I stayed in Saga guesthouse over a weekend with my family. We absolutely loved it. The big hot tub, the horses just down the street and the cosy and clean house. The proprietors did everything to make us happy. They really know how to make the guest happy and welcome.

Very nice and clean guesthouse, just renovated. The staff were nice and friendly, and the guesthouse is situated right next to the horseback riding tour organizer - Riding Tours South Iceland - perfect! And the hot tub outside made it even better.

Last week stayed one night in this guesthouse. It was a good stay. When we arrived a very friendly lady of the house showed us around.

After cooking our own diner in the kitchen we stepped into the hot tub with a view on the sun going down.

The breakfast simple but good.

Sydra Langholt is well positioned for touring and has a beautiful view but it stops there. The rooms are small, most have no en suite facilities. The dining room is like a staff cafeteria without the charm and the food, for which there is no choice, is akin to boarding school grub. There is no liquor license. The pricing is opaque and we certainly paid more than we should have.

When we arrived at the guesthouse the owner showed us our room.
The room was basic but ok. A big bed was in the room as well as a spare bed and therefore the room could have been rented to three people as well. There was also a sink in the room but unfortunately there was no TV in the room and internet was not available in the guesthouse at all. The missing internet was very unfortunate as we stayed at this guesthouse while the vulcano errupted in may 2011 and we couldn't get any information about flights ect. But the owner was very nice during this time and helped the guest with rebooking other accommodations and she tried to keep us as updated as possible.

The breakfast was very basic and the orange juice wasn't proper juice, it was only concentrate with water. But we didn't have to starve and that's the main point.

There is also a hot pot at the guesthouse which can be used by all guests, which is great.

Unfortunately the bathrooms are a bit different. They make more the impression of a youth hostle than a guesthouse. You have three showers next to each other and you can't really get changed. This could need some improvement.

We can not recommend this guesthouse to everybody. People with a higher standart and families shouldn't stay in this guest house.

I don't recomand this hotel! It smells like an second hand store, not very clean!
Double room means a room with 2 small beds, very noisy! Showers not very clean and toilets.....bleah! You better go outside! Very small and very old!
Wi-fi is bad, you better supose you don't have internet.
Outside there is a hot tube very good to relax and forget about inside!
If you like horse ridinng it is a good place to do that.
Breakfast was cheep but you will not leave with an empty stomach....
My favorite moment was when a beautiful cat came to me to pet him,I was measing my own cat! I will put a picture of him.
My conclusion: if you have time to go somewhere alse just go!

Dear Alexa, I wanted to say that I´m really sorry about your experience. I bought this company last year in January 2017 and yes everything was old and not in a good way. We tried everything to close their listing here on TripAdvisor when we bought this company, so I could make a new listing for my new company but TripAdvisor just changed the name of their old listing into my new company so I got all their reviews. We renovated the house completely, even new walls and changed all. We would be happy to see you one day and give you a good experience in our company Guesthouse Saga, you can check it out here: www.guesthousesaga.is Best regards and have a nice day :) Arna Sigmundsdóttir

My husband and I spent a night at Guesthouse Saga a couple of weeks ago and it was perfect. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful and the house is all recently renovated. The beds were comfortable, there is a lovely hot tub and plenty to do in the area.

We had a wonderful time in Saga. The rooms are clean and cozy and the guesthouse is located in a very quiet area. Spacious dining area and well equipped kitchen. The house also has a lovely garden, a curious little kitten and a large hot tub. Nice view, even from the ground floor and sometimes you can see horses running around.

This Guest House is incredibly beautiful and very well organized. The rooms are warm and cozy and a super breakfast is offered. Just outside you’ll find a tipical hot tub to warm up in the cold Icelandic evenings. The owners are very nice people and my special thanks goes to Arna for being such a lovely host and for making us feel at home away from home. When visiting Iceland a stay in this Guest House is a must and we hope to be able to go back again😍

Just stayed there for the second time last night. The kitchen is great with everything you need for any meal you want to make. Cozy clean rooms in such a beautiful setting. Arna and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Good for both big groups and individuals. I highly recommend this place to anyone staying in the area!
