Facing la fiere bridge crossing the merderet river, our bed and breakfast is the converted ww2 barn where the battle of Normandy began on 6 June 1944!! Located in the triangle of the three designated 82nd Airborne Division drop zones, 3km due west of Ste. Mère-Eglise, and 15km from Utah Beach in Normandy, France. Originally a grain mill built in 1180. Now, a quality guest home providing five guest bedrooms and American-French breakfast. We are NOT a HOTEL!!!

Viv and Rodolphe are just great hosts. You are welcomed and treated like "old friends" when you stay there. We were with them during the D-Day events and their B&B was a perfect location not only for the parachute exhibition but also the many other events in the area. In

B&B a la Bataille de La Fiere was perfect in every way for this history buff. Seeing all the D-day sites while staying in a wonderful B&B at the battle of La Fiere Bridge was awesome! Rudolph and Vivian are true historians and so passionate about Normandy and their B&B. It's

B&B a la Bataille de La Fiere is like staying in a top notch WWII D-Day museum - but lots more comfortable. Literally across the road from the historic La Fiere Bridge (one of the inspirations for events in SAVING PRIVATE RYAN) and just a few minutes from Ste Mere Eglise, this

My wife and I visited the D-Day sites in September, 2018. I did extensive research as to what we wanted to see and do during our three days in the Normandy area, including where we wanted to stay. I found the B & B a la Bataille de La Fiere to be exactly what we were looking

Stephen is a retired US Marine to whom we wish to sincerely thank for his service to our country. This is one of the most flattering reviews we have ever had! Thanks so very much for sharing your impressions with others on this review site. We were most blessed to have you stay with us. Glad that you had fun together even after you left us. Sounds like a fantastic vacation. It is YOU who make yourselves HAPPY! And with your nice social graces, you shared that aura with us. We wish you well and hope to see you again! Hugs, Viv & Rodolphe

It was a long ride into Normandy. A yearly journey always filled with great expectations. In the historic town square of Sainte-Mere-Eglise I picked up the D-15 and headed west. Sitting majestically beside the Merderet River, and the La Fiere Bridge is the Manoir a la Bataille

We rented a car from the airport which is what I would suggest. While there are places to get the train they are not close to either Ste. Mere Elise or the B&B. As you will be traveling around Normandy a car would be most helpful. I suggest you get Rick Steves tour book on France and or Normandy. You can also download audio tours from Steves and listen to the downloads in your car. Unlike more populated portions of France you will need to use a bit more French to get around. You can go online and find organized tours groups. Our son who is familiar with the area did out tours.

Hi, Bernie. What would you like to know about this accommodation? How do I book this accommodation? Thanks
The 82nd room is large, but depending on the time frame they may have availability for your family to utilize some of the other rooms. I'd just send an email with the same question, see what Vivian says.

You can train all the way to Normandy (CGD into Paris, then St. Lazare to Caen, Bayeux or Carentan), but then there is only car rental in Caen or further passed Carentan in Cherbourg. I recommend the car rental plan from Caen. Super easy.
