Thing is, when you claim something that you are not, you will get disappointed guests. This is a decent hotel, but there are to many things just not of 5 star standard: -Bedlinnen reminded me of what is used in an NHS hospital. Could we have duvets please? -Breakfast just about ok. Why not freshly made pancakes and waffles? Pancakes...

If you are looking for a luxury stay in a quiet location this is the hotel for you. The rooms, food and friendly attentive staff are excellent. Situated in Sissi near the village within a short walk from the hotel is a pretty harbour with many bars and restaurants. Also there are two small beach areas within walking distance. Everyone...

We were late as EasyJet could not take off due to the weather, they kept us strapped in for 2 hrs on the GATWICK runway, that is another story. We arrived at the hotel at 2am to be welcomed by Rania, a cold meal had been left in our room. That set the tone for the rest of the week. All...

Very much enjoyed our stay here, a perfect hotel for a quiet relaxing week in a pretty, sleepy harbour town. There are plenty of sun lounger so no towels at dawn issues. The mezzanine bedroom nice but could benefit from having a loo upstairs. The beds were very comfy and the room nice and dark - slept like babies. The...

Have just returned from a week at the Costello and as others have mentioned this hotel does not really rate 5*s, though I wouldn't be so up myself to state that the majority of reviewers have never stayed in a 'proper' 5* hotel and it was easy to spot those who have, as one reviewer has posted. Some people do...

We had a great time at this lovely hotel. The room was spacious and well equipped with good views. The pool area is a very pleasant garden area overlooked by a church. Pool is not huge but big enough for the relatively small number of people in the hotel. The other reviews have talked about the staff and they are...

thoroughly recommend this Hotel. Staff were always very friendly and helpful; reception area clean and welcoming, reception staff always helpful and smiling; pool side area never crowded, pool a little cold but ok once fully submerged; always a good selection of food of good quality available at breakfast and dinner; the bar area nice to sit around and Angelo's cocktails...

We enjoyed our short stay at this hotel. Its a pretty good standard for Greece but in my opinion not 5*. We found the staff were pleasant and helpful, and the food was OK. We had a suite room which had a nice seating area, bathroom and balcony, with the bed on a mezzanine level above. (Nice idea unless you...

The Castello has facilities good enough to get a (Greek) 5 star rating. It also has great staff. Unfortunately the level of service and finishing touches fall way below 5 star standards. We are fortunate enough to have stayed in excellent 5 star hotels in the Far East and South Africa in recent years, mostly around the same price level...

We're just back from 10 days half board at this hotel but it really doesn't deserve a five star rating. There are lots of little niggles that all add up. Guests must carry their own luggage, the rooms are very Spartan with scratchy blankets instead of duvets. The food in the hotel is not great, in fact the breakfasts are...

“Rooms are really spacious and super clean but the curtains need a rethink. If it's possible cost wise I would certainly plump for a room with a private pool. ”
