This bed and breakfast is the best! David and Alison make you feel like old friends the moment you arrive. The grounds, the house and the room were beautiful. The optional meal, prepared by David and served by Alison, was the best we had anywhere in France. The included breakfast was also a highlight. This was the best place we stayed during our two weeks in France and Spain! Can’t wait to go back some day.

I wish we had stayed here longer. It is full of charm and history, clean, and the owners attention to detail cannot be matched. Truly everything was thought of. Very comfortable stay! Great breakfast. The owner even helped me find where my grandfather landed on D-Day as he has an extensive knowledge of the area. Extremely friendly. WE had 3 rooms and each one was wonderful! Great location for the Normandy area and even Mont-Saint-Michel. Do yourself a favor and book here.

My wife and I spent three nights with David and Alison and it was fabulous! The accommodations are great, the breakfast is fantastic, and the location is unbelievable if you are here for WW2 history. When our tour guide (booked independently) picked us up, he asked, do you know where we are? The Farm is less than a mile from a US drop zone on DDay, with history everywhere. Less than 5 minutes from Saint-Mare Eglise, the first town liberated by the US that day. Finally, give David a few days notice and he will cook dinner, as he is a trained chef. And it was fabulous! Book early!!!

Just had a fantastic five day stay with Alison and David; rooms was immaculate, hosts welcoming, farm magical and the food was outstanding - a complete package. Already booked to return next year and 100% recommend the evening menu - local produce and drinks, exceptionally cooked and presented and hosts that make you totally relaxed whilst ensuring your stay is amazing - you definitely will not leave here hungry.

You won't find a better place to stay in Normandy than The Old Farm of Amfreville. David and Alyson are friendly, caring and incredible hosts. Read all the reviews and there is not a one that I would argue with. The Garden Room was well situated and impeccably furnished. The breakfast was terrific and if you start your day hungry it is your own fault. The price is very reasonable. If you are going to spend a whole day sightseeing, I would recommend ordering a "picnic basket"! David prepared a French picnic for us and we got 2 meals each from the basket. All fresh and handmade. Don't miss this wonderful spot.

We have just returned from a 5 day stay at the stunning La Vielle Ferme D'Amfreville. David and Alyson are simply the best hosts....nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel so welcome in their beautifully renovated stone built home. The property is so typically French and the rooms have been sympathetically decorated in a French style. Breakfast consisted of fresh pastries ,artisan breads, meats ,cheeses, homemade conserves and granola pots which were such a treat.(Alyson's homemade granola) The Normandy coast is just so beautiful and with David's extensive historical knowledge we were able to explore so much of which we may have missed of this amazing area. David is a superb chef and his food is exceptional, we enjoyed two Table d'hote meals ,four courses of pure delight which were worthy of a Michelin Star and two Chacuterie Boards which included David's homemade pies ... The property also offers a stunning three bedroom Gite which is completely self contained on the opposite side to the main house. The Gite has recently undergone a complete refurbishment and has been completed to a very high standard and we were very pleased to be offered a guided tour. The whole property is amazing and we had such a fabulous holiday and can't wait to return very soon.

We have recently returned from our 4 day cooking experience and it truly surpassed all expectations. We received a lovely warm welcome from hosts David and Alyson who met us from our train (Paris to Carentan). The farmhouse was stunning and so much thought had been given as to how our stay could be made as comfortable as possible. The cookery course itself was such good fun - we learnt a great deal and David was fun, patient and a really engaging teacher. His knowledge of the surrounding area and all of its history was fascinating too and so it was not just our culinary facts that improved over our stay! We would, without doubt, recommend this B&B and the course to all. The food was exceptional. We wish David and Alyson continued success with their business - they totally deserve it! Thank you for making our short time in France a holiday to remember! Sharon & Suzanne

My son and I stayed about three weeks ago while in the area touring D-Day sites. I can only say David and Allison were the best hosts. We chose to eat at the B&B each night. OMG.David is a world class chef.... They made our stay the best. David is a wealth of knowledge and was very helpful with our excursions. I will hopefully return in the fall of 2023 to do the Medical sites in that region of Normandy. Thank you so much David and Allison. David, tell your brother hello....Hope to see you in 2023...

Where do I start? I’ve just returned from the most wonderful holiday at the Old Farm in Amfreville! We attended a cookery course with our Chef, David, added an extra couple of days stay as well as a tour of important D-day sites: just marvellous! Our Blue Toile room was charming, spacious and comfortable; breakfast was extraordinary- homemade jams, delicious breads, waffles to order, local cheeses and charcuterie too. We had dinner each evening and dined like (French) royalty! The farmhouse has been so sensitively renovated, and everywhere you look the details are so carefully considered. And the cookery course…. Oh my. I learned so many techniques, and after a visit to the market, cooked with new ingredients. David is a natural teacher: patient, encouraging and great fun! The first thing I did as I got on the ferry to travel home was plan our next visit - and encourage all my family to visit too. It really is that good!

This is a lovely family business, the Gite is so much more than you could ask for, cosy yet spacious and fully equipped. It really is a home from home, just in a wonder location. The food was delicious, the continental breakfast was delightful and the evening meal option was exceptional, we definitely recommend.
