I had a last minute trip to visit family in Anchorage. I was referred to Jarvi Home Stay and am so glad! I was welcomed like I was a friend! Mary and Dan looked out for me, sharing places they recommended I visit with my cousin and checked in each day to hear about my adventures. The breakfasts were tremendous! I’m diabetic and Mary made sure to have a variety of foods that were tasty and a great start to the day. I particularly enjoyed their puppy who curled up next to me as I watched tv or read. As a woman traveling alone, I felt very comfortable and safe at the Jarvi Home Stay. It was spotless and very comfortable. There were great restaurants nearby - a short drive away, about 1.5 miles. The area around the home was great for walking. I enjoyed a 2 mile neighborhood walk each morning before I started my day. I really enjoyed my visit to Jarvi Home Stay and look forward to returning for future visits.

I can attest to ten delightful trips to Anchorage. Jarvi Homestay hosts provide a warm and cozy base camp for visitors! Accommodations are clean and comfortable. Jarvi Homestay is strategically located for easy trips north, south, east and west. Longtime residents, Dan and Mary enjoy welcoming new people to Alaska and making resources available to enhance your trip.

Comfortable living area in the walk-out basement for B&B guests, separate from family living quarters. Delicious breakfasts including home-made muffins to fuel your day. Absolutely the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in!!

Gracious, welcoming hosts with tips for where to go and what to do in Anchorage and surrounding communities. So interesting to talk with both Mary and Dan!!

We were lucky enough to get in last minute on a weekend. Mary and Dan are very kind and welcoming. The breakfasts were delicious and filling. We had to share a bathroom with the other guests, but that was not an issue (especially since there are only two rooms). They are cash only, so stop by the ATM first.

This Bed and Breakfast donated their entire house to a group of 13 Marines who were headed to Mcgrath in search of our brother who went missing on the Kuskokwim. Even though I showed up at 1am and only was able to sleep until 5am due to our flight out, it was warm, comfortable and welcoming. Would highly recommend this to anybody traveling on through. Will be back when I can.

The accommodations are top notch and Jarvi Homestay offers an ideal location - head north and you are in Anchorage, look south and you have the wild of Alaska and the Turnagain Arm - wow!

Mary & Dan are great hosts so whether you want "or need" privacy or you are looking for the best of Alaska they are expert guides that know the city and the state. The food and the coffee (and I love coffee) match the ambiance - you simply want more.

We like B&B's because when they are done well they match the feel and knowledge of being local with unique amenities that make you feel comfortable and really good like family - Mary & Dan run a fabulous B&B - and it is obvious that they love what they do and where they live.

If you were to look up the definition of hospitality in the dictionary and you couldn’t do much better than to describe the welcome one gets at Jarvi Homestay. From the moment we arrived, to the minute that we reluctantly pulled out 3 days later, we were treated like family. Our hosts were totally sensitive to the balance of our needs for privacy with our equally strong pleasure in listening to and sharing stories, of getting an insider’s view of life in Alaska. Coffee lovers- it doesn’t get any better than the individually brewed fresh cappuccino, and the hot tub might be just what you need after a long day on the trail, or a day spent looking about in town. Oh, and the location. Just a very short drive to Turnagin Arm on Cook Inlet and the fabulous birding spot- Potter’s Marsh. We’ll be back as soon as we can.

Dan and Mary open their home so you become part of the family! Super nice people who make your stay feel like home. Together they make a great breakfast to get you going and local knowledge of sights to see with many local contacts to give you a personal touch as well.

We took our grandson to Alaska for his senior trip and had a blast on ATV’s, river rafting, glacier explorations and much more

Highly recommend and hope to come back soon.

I just returned from my very first visit to Alaska and was lucky enough to be able to spend all ten days of my visit at Jarvi Homestay Bed & Breakfast. My experience there couldn't have been more positive. Mary & Dan at Jarvi Homestay went above and beyond to make me feel like more than just a guest, I felt like family. The B&B itself is set up perfect for guests. Rooms are situated downstairs, but they always welcomed me to share meals with them and other guests in their dining room. Mary & Dan also were great about suggesting different day trips and outings I might enjoy.
I couldn't have had a better experience in Alaska. I can't say enough about Jarvi Homestay Bed & Breakfast and have already recommended it to my friends and family.
