I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The room was fresh and felt clean. The hotel itself was so lovely, and the staff were too. It’s right on the beach and there were always plenty of sun loungers you could move onto the sand, grass or by the pool. The pool was also nice and warm. There were plenty of snacks, food and drinks always available!

We stayed for 8 nights during October half term. We absolutely loved it however just to note.... - end of season...packing things away for closure - not much for the children to do in kids club, as all packed up!! - housekeeping a bit ropey - evening entertainment was very limited as hotel was closing on the Sunday, we left on the Friday - very limited space for clothing - no drawers. We kept most items on the ledges around the room Everything else was great, especially the staff & food. Our girls cried when we left to come home!!

Lovely secluded beach and relaxing atmosphere. Very friendly and genuine staff on the pool side bar/ restaurant/ reception. Quality cocktails on the all inclusive. Very tasty food including stifado on the lunch buffet. To make the hotel even better would suggest having more lighting by the seating area in the evenings and provide guests with a pot of coffee on the table at breakfast which always gets a big plus.

Honest review!! Just got back from a weeks stay at the Meli Palace as a family of three (2 adults, 1 teenager!) I will start with the positives - location is lovely and peaceful surrounded by mountains but overlooking the sea and the private beach. Hotel lobby and seating area outside is modern and clean. Check in / out was easy and relatively quick. We unfortunately had a problem with our room on the first night and after a quick trip to reception in the morning the manager sorted us a new room within an hour which we really appreciated. The food was lovely and all three of us found something to eat whenever we ate in the main restaurant. Having some named branded spirits at the bar was good and the juices didn’t seem to be the super fake “made from concentrate” ones which was nice. Always found a sun-lounger either down on the beach or by the pool, it was hit and miss how quickly the beds would be taken! There was a husband and wife duo working in the main restaurant and they were fantastic (I can’t remember their names) they were always smiling amongst the chaos and stopped to chat…the lady also made the best lattes which was great! She gave us all a hug goodbye on our last evening 🙂 Unfortunately we thought there were a few negatives. The main one - the beds….genuinely never slept on a mattress so uncomfortable and we all had very minimal sleep throughout our stay. The bedrooms and bathrooms are in desperate need of refurbishment- hotel is marketed as 4 star and the accommodation is definitely is not that level. The only bar that’s open during the day is the one by the kids pool and if you want a quiet coffee up in the lobby area you have to go down to the beach to have a coffee in a paper cup as we were told we couldn’t take “real cups” away from the seating area which is next to the kids pool….not very quiet and relaxing! For the size of the hotel I really think the lobby bar should be open all day for people who want to stay at the top end of the hotel away from the beach / pool. Breakfast - was unorganised chaos!! I’m not sure if the hotel thinks table service for drinks makes the hotel 4 star but it just creates frustration for staff and guests. Being seated then having to wait for a waitress to take your order then bring your drink (in a tiny shot glass size glass!) was VERY frustrating. Many days we waited 20 minutes plus just to have our drinks order taken. Staff are running back and forth trying to fill drinks orders (that unfortunately often came wrong as they were trying to serve so many tables at once) A lot of the staff looked fed up and and there was clear tension many days when they were snapping at each other and a few guests. It seems the hotel do this to stem the amount of drinks guests have at meal times - not what I would expect from a 4 star resort! Having self serve drinks for breakfast would immediately alleviate the stress and chaos meaning staff could focus on clearing tables and seating guests and not look so harassed when this is obviously the busiest meal time. Men are instructed to wear long trousers in the evening for the restaurant and although I can see that the hotel is trying to create a classier atmosphere with this I feel it’s abit wasted, I understand requesting guests to come smartly dressed but I saw many men in nice dress shorts etc who looked fine. If the whole hotel was a clear 5star environment I would fully understand the long trouser rule but when there are stray cats wandering around the restaurant and screaming children running around it just seems abit odd! The last thing is at night the seating area outside of the lobby bar isn’t sufficient, it was packed every night and if you wanted to enjoy the entertainment you were lucky to get a seat or you would end up sat inside by reception. The lighting outside is also very poor….definitely need abit more in the evening. To finish, we had a nice trip as getting away from home for a week is always good but I wouldn’t return to Meli Palace. With some significant investment in the bedrooms / bathrooms and a restructure of the staffing at meal times etc I do think it could be a nice 4 star hotel.

It’s taken me a while to review this hotel but I wanted to make sure I did, as we had a brilliant fortnight here at the end of July/start of August. I travelled with my husband and two children (age 9 and 11). The whole site is just beautiful. The view from the restaurant and terrace is amazing, especially when the sun goes down. The beach is not private but it may as well be as it doesn’t lead anywhere, so no one comes onto the beach except hotel guests. It always has plenty of sun beds, whatever time of day and these can be pulled onto the grassy area or left on the sand, depending on how near the sea you want to be. The pool is a little busier and some days we were able to get sun beds as late as 9.30am, yet there were a couple of days where they were all taken by 7.30am. It never worried us though as we knew we’d get beds on the beach (even though we are generally pool people). The site feels so safe for the children to wander around by themselves as the hotel is at the end of a long drive, and is spacious yet compact too in terms of never being far from your room. The food was fantastic. Always different options and something for everyone. Proper honey dripping from a hive (I can’t think of the proper name!) at breakfast. The main man on the restaurant was so welcoming and always chatted to my son, challenging him to finish his Rubix cube (still not managed it!) The staff in general were just so fantastic, always so hardworking and helpful. My son was being silly one evening and ended up throwing his flop flop in the splash pool by accident and the lovely lady at the downstairs bar hooked it out for him. So kind. The evening entertainment was the same as any similar resort, some people expect too much, we enjoyed it. Some evening lights by the table tennis/kids play area would be a great addition if I were to change anything. Plus some extra tables on the top terrace by the restaurant as these were often full of an evening. I’d also really like these tables separated into non smoking and smoking. I really can’t believe how many people still smoke. The local village of Sissi was walkable but no proper pavement so a bit uncomfortable walking back in the dark. Shame, but obviously no reflection on the hotel and plenty of people got cabs there and back instead if they wanted a change of scenery. Thanks Meli Palce, you made our summer! We would definitely return, however my daughter is now 12 and this hotel considers that as an adult, so we could no longer afford to return due to needing two rooms (according to booking pages anyway, personally we’d be fine with the accommodation we had this year). Highly recommend.

The hotel is in a fantastic location with its own private beach. If you are looking for total relaxation and wanting to stay in one place this is the hotel for you. The grounds and surrounding areas of hotel are well maintained and clean. The beach area is lovely, plenty of sunbeds and enough space for everyone, pool area is nice too. If you need to leave the hotel you can walk to sissi in about 20 minutes or a taxi is 7 euros, its a lovely little village with plenty of bars and restaurants. I'd also recommend a visit to Taverna Kalyva which you can get to by walking over the rocks towards potomas beach, about a 10 min walk. The staff were all extremely friendly and hardworking,a real credit to the hotel. Rooms were fine, maybe need a little attention to the bathroom but very clean. If we had any slight negatives, it would be the food, whilst plentiful and varied it was probably not the finest however you will not go hungry. Also the wi-fi was not great in the room but was fine in lobby area and(surprisingly) at the beach. We would definitely come back.

Very beautiful hotel with it's own little beach. Most remarkable to us were 1) how incredibly friendly and positive all of the staff, but especially the waiters were despite a lots and lots of work, 2) the animateurs and fitness coaches (especially Denica doing the greatest job at Yoga, Pilates and Aqua Gym!) plus the evening shows and 3) the amazing mediterranean kitchen. Thank you so much for this amazing holiday!

Clean, chic hotel, excellent food (go for quality, not quantity), enough variety. Lots of seafood cooked very well. Impeccable service. The rooms have old furniture and outdated bathrooms, but the common spaces are very modern. The great asset of the hotel, from our point of view, is the location, the fact that there are no buildings around it. There are wild beaches and walking trails on both sides of the beach. The atmosphere in the hotel is one of total relaxation, there is a positive energy and an ideal environment for resting and recharging your batteries. For those who want to relax, enjoy the sea and the Greek atmosphere, this is the ideal hotel! I highly recommend!

just in the process of checking out after 2 weeks...on balance my partner and I really enjoyed the holiday and will probably book the same two weeks next year. loved the private beach and pool area. Also all the effort the staff made to make us feel welcome...thought the animation staff worked really hard. On the negative side food although fresh and plentiful was a bit bland especially on the second week, but guess that's the problem with all inclusive. atmosphere could also be a bit flat some evenings...but that might be down to the fact we stayed towards the end of season? Like I say, can't fault animation staff who worked incredibly hard. Would recommend a couple of trips to Sissi or Malia, and maybe eat out a couple of times....but they're really niggles and possibly more of a personal thing.

Loved our stay at the Melli Palace, good food, premium spirits on the all inclusive and friendly staff. Sisi is just up the road and costs 7 euros in a taxi and is a very relaxed little town with good restaurants and bars. The free unpowered water sports is a bit misleading though as there is literally 1 pedelo and two kayaks. We were a bit disappointed on our last day when we had to be out of our room by midday and even though our pick up wasn’t until 6:45 pm there was no where to get a shower or change ready for our journey home. Also for a hotel that is supposed to cater for families they have no baby changing facilities.
