Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
The Castello Boutique Resort & Spa is celebrated for its friendly and professional service, with guests frequently returning due to the commendable staff. The rooms are generally admired for their spaciousness and cleanliness, though a few issues have surfaced. While the spa treatments and amenities receive high marks, and the central location near attractions is appreciated, some guests have raised concerns about the breakfast and pool facilities. The hotel's atmosphere is welcoming, with live music contributing to a modern vibe, although the volume has been a point of contention for some. Guests find value in the a la carte menu and spa services, but there are occasional worries regarding unexpected charges.

The hotel is in a lovely location and we had a beautiful view of the church as we’d upgraded to a pool view. The room was spacious and well equipped. There was a kettle and fridge and the tea and coffee were refreshed daily. The bed was comfortable, as were the pillows. Slept well. The bathroom has double basins and the toiletries were kept stocked up. If you like a proper blow dry I’d recommend taking your own hairdryer. The cleaner came daily and kept the room beautifully clean. The whole hotel was kept very clean. Every member of staff we interacted with were welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was really good but food in the evening wasn’t. We were half board but ate out 5 nights due to the poor food. The dining room is more like a canteen and not a restaurant experience as I would have expected from a 5 star hotel. The pool area is well kept and very clean. The majority of the sun beds are on a lawned area which although it had not rained the lawn was muddy and this got into your footwear and all over the towels. The hotel is at what I would say is the nicest side of Sissi. Shops, bars and restaurants are within a 5 minute walk. Overall the hotel, staff and location are excellent. It is just the dining room and food in the evening that let it down. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the hotel but would go Bed and breakfast.

This is a lovely hotel and perfect for a relaxing holiday. The whole ambience is very laid back and chilled with attentive but not over bearing staff. We had a room with a private pool which was great, the rooms are large, our aircon was the most efficient and quiet unit I’ve ever had abroad. The rooms are well equipped, fridge, espresso machine, tea making facility, TV and large bathroom with walk in shower, very clean and done every day with robes, room towels and beach towels changed daily or on request. The location was very quiet other than the church bells on Sunday morning which is quite the wake up. Sissi itself is quite small, everywhere within walking distance and nice souvenir shops, tavernas and plenty of car, bike and quad bike hire options. There are plenty of sun beds round the main pool area with pergolas as well, the whole place is immaculately kept.

Definitely not a 5 start hotel. Reception staff generally poor. Bar staff and cleaners friendly. Coffee slow at breakfast more tinned fruit than fresh fruit, orange juice not very nice.. Hi speed Wifi poor. Air conditioning leaked twice across whole room in night and leaked above your head at reception where you sat, Plaster coming off walls in bedroom.

Our second visit to Castello Boutique Resort this year and it was a lovely, welcome break for us. The staff are so wonderful and would do anything to help you with any queries you may have. Loved our room and the entertainment we had at the hotel. Didnt use the spa this time but we enjoyed the pool to cool off in. Hotel was spotlessly clean, absolutely no complaints there. There were plenty of sunbeds to be had but there seemed to be a bit of a sun bed war going on with 2 couples claiming the same sunbeds everyday with the usual towel going down and them going off for breakfast etc. My gripe about the sunbed area would be that the grassy area was turning into a mud bath by the time we were going home. We loved all the staff and their fun nature, too many to mention but we hope to see you all again next year. Not a big complaint but the food could have been hotter! Till the next time, have a nice end of season break! Karen and John McK

We booked this trip through Jet2 Holidays and were attracted by the fact that the hotel was described as "An award-winning 5-star, adults only, luxury hotel" that offered an "exceptional culinary experience". Initail impressions were excellent as we arrived very late in the day yet the hotel had prepared some cold plates of food for us to eat on arrival and the staff on duty were very welcoming. The room we were allocated was really nice, clean and comfortable with lots of space and a big balcony over looking the garden and pool area. Overall the hotel was high quality with a contemporary feel. Clean and well maintained. The hotel had it's own very nice little Spa which we made use of for a swim in the small indoor pool and to have a massage. Staff here were very friendly and helpful as were all the staff we encountered in bars, restaurants and reception. Pool and surrounding are was great with plenty of sunbeds. The only slight issue was that the grassed area for most of the sunbeds could get a little muddy. The biggest disappointment was the food. In my opinion it was not what I would expect from a 5* hotel and did not come close to a 5* hotel we stayed at in Dubrovnik last year. The breakfast was passable although the hot dishes were unappetising the cold food was better. The evening buffet was reminiscent of canteen food and we resorted to eating out for at least have the stay. I know they offered an a la carte menu as a paid option but were did not feel this was worth the risk. So, in summary a lovely hotel in an OK location with excellent staff but let down by the catering.

5 star? Not a chance Food - I read some positive reviews but I either wonder what people are eating or what ‘5-star’ standards really are.  buffet was ok for breakfast but very bad for  dinner. I get it, it’s a buffet, but the standard is poor.  I tried a la carte also. It was great. So, I suggest you book as many bed and breakfast as possible so you can have good food. Yeta will help you choose the best wine also. She was so professional and fantastic. She had us full of smiles and laughter our entire stay. Pool - I do not understand why there is not a bigger pool with more sun beds rest . Andrea's, George, Sam, Eva all deserve a special mention. They all were very helpful and attentive to every need. It's nice to see young people so professional. Thank you all.

Our first time in Greece and I'm so glad I chose this hotel. Could not fault it. Beautiful, clean hotel with the best staff. Booked a double room with private pool. Pool was a little cold as we only got the sun in the morning but still lots of fun. We has a view of a beautiful church and on Saturday night and Sunday morning, the church bells chimed. Breakfast was lovely with lots of choice. Only ate at the restaurant once as wanted to eat out but food was very good. Indoor pool was fantastic. Lots of different features like jacuzzi, waterfall etc. The best part was the staff. So friendly. I had a moped accident and the two lovely ladies on reception looked after me, cleaned me up and made sure I went to the medical center. I didn't get their names but they were wonderful. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely modern hotel. The staff are so friendly and the facilities are spotlessly clean. Nice big bedrooms and en suite. Probably not a 5 star hotel but with a bit of improvement could easily get there - specifically; the breakfast offering is ok but not special, many of the umbrellas were broken and meant people starting reserving beds, the sun garden was saturated and turning to mud. Overall thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return.

Just arrived home from a brilliant stay. Located in a finishing harbour village which has plenty restaurants and bars without the touristy feel. Beautiful places to visit at sunset! Supermarket right next to the hotel with everything you’d need. We had a room with private pool which was excellent. Perfectly clean, coffee machine, comfy bed, jacuzzi bath and separate shower. Gorgeous view out over the church - which you may be lucky enough to hear the bells on a weekend! Fantastic friendly and helpful staff throughout the hotel. Bar staff kindly made drinks that weren’t on the menu (and the menu was extensive!). Saxophone entertainment was brilliant, as was the violinist. However more evening entertainment would have been nice but I’m aware it’s just a small hotel and late in the season. Gym and spa on site but we didn’t use so can’t comment. Main pool area has plenty sunbeds and parasols and is a lovely peaceful environment. The food on a lunch time (at the pool bar) was excellent, good variety, huge portions. However the buffet evening meal needs some work and was the only slight downside to our stay. Food a bit samey and would expect better given how good the hotel is in every other area. As a result we ended up eating out mostly. We absolutely would return to this hotel, perfectly located and a very relaxing stay. Thank you again!
