Like a lot of people who are flying nowadays, 6 of us traveling together to a family reunion recently had a flight from Anchorage to Seattle completely cancelled by Alaska Airlines with only about an hours notice. Since this flight was connecting with several other flights, some on other airlines, to get us to Florida we were a little stressed. However, the gate attendant with Alaska Airlines did a wonderful job of setting us up with hotel and meal vouchers. We were shuttled to the Dimond Center Hotel at 2:00 AM and these weary travelers were greeted by a cheerful, knowledgeable and helpful front desk staff. The accommodations were comfortable, quiet and the breakfast provided the next morning was wonderful. An airport return shuttle was provided and we were on our way! Highly recommend this hotel to any travelers.…
I came for a conference but a friend came along because I hate traveling long distance by myself; traveled from Ft Lauderdale ( near Miami) to Anchorage. We found this hotel thru American Express travel-so glad we did. The room was a nice size - we had plenty of room even with the roll away bed. We both felt our bed was very comfortable. Her roll away bed had one of those magic foam mattresses and she found it very comfortable and eased her chronic back pain. I liked the large soaking tub especially given the nice hot water. My friend, a shower person, liked the hot baths. The only issue was the large privacy window that separates the big tub from the room. That’s fine when it’s a couple not so great when friend but it worked out - it really did obscure from seeing anything but you could hear a lot. The breakfast was nice and included many options. There was fruit, bread, muffins, bagels, cheese, cereals and the like for the vegetarians. For others there was always a main meal with eggs, meat ie sausage etc. There are also boiled eggs, juices, coffees, tests etc. All included. The real delight, as mentioned by others, is Ron. He is the main driver of their transport bus- a great service in and of itself. They pick you up from the airport and take you back- no additional charge. Also, as schedule allows they will drop you off at your conference etc. Ron is full of knowledge of the area and he’s like having your own personal tour guide. He’s interesting and fun. What an asset the is to Dimond! So we’re the house keepers and front desk staff. These folks have customer service right. If I ever come to Alaska again, I know where I’m staying. I hope they will have the same great staff!!…
Ron was very helpful and made our trip enjoyable to the hotel. I have to say I also love his choice of music. Ron was also very informative of what was happening locally. Thanks Ron for being there for us.
Ron the shuttle driver was really nice picked us up from the airport and was prompt! Nice smooth ride. He was funny and gave us directions to places close to us. Thanks Ron! Thanks diamond for the service
Alright, I know that sounds silly… but no joke Ron is a lifesaver. He is friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and RELIABLE. He will make sure you need to get where you need to go! Thank you for all you do Ron!
We chose Dimond Center Hotel as our base as we move out of state. We like the size of the rooms, the location, and the ease of staying here. I would consider this a family-friendly/business facility and recommend it to anyone needing a clean and quiet stay. We were disappointed that the restaurant isn't open, but there are plenty of close choices. The staff were friendly and helpful, from the front desk to the housekeeping staff and Ron the shuttle driver. Great attitudes, ready to help, and very professional.
We ended up booking with this hotel because we decided to extend our Alaska vacation and everything in downtown was booked. I'm glad we chose this hotel; it was way better than the downtown Sheraton that we had stayed at during the beginning of our vacation. They offer shuttle service to/from the airport, free continental breakfast and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I loved that they had unique Alaskan art in the lobby and in the room. The room was very spacious, bed was comfortable and there were nice finishes (granite counters, tile floors). Microwave, coffee maker were available. The location was also very convenient: Walmart and the mall are next door, several restaurants were within a short walking distance and the local metro bus service is just steps away. It cost us $2.50 per person for a senior (over 60) day pass on the bus; it was a 30 minute ride to downtown and from there we could easily meet up with local tour companies. On Saturdays and Sundays during the summer, the Anchorage Market is held next door, where local food and arts/crafts are offered for sale. Traveler tip: Walmart has an Alaska souvenir section where you can buy shirts, calendars, mouse pads and other inexpensive souvenirs.…
A decent hotel near restaurants and grocery store. Served a good breakfast in pleasant atrium. Much appreciated assistance from Ron, hotel's shuttle driver. Did us big favor. Clean, well managed. Rooms could be better insulated and soundproofed.
The hotel Dimond breakfast was kept hot and fresh and well stocked by both Susan and Rose. The dining area very clean and they both were so friendly. If you had any request and they could they would accommodate.
We had a wonderful stay! Comfortable room with such nice employees. Ron especially stands out! He went above and beyond to help us with things to see, do and great advice on where to eat! We were picked up very quickly from the airport. I would highly recommend the Dimond Center Hotel.
