The hotel is really picturesque but it comes at a cost. The steps. We stayed in the main hotel (3rd floor) and thank goodness we did. The other rooms around the garden were subject to even more steps. And we're a pretty fit bunch. The room itself was way too small for the three of us - but the view made us forget all about it. The waterskiing was superb. Thoroughly recommend pre-booking the ski package to get the most out of your stay here. Our main issues though were with the restaurant. It was so poorly organised. Every time we went in, we had to ask for someone to clear a table. Cleaning and relaying tables should be someone's designated job, doing it as soon as a table is free, rather than wait until another group arrives to sit down. It really got tiresome. So much so that I dreaded mealtimes. The restaurant is small enough and spead over two floors so having to traipse up and down with food is not ideal either. And the restaurant chairs are so uncomfortable it was awful. Food was good though. Security needs to be heightened here too. I didn't need to give a room number to take out any equipment on Goat Island and all the sunbeds on Goat Island are taken up by non Neilson's people, despite signage saying for Neilson's Guests Only. There was no one to enforce it. This was the same on the pontoon. We'd paid all that money to stay at Neilson's to find people next to you have just walked in and plonked themselves down. The non-Neilson beach towels and coolboxes gives it away. While we're on the subject of beach towels, the new Neilson's blue beachtowels are not colourfast and the blue ran all over the white bed linen in the room when I put a towel on the bed and onto my white sundress. I wouldn't go to this particular Neilson's again.

We picked Neilson's after Skiing with them in March, which was excellent. Flew out to Prevezza from Stansted with Titan airways, flight was okay but nothing to write home about and no inflight shopping available. The transfer to resort was around an hour and a half, very well organised as you receive your welcome pack & room keys on the coach so no checking-in hassle on arrival and the added touch of bottled water was available during the transfer. Be prepared for a very steep short walk once you arrive at the resort, the coach just couldn’t make it!! Overall we thought the resort itself was utterly stunning, the views were amazing and the resort is well spread out, actually very well spread out, which I suppose brings me on to the steps! I know it’s repeated in other reviews but I can’t emphasise enough that its steep and you will have calves like rock by the end of your stay. From our room to the pontoon were 380 walking steps, 240 of those were steps, so pack well for the day or you will have the legs of a fitness instructor :) The kids clubs are by far and away the best I’ve ever seen, if your child is below the age of 17, they will automatically be added and be with like minded children of roughly the same age group, identified by their free rash vest, supplied by Neilsons. Your child doesn’t have to attend; our 13 year old was initially reluctant, but ended up making new friends from around the UK and having a great time. Roughly speaking they did 2 hours in the morning, break for 2 hours over lunch and the midday heat, and then return for 2-3 hours in the afternoon. The Neilsons team of Nannies kept them very busy with a myriad of different activities be careful what boxes you tick when you fist sign them in though, some activities are at an additional cost. From a family point of view we thought the food to be "okay". For the money I would have expected better, hot food was, well not really very hot, not that varied or exciting. Salads and deserts were better. Getting a table could be a chore and unfortunately in peak season the restaurant just wasn’t big enough and the walk downstairs with your plate of food could be a hazard on occasion. The chances are if you are visiting Neilsons, you know your coming on an "active holiday" There's plenty going on everyday and we tried most things between the four of us. Be aware that the welcome meeting and the small scrum after this is to sign up if you are looking for Tuition only, so if there is something you haven’t done and you would like to be taught, then this is the place to be on day 1. If you have experience and you are confident on the water, some things you can just help yourself to (paddle boarding/kayaks/wind surfing/Dinghy’s, or you can just pitch up to do a taster or refresher, which you'll find on the activities sheet. Water skiing/wakeboarding has to be signed up for regardless and I didn’t hear of anybody not getting a slot. The water sports teams also organised various "safari's" which were very good for exploring the area by water. All in all the watersport and the equipment where first class and the best available. I did try the biking which I do at home, to be honest for me it was too hot and I struggled...I do live in Norfolk where there are absolutely no hills though!! Tried the Yoga, which was excellent and my Daughters played some tennis, which again was excellent, with Babolat racquets available if you don’t have your own. Syvota was superb on the 3 nights a week off (Sun/Wed/Fri) with a great variety of restaurants to suit all tastes & budgets with a lovely harbour to boot while admiring the array of beautiful yachts moored for the night. Its not that bad a walk down or up again, but the water taxi is worth it for something a little different. Evening entertainment was okay, great enthusiasm from the Neilsons team, but a little brash for my liking. Drinks go on your room and could rack up, a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc was around the £20 mark, beer around £4 and the ever-popular milkshakes for our girls was around £6. Overall we did have a fantastic time here, we met some lovely people from the UK and Denmark. Its not the cheapest with some upsell to consider, but if your looking to keep your children thoroughly entertained in a very professional and safe environment then this is the place for you, either as a family or as a single parent looking to have some time out. Top tip, to get away from the hustle and bustle of the days activities, the pontoon is the place to be, great sunbathing and book time. Goat island was great for exploring the caves. Happy holidays

First time with Neilson and very impressed. Whilst the resort rooms are not the biggest and the aircon in them could be better this is not the point of a Neilson holiday. The money is spent on the activities, which are first class and also the staff, again first class. Great schedule. Enough equipment and staff to guest ratio that you never miss out on what you want to do. Top quality equipment and instruction. Great location with a beautiful bay. Our teens (16, 14, 14) have not been in a kids club since they were toddlers and were not really looking forward to one this week. In the end we were the ones asking if they might like to join us for dinner or a drink so we could hear about their fun filled days. Otherwise they were making friends through the various activities laid on for them and run by brilliant leaders. Excellent and plentiful food. Great bar and the right amount of entertainment. We cycled, kayaked, paddle boarded, wind-surfed, water skied, ran, joined gym sessions, played Tennis, splashed in the pool and also enjoyed the company of other like minded guests. All in all a great holiday.

Had the best family vacation ever . 6 adults all travelling together and staying in 3 separate rooms. The place is in an absolutely amazing location with fantastic views out to sea. The staff are all so friendly and helpful and professional too. The food is so delicious with so much choice and cooked to perfection time and time again. And plenty of it too. Our room had a balcony with a wonderful view of the island and the beach opposite. The room was cleaned every day with fresh towels and mopped floors and the beds were well made. The equipment guests use is top notch and there seems to be plenty of everything from kayaks, paddleboards, bikes, tennis racquets etc The morning yoga classes were excellent and outdoors, under a huge canopy by the sea. I believe the fitness classes took place there too. The aqua fit was fun to do in the pool with great music to dance to. I would give this place 10/10 for everything. Such a wonderful positive experience had by all. Thank you Neilson holidays. You are THE BEST

Wow wot a place this is its paradise. All the staff are friendly and helpful and willing to help in any way they can. The activities on offer are endless but so are the steps to and from the beech. The restaurant has a vast choice food for all appetites. The town is a 10 minute walk down the hill but double that to get back or take water taxi back. No matter what there is sometimes for everyone here to do including relaxing and enjoying the sun with no stress.
