Lovely b&b with friendly hosts, amazing blueberry pancakes for breakfast, comfy beds, good WiFi, lovely lounge areas, off-street parking, out of downtown but handy to shops. Small bathroom to share but fully equipped.

Rooms were musty, beds were uncomfortable, and the place wasn't well maintained. We called weeks in advance to confirm what breakfast consisted of, and most of what was listed wasn't served. Breakfast consisted of 1.5 small, overcooked pancakes/person and toast w/ jelly. They tried to add tax on top of a reservation which stated the complete total, and double charged... More

The European B&B is more like a hostel with breakfast than a B&B. It was hard to tell but they are renting out at least 4 bedrooms but only with 2 SMALL, outdated bathrooms that you must share with up to 8 people. A previous user left her hair in the shower drain (not fun cleaning that out) and another... More

It is funny how things that we see as failures can turn into so positive experiences. We got to this amazingly friendly B&B only because the hostel we had booked did not honor our reservation. Not only had we great rooms, food and surrounding but also were treated by Bert, the Dutch host, as friends. Absolutely worth visiting!

Stayed for a week. Room was dirty, flyscreens broken, proprietor unhelpful. Kitchen dirty, breakfast average. Didn't have promised private bathroom. Public transport distant. When we complained about flying insects, proprietor barged into room without knocking and told us we'd made it up!

I've stayed here a few times. The plusses: you're not in noisy downtown, it's a quiet neighborhood close to UAA, the owner is lovely. The minuses: small place that depending, can feel cramped, where everyone is on top of one another. I've had some nice breakfasts in the past, but the recent experience was pretty limited to say the least.... More

Bait and switch: watch out! shared bathrooms; quoted prices are CASH prices (but you won't know that until it's time to pay); breakfast is carbs, no meat; rooms are shabby and noisy. We stay in B&B's often because we get more local flavor from our visit. We've had interesting, curious, and questionable experiences, but this was the worst experience we... More

I love to stay at b and bs. You come our with so much more local knowledge than anywhere else, but having an ex travel agent for a host is a bonus! I can't speak highly enough of our accomodation - he had the African room for one night and the Alaska room for one other and we were SO... More

We stayed at the B&B for 4 uncomfortable nights. The place was well reviewed on Trip Advisor, but we found our experience disappointing. We stayed in the Holland room, which is basically in the basement with a window that gives you a lawn-level view. It was shabby and more than a little dirty. A single bed was pushed up against... This B&B was a disappointment. My friend and I had a small room in what felt like a small house. The bathroom was not clean or updated. In addition, someone walked in on me both in the evening and in the morning (the bathroom lock was not reliable). While the caretaker is pleasant and breakfast is good, my friend sat... More
