Stayed with 11 other family members across three rooms and we had such a nice time! You have to call to request cleaning but when i did, they came the next morning and took care of everything. No shuttle service at the moment, which is a bummer. Still great overall.
We started our Alaskan vacation on a Friday in July and spent our first night in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite at Embassy Suites. We used points for the suite. It has a nice Alaskan cabin type of feel to it and was very nice. The 2 bedroom units seemed to have 1 King bed in one room and 2 Queens in another. The King bedrrom had the bath outside the bedroom in a little hallway rather than en suite. I don't think there are a lot 2 bedroom units. We booked this almost a year ahead and originally booked 2 nights and later I tried to rebook for only 1 night instead and there were no more 2 BR available. Upon arrival I called to see if the shuttle was running and they said it wasn't but to tell the taxi driver that they would be paying for it. The driver was paid directly by the hotel, which was nice. I don't know if they do that for everyone or if it was just because we are Platinum Hilton Honors members. They offered an evening social hour with drinks and light snacks (basically veggies and dip). We had a drink and snacks while we were discussing our plans. There is a nice restaurant, but it wasn't the type of food we were interested in that evening, plus we felt like getting out after spending hours sitting on a plane so we walked to Matsu Brewing Co. a few blocks away. The pool was closed for repairs, but the hot tub was open - it is basically a small swimming pool - I have never seen such a large hot tub! There were blackout drapes in all rooms so we slept well. Breakfast was very good and included an omelette station. There were several restaurants and Walmart within walking distance. Fred Meyer was also nearby but would require crossing a busy highway. There was an ice machine that we filled up our coolers with for our journey. Oh, and our friends had left some bear spray at the hotel for us and it was there waiting when we arrived. I would highly recommend staying here. Everything was excellend and we had no complaints.…
I only spent one night in Anchorage, Alaska and the Embassy Suite was selected as my hotel of choice due to the amenities that are provided such as spacious rooms and breakfast. The room was quite spacious and comfortable for one night. However, the front desk attendant that checked me in and the nice lobby became the overall winners for this hotel rating. The front desk check-in gentleman was kind, had a really funny personality, and was efficient. His professionalism was truly appreciated. My son and I enjoyed taking a few photos in the lobby prior to our departure. The lobby is nicely decorated. Overall a very positive experience while staying at this hotel.
Comfortable stay at the Embassy Suites in Anchorage. It's a quick trip to the downtown area as well as to/from the airport. Free parking too which is hard to find anymore! There were large groups of children staying there at the same time I was there and tracked a lot of water from the pool into the elevators as well as the lobby area, so there were constantly slip hazards in the common areas. The bartender (Kay, maybe??) at the evening reception was courteous and working really hard each night to keep everyone's drink full. I would stay here again!
I stayed here for 3 nights and as others also mentioned, the hotel shows some wear and tears and soon needs some attention. The rooms were clean and sanitized thoroughly. The breakfast was great with made-to-order omelet and pancake stations but the evening reception was not as great as it used to be before. The staff were friendly and welcoming but were not able to give me any late checkout when requested.
