Very stingy hotel will not give out complimentary bottles of water meanwhile charging $229.00 per night. Every other hotel has at least two complimentary water bottles waiting for you in the rooms or the hand them to you at check-in. This place will sell you a small water bottle for Unbelievable amount $$ that makes price gouging look like charity. Very disappointed 🙁
Our family has had the privilege to travel around the world and stay at several Marriott establishments. The Anchorage location stands out. Ms. Adriana McCreary, the front office supervisor, and her entire staff welcomed us after a long day on the Alaska Railroad. These Marriott employees are tough to beat. The lobby restaurant/bar was also quite tasty and had attentive staff. Simply outstanding! This hotel's staff provided a traveler's desire to feel home even thousands of miles away.
I’m a Platinum Elite Marriott member and I’ve stayed in several locations. To say this Marriott was disappointing is an understatement. I’m glad I used points instead of cash! The room was dated, the wash clothes had stray hair on 2 of them, there was hair in the bathroom floor & shower, the walls were so thin that we heard the neighbors alarm, the concierge lounge was closed due to covid (not their fault) and they offered nothing in its place (most have offered a complimentary breakfast in the restaurant), and the ceiling & base boards were super dusty. If this was cleaned more for covid, I’d hate to see it in its normal stare. Only perks were the view & walking distance to restaurants. Definitely a one and done...skip it & try another hotel.
We generally stay in Marriott hotels worldwide, and in comparison, the rooms here are much more basic. But Anchorage is sort of a no-frills place in many ways. The staff is efficient though, and the rooms are clean. The concierge was extremely helpful. The charge for parking was quite high. We used street parking and walked since parking was readily available in the wintertime. This hotel is within walking distance of restaurants and shopping and convenient to the airport. The views from the upper floors of the city and Cook Inlet were very pretty.
Attended the conference for school district. Charged a large incidental charge upon arrival and because the parking was not free,I used the valet service. The hotel lodging is exquisite and lovely; however, it is the amenities, such as parking, that keep me from offering a stellar review.
