I was in Anchorage for business and stayed at the Fairfield Inn. Staff was curtious and helpful at check in. The room is nice and clean. Summer in Anchorage without good blackout curtains is a pain. These are not good blackout curtains. Sleep can be managed. The grounds are clean and in good repair. Ok

I come to Alaska about five times a year for business. I usually MARRIOTT properties choose first because of rewards points. The hotel rooms are clean, rooms or slightly on the small side but acceptable. The staff is always helpful and friendly and interact with them about dining suggestions...

An unexpected stay due to cancelled flights. Diane the GM was great and paid for my cab when the airport shuttle forgot me. Rooms were adequate, clean enough and the bed was fine, breakfast OK. I would stay here again.

Today in a very uncomfortable situation where I knew something was not right the moment I walked in the room. I was looking forward to having my breakfast after my work out session. The second I walked in, I noticed two individuals who seemed very unstable or for a better lack of word, not sober. The female “guest” is clearly under the influence because she could not even stand still. She was swaying like another 7.0 quake is causing the floor to shake. Her face is tattered with open blisters normally found in people who use meth. Her hands and fingernails are dirty and blackened. Her clothes smelled of nicotine cigarettes. Tau, the lady host seem very uneasy by their presence, lack of confidence and power to ask for for their names and room number. After 15 minutes of observing them, going back and forth. Touching everything insight, they finally loaded up plates of food to take back to their “room”. I happen to notice them again walking across the Motel 6 next door and get in the elevator. Tau, the lady host came up to me and we had a conversation. I asked if that is allowed, and what is the policy to handle this kind of situation. I can tell she was afraid to ask them for their names and room number in fear of confrontation. I told her to never fear doing the right thing. Her job is to make sure the guest safety and security are a priority. I did not feel sucure. Most likely, I will never eat there or stay in this hotel ever again in fear of my health and safety. Unfortunately, homeless and drug addicts do not have the greatest hygiene. My biggest fear is contracting hepatitis by these “guest”. I will have a conversation with GM Diane Bates regarding my feedback and if she will implement a stricter check in before dining and empower her team members handling these of kinds of situation moving forward. As a Platinum Elite member for years, I know we deserve better.
