We stayed here on the last night of our trip to Alaska. Dingy, old and falling apart. This hotel is not worth a stay. Continental breakfast left much to be desired. Thin walls, plumbing sounds from nearby rooms and flimsy door made this a miserable stay. Find something better!
I had an arrival time of 9:30pm at Lakeshore Inn & Suites. At 1:30pm that day I found out the my flight was canceled. I immediately called Lakeshore to cancel my reservation but they refused to cancel my reservation because I didn't give them 24 hour notice. So I was charged in full for the room. They were not understanding of my situation whatever. It was bad enough that my flight was canceled and I had to make other arrangement but do also be charged for a room for something what was out of my control.
Couldn't believe how dirty the room was. Would never stay here again. It's like they just changed the sheets (maybe) and that was it. Sleeping on a bench in the airport would have been better! Dirty shower, dirty carpet, dust, dirty refrigerator etc.
Stay away from this place, it’s a DUMP! I had to get a room in Anchorage on a Friday night in July. Short notice but it was the best I could do. I hated to spend the money but for $300 or so I thought I would at least get a nice room. Can’t remember paying so much for so little. Hairs and dirty lint on the sheets. Duct tape on the windows, old coffee in the pot, the place was nasty. I tried to get a refund but that wasn’t going to happen. The lady told me I should go to the Marriott where the guests clean their own rooms. Certainly I was paying Marriott prices. If I had known what I was paying for we would have slept in the car. I keep hearing about how “We can’t get anyone to work.” Are they paying these people? For $300 a day I’d make those rooms shine. I contacted the owner never heard back. Keep your money and sleep in your car. Had I known, I would have.…
Thank God for this place. They offer shuttle service to and from the airport. The front desk and the driver that picked us up was so friendly and helpful. We felt safe walking around the area. Out from the airport you can walk to see float planes. The room was very clean and included a fan to put in the window. Breakfast was included but we had such an early flight out that we did not get to participate and rate this. If I go back to Anchorage, I would definitely return to this Inn.
We needed a hotel for one night before flying out the next morning. I wish we would've spent a little more for some place better. There's no elevator, so if you're staying on a second floor, be prepared to haul your luggage up and down the steps. The staff was ok, but understaffed. We got locked out of the hotel because they use actual keys and didn't tell us that they locked the doors at 11:00 pm, but also the desk clerk runs the shuttle at 11:00. It was a short wait and a minor inconvenience, but frustrating that we just didn't know about it. Continental breakfast was minimal. They did have a freezer available to store our frozen halibut catch before going to the airport. Room was very basic and mostly clean.
Place was clean, rooms were pretty basic. The beds were much too soft, but we were very tired from a long flight so it didn’t matter. Breakfast was limited for the price, but this is Alaska. The pickup from the airport was quick, and the driver was interesting to talk to. We’ll probably stay here again on our next visit.
We highly recommend this hotel! The staff is so so nice and helpful! They accommodated us every time we asked for something. The room was clean and comfortable. It is close to all the services and the airport. We enjoyed our stay!
My family visited Alaska in July 2020. We had our Covid tests done at the airport and then stayed at the Lakeshore Inn. They were very understanding with us not knowing when we would be able to check out and even upgraded us to a corner room so that our daughter did not have to sleep in the same room. It is not a fancy hotel, but was clean and friendly. It is located right around the corner from the airport. I plan on staying there again when I make it back to Anchorage.
I stayed here for a 4 day trip to look for a house in Anchorage. This is inn is very clean! The staff is very friendly. Simple breakfast with cereal, oatmeal, and toaster waffles. It does have a shuttle to and from the airport. For the price, it's perfect for a family to come stay if you are flying in for a cruise or any great adventure. There is a lake across the street. If you want to order out, grubhub delivers. I haven't checked into uber or lyft, but they might help alleviate the need to rent a car. I really am impressed with how neat and clean this place it. There are cameras everywhere so if you have a car, it is well watched! Someone is always at the front desk and quick to answer questions.
