Strange hotel. No free coffee in the morning or continental breakfast. After buying coffee, asked the dismissive counter person for non-dairy milk (e.g., almond milk) and she said that was an additional charge. With people lining up to buy coffee one by one and having to come back for things like almond milk, the delay was long and awkward. Room rates wildly fluctuated night to night. Paid $295 one night; would have hoped for at least minimal breakfast or coffee for that. Good view of seaplane base out of windows on high floors. Would definitely shop their competitors before staying there again.

Dear MarkStocket, Thank you for taking the time to share your valuable feedback. My name is Emily Perry and I am the Food and Beverage Manager at the Courtyard Seattle Downtown/Lake Union. It has come to my attention that the service you received during your recent stay did not meet your expectations. I sincerely apologize for the issue you faced while trying to get almond milk for your coffee, I will personally talk to the Bistro attendant who served you that morning and make sure that we are giving out complimentary non-dairy milk just like we are dairy milk. In addition, I apologize for the rate fluctuation you experienced during your stay, the rate depends on the occupancy of the hotel that night so could change around a bit over several nights. I am happy to hear you enjoyed the view of the seaplanes! The experience you described is not characteristic of the level of service our associates strive to provide. I would love the opportunity to hear more about your recent stay in an effort to prevent this issue from occurring in the future. Please let me know the best contact number and time to reach you, or feel free to contact me via phone anytime at 206-403-4340. I look forward to speaking with you in order to restore your confidence in the Courtyard Seattle Downtown/Lake Union. Sincerely, Emily Perry Food and Beverage Manager Courtyard Seattle Downtown/South Lake Union emily.perry@marriott.com 206-403-4340

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for just a day after returning from Alaska Cruise. It is not close to Pier 66 or to Pike Place Market but it faces Lake Union, which is a lovely area of Seattle. The check in was a breeze. I must thank the reception staff for giving us a room immediately although we reached the hotel early, at 10am. The bed and the bath rooms were quite spacious and clean and the free wifi was quite good. The service was very good, indeed. There is a bar/ cafeteria downstairs. A walk along the shores of the Lake Union was very refreshing. There are numerous restaurants, including a great pizza place within walking distance but we could not find a grocery in the neighborhood. Downtown and shopping areas are farther away; one needs to take an uber. In summary, it is a decent hotel where you can spend couple of days relaxing, if that is your objective of coming to Seattle.

This is my second visit and first since they remodeled the exterior and common areas. Nice job modernizing the property. However the rooms are old and stale. I understand management is scheduled to update the rooms next. As will most Marriott properties the beds are wonderfully comfortable and promote a good night sleep. The cafe is spacious and offers a number of local craft beers and ciders in the evening. A nice tough and well received in the land of top shelf craft brewing. Although the location is a bit far from downtown, its a cheap Uber ride away. Situated right on the lake you can't help but take a stroll or run along the water. Try and get a room on the 6th or 7th floor facing the lake. Some good bars and restaurants just a block away, try the Cask and Trotter. OK BBQ and a super selection of whiskey/scotch .

Everything we needed including location. Reception check in was initially chaotic but the room was good with all the facilities you would expect. Tip - utilise the parking facilities as they are secure & cheaper than surrounding car parks

The water view we paid for meh, my husband had to take an Uber to get to a convenience store. It was a disappointment at over $3000US a night. The only redeeming quality was the staff as they are very friendly and helpful, one morning the power went out in our room, yes they have renovated the lobby no they have not renovated the rooms, and they sent someone up to quickly restore it. Also the cafe was not quite open yet but Claudia was nice enough to make a latte and a coffee which we greatly appreciated. Again the staff were the best part of the hotel.
