The Kimpton Palladian is a quaint boutique hotel. The rooms are inviting and decorated extremely nice! Last time I got upgraded to a one-bedroom suite which had a couch in a separate sitting room separate by a barn-door type slider. The bathroom are beautiful and love the toiletries. Beds are beyond comfortable and need to find out brand of comforter and pillows so I can get them at home! Staff calls me by name every time arrive and Molly, the resident pup, quietly greets you sitting at the front desk. What's not to love about the daily wine happy hour! This is my first choice whenever I am in Belltown.

Mara S - Thank you for taking the time to write such a wonderful review! I think I owe Molly a couple extra treats since she got mentioned by name. I'm sure she won't be disappointed... Very glad to hear we are your first choice in Belltown and hopefully all of downtown Seattle for that matter! See you soon (Molly says hi)! Pete

I stayed at the Kimpton Palladian for four nights while in Seattle for work. The hotel was perfectly comfortable, with lots of fun quirky touches. My room was quiet and I didn’t hear noises from the street. Every staff member I encountered was super friendly and helpful. Also their shampoo and conditioner are genuinely amazing. Obsessed!

My husband and I stayed at the Palladian for one night, and we had a wonderful experience. I sprained my ankle before I arrived to the hotel, and everyone was so kind. Salvador, Shyy, and Kristen - the hotel staff - were great. They upgraded me & my husband to a bigger room; they brought me extra pillows to prop my foot. They called to see how I was doing. THE ROOM: It was clean, spacious, and had an eclectic feel: kind of a rustic modern mix. I really liked it. THE BED: I have a bad back, so a comfortable bed is important when I’m traveling. I’m happy to report it was comfy. I’d guess it has a plush top on it; it was not too hard or soft. THE LOCATION: Being in Belltown, you could walk to just about anywhere. OVERALL: We’ll be back! I’m really picky, and this hotel just won me over.

It's amazing to hear your feedback on how the team took care of you and for the individual calls out too. We appreciate the review more than you know and I look forward to meeting you personally on the next trip. Cheers, Pete

there are at least four Kimptons in Seattle. We previously stayed at the Vintage and loved it and I’ve had good luck with Kimptons in other cities. The Palladian was a huge disappointment. Although the location by Pikes Market was good and the hotel staff were very helpful and accommodating - hence the two stars- the small cramped feeling of the hotel was depressing. The lobby was too small to accommodate the happy hour (and was very cold and uncomfortable) and the decor was so dark and oppressive, it was a welcome relief to spend the next night in a bright airy hotel. also, while I understand people who love their dogs and travel with them, I think the carpet in the room smelled like dog. for those of us who don’t want to stay in a room previously occupied by dogs, it would be nice to have rooms that are certified pet free.

999mtngrl703 - I'm sorry you did not enjoy the design of the hotel. We certainly respect everyone's opinion and although we would much prefer you fall in the love with the design like we have, the other Kimpton's in Seattle have a much different vibe (like Vintage) to make you feel more comfortable. We also have pet-free rooms and can absolutely accommodate in the future. Thanks for the review and I certainly hope you give us another shot or at least stay within the brand! Thanks, Pete

The location, aesthetic, food and drink at the Kimpton Palladian are all incredible, but by far the best attribute of this fun hotel is its wonderful staff.

Thanks to Steve and the employees at the Palladian we left feeling very refreshed after a busy weekend.

Definitely catch a cocktail & order the brussel sprouts!

We will be back

To celebrate our 29th Wedding Anniversary, my husband and I went to Seattle for a few days. We stayed at the Kimpton Palladian and it had the best location in downtown. We didn’t need a car and just walked everywhere ( yep, in the rain!).
The night we got to the hotel, we were surprised with a bottle of champagne, 2 super yummy cupcakes and a chocolate bar. How thoughtful of the Palladian staff!
Our whole stay at the Palladian was a delight, not only because of the hotel itself ( which was so clean and comfortable), but mostly because of the staff who made us feel as if we were staying with friends. Shout out to ADAM at the hotel restaurant Shaker+Spear who was attentive but not intrusive. But the one who really made us want to come back to this hotel is SHYY at the front desk!We love her and her positive aura. She made us feel so welcomed and took care of us. She surely is an asset to the hotel as well as BRYAN.
Thank you Palladian staff for making our trip a memorable one!

I stayed here for the location, it’s in bell town and very close to Nordstrom and the market.

The room was spacious for one person. I loved the flat screen television in the easel. There are many amenities that you can get if you call (or text) to the front desk. I received a text soon after I arrived and was able to communicate that way.

I thought the room would include bathrobes from the description on my 3rd party website but it did not.

Security is strong with the elevator requiring a card swipe to get to your floor.

The whole hotel is dark and moody, your room has mainly white walls but it’s still relatively dark, especially with Seattle winter days.

I chose this hotel because it is directly across from the Moore Theater where I was attending a concert. When I arrived at the hotel to check in I was told that my room was not ready. I was surprised and the clerk responded with "Well check in isn't until 3 pm". I asked what time it was now - clerk " 2:56 pm". Seriously? He stated that they could check my bag and I would be free to roam around until my room was ready. I told him no I had places to be and needed to wait until my room was ready. I then asked if someone could park my car while I waiting since there was no one at the valet when I pulled in. About this time a woman walked up behind him, clicked a few keys on the computer, and said "her room is ready". Wow...how did that happen?? She took the info for my car and gave me a claim check. I got the keys and went up to my room.

The halls are really dark with dark brown wallpaper and carpeting and they smelled. My room wasn't much better - it felt like a little cell. Tiny windows and dim lighting. No way could I have put on makeup in that bathroom with the dim lighting Even the makeup mirror was dim. Many channels on the tv gave the message "weak or no signal".

I had hoped to get something to eat from the bar after I returned from the concert at 10 pm. Even though the website states the bar is open until 11 pm it was completely closed.

When I went to check out the clerk said "I understand we need to check your bags for you" I told him no I was checking out and they didn't need to hold my bags. He said "what about the other person in your room?" I told him there was no other person - just me. He said "but the reservation was for two people". I told him it may have been a AAA error since that is where I made the reservation because I was the only one in the room. He said "this is room 712?" I said yes. I couldn't believe he was still arguing about it.

All in all not a pleasant stay.

We just finished a four night stay at the Kimpton Palladian. It was our first trip to Seattle and we wanted to be close to sightseeing, bars, and restaurants.
Location: This was a perfect location. We took the train from the airport and it was a quick walk to the hotel. We were within blocks of the Pike Place Market, Belltown bars and restaurants, and only about a 15 minute walk from the Chihuly Museum, Olympic Sculpture Park, and other sites.
Cleaning: Some of the reviews mentioned that rooms weren't being cleaned each day, but it has resumed. Our room was cleaned each day.
Silly add-on fees: They do a dumb thing where they tack on a $22 fee each day and you get only $10 of that back as credit for the bodega or bar. I wish they would get rid of it, it made no sense. Sign up for a free IHG hotel account and they will give you the wi-fi password for free.
Service: Everyone was so nice and helpful. We got exceptional service from the front desk, valet, cleaning crew, and the PennyRoyal bar.

Excellent, unique hotel with gracious staff! Especially my new friend, Owen, who warmly greeted us after a grueling day of travel. He upgraded us to the most lovely corner suite (IHG Diamond Elite), and recommended a tasty bubbly we enjoyed during the complimentary happy hour. Our bed was quite comfortable, and the bathroom w large shower and soaking bathtub was very nice.

The hotel is in walking distance to nearly everything you want to see in Seattle, and there is a restaurant onsite.

We would not hesitate to stay here again, and hope to do so soon!
