Enjoy your stay in Anchorage!
Staff is great, rooms are large and comfy, and the view of the mountains are breath taking. And with local landline phone and free wifi, it makes it the most valuable deal in town. There is also a great European type pub, work out room, & laundry.
No hot water until the second day. No airconditioning as advertised. drawers under tv cabinet kept flying open on their own. Phone did not work and was told it was in the hotel wiring and could not be fixed. TV did not work and maitenance man tried to fix it. mold on ceiling in bathroom, no fan. I had to move a chair to access the refrigerator. All 3 vending machineshad been "shaken" thus unable to get soda out and lost money. The mandated masks law from the mayor of Anchorage was not enforced. Bill was for $210 not the 128 that it was supposed to be and it is In dispute at this time. Staff wore masks. Hand sanitizer dispensers were empty.
I travel to Anchorage often and find Inlet Tower Hotel & Suites to be a sound choice. It's secure, comfortable, clean, and situated within walking distance of downtown restaurants and shops. However, I prefer to dine/drink at their in-house tavern & restaurant, as the quality & offerings are exceptional. Also, with a large lot, parking is never a problem. My years of patronage to Inlet Tower Hotel & Suites will continue!
Spent 5 nights last week of June 2020. Rates ridiculously good but might have something to do with no tourists this year. It is an older hotel but stayed in a clean larger-than-expected double room with a great view of the mountains 11th floor. Request a high floor with a view and you just might get lucky. 10 minute pleasant and very safe walk to 5th avenue which is pretty much downtown. Breakfast was decent but you have to eat in room during this virus fiasco, but again decent choices. I never drink in the "hotel bar" as they are almost always way too expensive for me and typically not much fun. However, the Gastro Pub at the Inlet has great bartenders, great prices, and great locals. Very unusual. I would give the pub 5 stars for those who don't like to go to bed too early. Free parking always a bonus. Wifi was very iffy but not a deal breaker. I think you can pay for faster service. If you are on a medium budget or just trying to use your vacation savings on activities outside your hotel room I highly recommend this hotel.…
So the view from the 11th floor was great. Found out mid stay that one had to request room service, and then then you did the maids had an attitude asking why we wanted her to clean our room. Then complained to coworker about having to switch out our towels. The staff at the front desk was friendly as well as the breakfast server, both made our stay nicer. Toilet in our room kept having trouble and had to have people work on it several times when we were there for 5 days. Girl from Ohio that worked maintenance was friendly and helpful. Our Room was warmer then we like and we used a portable fan as well as a window air conditioner and the temp still was mid 60's. They do lock the doors at night and need a room key to get in which was a nice thing. There is a store right across the street if you need anything.…
