We really enjoyed our stay at the Retreat. We were immediately greeted upon arriving and offered a glass of champagne and a nice tour of the hotel and spa. Our room was gorgeous and the view was really incredible. We also had a perk included with our booking and it was already waiting for us in the room. The included mini bar drinks, breakfast, and yoga class were very nice touches. The Blue Lagoon is really a must when visiting Iceland, and the Retreat is definitely the best way to do that. The only strange thing about the hotel, which I noticed in other reviews prior to booking, is that there is a weird mix between public areas and feeling like a high end luxury retreat. Moss wasn't open during our stay so we had dinner at Lava, and while the space was beautiful, there were odd aspects, like the cafeteria style tables and people coming in from the Lagoon with bags, etc. We had a nice meal but the service was spotty. The spa was also a little disappointing in that for treatments, you're not offered the typical spa amenities, like being greeted and then provided a robe and slippers, brought to a nice changing room space and then to a private relaxation room to wait, or offered water and tea. You're told at check in that you should just change into your robes in your room, and then walk through the entire lobby area and through the spa restaurant to get to the facilities. But the private areas of the lagoon you have access to are wonderful, so it still felt worth it.

Exceptional location, beautiful rooms, luxurious amenities. The breakfast is outstanding. The rituals in the spa is a unique experience. The private blue lagoon access is stunning. One of my favourite features of the hotel was that free Yoga sessions are offered every morning with a lovely instructor. One really delightful treat is that the mini bar has complimentary snacks and beverages.

Fantastic, it was a place I had wanted to go to on my bucket list. The bonus was it was my birthday and I spent it in the Blue Lagoon and we were lucky enough to finish the day with the Northern Lights. The hotel is amazing the staff couldn’t be more friendly or helpful if they tried. Food in the Lava Restaurant and in the Spa was lovely. Highly recommend, like I say fantastic.

Upon our arrival, we were greeted by our host Swan. She made our stay so enjoyable in such a thoughtful and caring manner. We had a first floor room overlooking the lagoon which was incredible. The entire experience was magical. Every detail had been accounted and made our stay the perfect escape to end our trip in Iceland.

Stayed in a Moss Junior Suite for one night in October 2021. What can I say other than this is the best hotel experience I have ever had (or can imagine). Everything is top of the line and the entire experience just exudes luxury. The room was stunning, shower is massive and the best shower I have enjoyed. The heated pool is basically a private version of the blue lagoon. Moss restaurant was excellent. And this is before I even get into how amazing the spa experience here is, which is a top of the line massive spa. Also got an in water massage which is highly recommended. The hotel also has a rooftop patio to view the northern lights if they are out, and the hotel will call your room if the lights appear at any time of the night. Was nearly crying we had to leave this place. We spent $2800 USD for one night here all-in with the spa appointments, and it was worth every penny. If you can afford to stay here this hotel is a MUSTTTTTTT. The volcano is close by so you can go hike that too. This hotel was the best experience we had in our one week stay in Iceland.
