Honestly is always the best policy not always easy other things on my mind John the manager makes me feel at home takes care of people takes care of his wife and a dog his people . Good people Matts good people to the ownership I think he married up good or bad it's important. No one wants to drive 6 -7 mins stand in line at star bucks only to find a badly aranged hotel with a dirty sink. Dont worry about it funksway is perfect by the time you get here they got you I had nothing to worry about but recover or relax . Sometimes words sound rehursed not hear I sound good because I'm a writer but No bodies fake her but my jokes I enjoy the acomodations clean, respectfull and helpfull John the manager every one likes John. Janae at the front desk is pleasent friendly and again super helpful. This Montana couple traveled to Seattle to visit their son who goes to college there. The people at Grove West treated us so well! We are huge Steeler fans and we arrived on a Saturday, hoping to watch the game in the early afternoon at a bar because we couldn't check into our room until 3. Little did we know that the Seattle Sounders were playing in the championship so when we asked the lady at the front desk if we could park our pickup at the motel until we could check in, she informed us that every TV in the Seattle area was going to be on the Sounders' game. Seeing our disappointment, she requested that our room be ready before 3 so we were able to check in and enjoy the Steelers' game. And we drive a pickup so we didn't have to worry about a parking garage (which our pickup is not going to fit in). They made our trip to Seattle a fun experience.

Thank you for choosing The Grove for your lodging needs while in Seattle to visit your son. I'm glad we were able to accommodate your early request for check in. One of the pluses of our inn is that there is no charge for parking and we can fit larger vehicles in our lot our very close by. With shops and restaurants within walking distance, it makes The Grove a very convenient alternative to staying in downtown Seattle. Thank you for the great review, John

This gem in West Seattle has a great vibe, refreshingly comfortable guestrooms and very friendly staff, that does go out ofits way to provide a truly unique, highly personalized guest experience. The rooms are newly renovated guestrooms and very comfortable. There is parking on site and healthy breakfast available in the morning. We thought it was a hidden gem in West Seattle.

Positives: Clean, desk person was pleasant and responsive. Negatives: There were no dressers, and not nearly enough surfaces to put more than most essential items on. There was a slide-out desk under the TV, but the only chair was too low to use the desk to type on. The internet connection was too weak to download many websites, though a stronger connection was available in the lobby. The room is dreary, with grayish walls and minimal decoration. There is no way this could be called a "hotel", though they say they have a continental breakfast (I didn't see it; other reviews mention it is good) - this is a motel. It's two stories, the ground level rooms are entered directly from the parking lot, and there are no amenities (there is a "terrace", which had some seating on it, but nothing to make it appealing). I don't understand the positive ratings.

My daughter and I stayed here for our first trip to Seattle we have had in about 6 or 7 years.
I will start by saying that, on a map, this looks pretty close to downtown but it is not. There is a free shuttle that takes you down to a water taxi, which we figured out on our second day(hotel never let us know) but if you want to drive, it's a good 15-20 min depending on traffic.
The front desk at check in was a terse younger lady who made it clear that it didn't matter that we just got done driving 11 hours, we could not check in one minute earlier than 3pm. We chose to drive around the city for 90 min until our room was ready and came back.
As I was checking under my hood to make sure everything was sound, I noticed a short haired gentleman staring at me and my daughter for several minutes until I closed the hood. I found out later that this busybody was the manager of the hotel. I never talked to this guy during our visit but found him to do this stupid obvious standing and staring a couple times. It set off a red flag with me as there was nothing we were doing that warranted this attention, so either this guy is creeping on my daughter or there is so many issues at this hotel, that management feels the need to be extra observant. I eventually complained to the front desk about it, after which it stopped. But after that, we made sure to lock up our valuables and declined housekeeping after our first night.
Complimentary breakfast was definitely the highlight and the ladies who are responsible for stocking and cleaning the breakfast room were outstanding. It was nice to be able to enjoy something different every day we were there.
Amenities there are basic: Mini fridge, iron, uhhhh towels? There is a fire pit upstairs but we never used it because of the weirdo manager.
I will say that the West Seattle downtown is a short walk from the property, which we found out on our last day and is a pretty great place to spend an evening. Not because anyone at the hotel told us, we accidently figured it out for ourselves.

When staying in west Seattle there are basically no other hotels and the Airbnb route is super expensive.
This place delivers- very clean, modern, safe, courteous help, good location, ez parking and plenty of stuff ( food, bars, parks, etc) within walking distance.
Lotsa CV protocals being adhered too.
Price was reasonable , for Seattle, but not a bargain as everything in SEA is quite expensive anyways. When I visit this area next time I’ll stay here again!

It is cleaner than it was in the past but still has that shabby Motel feel. Small rooms with giant picture windows where everybody can look in as they walk by.
All rooms had been renovated in the last few years and still
The bathrooms were a little dirty in the corners.
The real drawback is this place uses very heavy carpet cleaner and carpet fresheners. The smell was so overwhelming I couldn't stay more than 20 minutes and had to find lodging elsewhere. For the same price you can get a whole lot better by the airport or any number of places in town .
I gave it to Stars just because it's better than it used to be but I won't be going back.

We stayed 4 nights to be near my son's apartment in West Seattle. It proved to be an ideal location in quick driving distance to restaurants. Although, the breakfast was not huge, it was perfect for us.. It had oatmeal, cold cereals, yogurt, fruit, hard-cooked eggs, breads, etc. Plenty of choice for a light healthy breakfast.

I sometimes work up in West Seattle. When I do I stay at The Grove because it is an easy walk to Trader Joe’s, Safeway and California Street which is loaded with bars and restaurants of every kind. Plus, the Grove is quiet and clean and the staff treats you like family. Everything in the room is clean and works well. Lots of TV channels. The internet is not the fastest and sometimes comes and goes but doable.
Now, I flew here right in the middle of the Coronavirus deaths and lots of stuff shutting down in Seattle. Around here in WS people are out and about and restaurants are full. Trader Joe’s was packed and people were polite. You do see people elbow bumping each other. I just carry hand sanitizer and use it often. Our office is still going full force. We will see.

The only hotel in West Seattle, but the locally owned and operated makes it a nice touch. More affordable than airbnb’s in the area too. Walkable to Trader Joe’s/Whole Foods and the WS junction for plenty of shops and restaurants!
Rooms can be a bit small, but they are newer and accommodating. Breakfast options were MUCH better than other hotels during Covid. I also liked the option of the 2nd floor outdoor common area / seating area
One downside for me was the slower internet speed during my stay

I don't know the answer to this question. I suggest giving the front desk a call!
The airport yes, across the street. The others are within driving distance but the traffic is horrendous at all hours.
They are very helpful and friendly; I bet they would if you give them advance notice
