Spent a 10 night holiday here. Generously sized room, lovely shower. Daily cleaning and frequent clean laundry. Tea and coffee making never experienced in Greece before! Excellent breakfast choice. Lovely location. Our room was tucked away but could still see the sea. Noisy some nights but quiet after midnight. Would recommend.

Hotel's Favorite
We stayed at Castello for the 2nd time and we cannot fault them! The best room deluxe sea view with whirlpool absolutely amazing. Friendly staff everywhere, food amazing! Spotlessly clean! Everyone works so hard and always with a smile! In a perfect spot close to the town and harbour and Boufos Beach...only let down was no sunloungers or Parasols at the beach which was a real shame...but its nothing to do with this wonderful Resort! Love it so much so we booked again for next year....can't wait! Thank you so much to the Castello Village Resort staff...fantastic x

As others have pointed out, there is an unfinished apartment block next to Castello Village and a number of rooms look directly onto this at very close quarters. (Another reviewer has already posted photos.) Unfortunately these rooms are still being sold as 'sea view' rooms, despite the ugly outlook. We arrived after midnight and when we complained were told we would be moved in the morning. Next morning was a different story. The staff member we spoke to did everything they could to persuade us to stay put, then finally offered another room in four days time. We refused this very firmly and only then were we given a room with the sea view we had paid for. Obviously this was at someone else's expense and whoever arrived late that day lost out. This must be very stressful for the staff - why not just admit that these rooms have a poor outlook and sell them honestly? Instead, they are clearly used for late arrivals in the hope that they won't complain. Once settled in, we had no complaints at all - the hotel is spotlessly clean, staff are friendly and the breakfast buffet is plentiful and varied. However we could not forget the fact that we had been deliberately misled and for this reason I wouldn't recommend, unless you are sure you are getting what you pay for.

We stayed at the Castello Village Resort, Sisi between 18 and 29th September. The resort is a maze of paths. Each apartment has a front door to the outside. There are slopes and steps everywhere. Be careful if you have mobility issues. Lovely setting in a quiet fishing village. Staff fantastic and we enjoyed our stay. Our room was attended to daily and we were given fresh towels several times. The shower room was adequate and clean but the grouting and shower edge trims have seen better days. Also the sink plug did not work properly. At breakfast the (machine) orange juice, coffee and teas were not to our taste. There was a good variety of foods for a continental style breakfast and also a good range for a hot breakfast - including fried eggs, omelettes, crepes etc freshly cooked by the ever cheerful ‘Kalispera’ (our nickname for him as he met us warmly every evening with this Greek greeting.) I did not try my favourite scrambled eggs, however, as they looked grey and unappetising. At lunch and evening meals, salads were fresh and varied. Meats, occasionally tough, were served in many different sauces as were the fish and shellfish. Vegetables were often quite dry having sat too long in the hot trays. Pasta and lovely sauces were always available. There were chips too for those who enjoy them. It would have been helpful if the trays of food had been labelled at lunchtime. There was a different soup each evening but with the amount of leftover fish, meats and vegetables, these were rather bland and disappointing - apart from the minestrone which was great! The staff at reception were always friendly and helpful. In the dining room, Ervis was excellent - charming, attentive and competent - our drinks were on our table before we had even ordered them! Yolanna (not sure of spelling) was lovely - she served tables quickly and no matter how busy she was, she always managed to smile her beautiful smile. At the small pool cafe was Christina who deserves a special mention. Each morning of our stay, she unhinged security boards from the kiosk and took each one down several steep steps to a store (this procedure was reversed each evening). In spite of such a strenuous start to her day, Christina was always cheerful and friendly and she made our mornings so enjoyable. She is a very charismatic and efficient young lady. Her ice cold beers were wonderful in a perfect setting down by the sea. We got the impression that "all inclusive" were not the most welcome. A couple of days before the end of our holiday we were informed that cappuccino was no longer available to all inclusive. The main bar also gave us the feeling we weren't welcome.

This hotel is lovely, staff very friendly and helpful. Had B&B which was perfect as so many lovely restaurants near by. Breakfast was good a lot of choice. Nice pool area but not sure how it would be in the height of summer as not a lot of sun bed space for number of rooms. A few tweaks would improve experience ie soap dish, towel holders (being very petty). Would definitely stay again. Had the choice to go to the hotel opposite for a shower for our late check out which was excellent.

We have just returned from a ten night stay and I have nothing but positive things to say. We stayed B & B in a deluxe room with a sea view which was lovely. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. The hotel staff were friendly, helpful and courteous. The room was cleaned daily and the housekeeping staff did not arrive too early. The hotel is perfectly placed a five minute walk from the harbour with its shops, bars and restaurants. Boufos beach was a five minute walk in the opposite direction from the hotel. We booked day trips to Knossos Palace & Heraklion, Lassithi Plateau and best of all to Spinalonga. All in all we had a wonderful relaxing time and would not hesitate to recommend Sissi and the Castello Village Resort to friends s and family.

I will rank things 1 to 5. (5 being good.) Stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks. I would class it as a minimalist hotel. If they don't have to supply it they will not. No frills and whistles. We were tolerated more than welcomed. Had better in 2 and 3 star hotels. Pros: Location: In good in reach of small village with cafes, bars, shops, small decorative bay. 4 At least 3 good restaurants within the village. (Maybe more but no experience of them) Lots of other food outlets. 5 Irish bar and Jolly Roger in walking distance for reasonable drink. 5 Rooms are compact, but adequate. 3 Pool area good, but not enough umbrellas. 4 Outdoor Areas: Some Garden areas, trees 4 Supplies: supermarket opposite hotel entrance. 5 Reception: very helpful will book trips, restaurants, and taxis etc pleasant. 5 Road train well worth the trip. we did the Sissi 1 hour evening trip. Food worthy of note: Soups, Mussels, some of the meat dishes, fish, breakfast. See below. Cons: Food: medium quality at best, little choice at any one time' and monotonous, Some dishes unacceptable, prawns in a creamy sauce like rubber balls. Lots of pasta dishes with excess pasta lacking flavour. 1.5. Housekeeping: variable. UHT milk never replaced for morning drink . Shower gel replaced now and again. Persistent dust on various items. 2 Transfer: Despite Sissi being 35 minutes travel time. From landing at the airport it took 3 hours to get to the hotel, therefore all inclusive bar closed and had to pay for drinks despite delay not our fault. 1 Few people used the hotel bar at night. all inclusive drinks down graded. Most spirits between 20% and 30% so this gives you an idea of quality. Beer okay 3 Entertainment: a few nights only in this hotel, Tuesday night the African Tenors the only event of note no pun intended. Shows in opposite hotel Castello Boutique Hotel. Pay for any drinks. 1.5 Drinks: Priced on the high side. 2 Talisker whiskys on first night 15 euros. 1 Water: You have to supply your own water for tea/coffee in the morning. 3 Greek evening €24.00 pp. All inclusive customers expected to pay full price despite having already paid for a meal. No discount. 1 Staffing: lack of adequate staff. Restaurant manager needs some hospitality training. Having said that his hours were astronomical seen at breakfast , lunch and again at supper most days. Stairwells and tile very slippery. 2 Buy your water from the supermarket opposite. 3 I did get the impression all inclusive customers were virtually second class citizens. Compared to previous trip to Greece, Rhodes, Oceanis Park, same star rated hotel, this could only be called a pale comparison. Also the price of this holiday substantially higher than Rhodes.  Having written this over a few days I think the hotel lacks the atmosphere of the Oceanis

Fantastic hotel in a great location within Sissi. We stayed in room 155 at the front of the hotel, the room was clean tidy and regularly cleaned by friendly staff. The restaurant was very good and much better than expected, a wide range of food options, the staff were always friendly and helpful. Breakfast was always calm and relaxed with plenty of choice. Two pool, although we preferred the lower one as it overlooked the sea and had a lovely breeze. Evening entertainment was as expected and bar prices fair. If you want a bit more choice other options are just a short walk away, but you really don't need to! The staff in this hotel are fantastic and we wouldn't hesitate to return.

I havnt been away for 17 years so wasn't sure what to expect... and fair to say I wasn't disappointed with this hotel. Just what I wanted peace & quiet, so if that's what your looking for then this is perfect. Beautiful location looking at the sea, local walking distance to the restaurant and harbour. The hotel was very clean, food was lovely ( they do need a new toaster tho as it takes far too long to cook the toast) the staff & manager was very friendly and helpful. Especially the bar man Michael such a gentleman and made the most beautiful cocktails also the girls who did aerobic lessons every day were amazing I loved them such lovely girls and such fun doing the aerobics. The pool was lovely and big too. And our room was cleaned every day. We also went to there hotel opposite and had a spa day ( which you pay extra for reasonable price and so worth it ) also went on the happy train up to the mountains which you got to see the old town crete..so glad I did and wasn't expensive either definitely do it. Would highly recommend this place we was half board and even tho the food was nice I would go bed & breakfast next time as we liked to go out in the day/ evening to explore. So would miss out on dinners. My only criticism is that there isn't a lot of evening entertainment and the Greek night only runs one night a week which we was gutted as it was the night we was leaving apart from that it was a amazing holiday & hotel and was very sad to leave. Crete sissi you have my heart. Made amazing memories with my sister . Can't wait to go back 😍😊

My husband & I stayed B&B Sept 2022. Definitely agree Hotel is 3* & not 4* We paid extra for a Sea View room which we were not disappointed with. Our room was cleaned every day, fresh towel and bedding. However, we have stayed in 4* before and this hotel didn't quite have the style and elegance. Maybe a leaflet with the weekly activities & evening entertainment would help guests. Furnishings looked a little dated around the hotel. We didn't eat on evenings at the hotel so can't comment. Breakfast was average. We arrived early evening. The lady on reception was very helpful and helped carry one of our cases up the stairs to our room. Hotel is a warren of steps and pathways, mainly steps. I'm not to good on my feet, handrails would certainly help guests and make it safer. We loved the local area, the Jolly Roger pub just down from hotel has a singer on most evenings, mainly rock. Also in the opposite direction, the harbour has lovely little shops, restaurants and bars. The Catcus bar was one of our favourites. This area is definitely relaxed. Local trips are offered if you wish to explore.
