.

Stunning views and am exceptional hotel. Private lagoon on site is must. Nice breakfast. Everything top quality and provided. The restaurant is 7 minutes walk away but they will take you there in a courtesy car if the weather is rough. Classy place but not pretentious
