Mehh. Zero communication prior to your visit. Just show up, trust your navigation & hope that the four FOR SALE signs don’t confuse ya. If that doesn’t, know that there are two addresses for this place ughhh. Once you do park, good luck finding the entrance. No signage other than a 2inx10in sign hidden saying “Bacon Mansion”. Most of the 100+ B&B’s that we’ve stayed at email or text 12-24hrs before with instructions etc…. Not here. Guess wrong when you arrive & the owner scolds you. Major attitude (no surprise it’s being sold). We walked into the ONLY open door (front door) and assumed an employee would be waiting inside to greet us (that’s usually how B&B’s work). Instead we found what turned out to be another guest who recommended that we text the owner for further instructions as they had the same problem. When we did, he had a short fuse so be aware. We noticed it again at the fruit & coffee time breakfast. Hot mess. Breakfast was good but small in relation to most B&B’s. More of a Continental breakfast that consisted of just fruit & a muffin. That’s it. (Stayed at 4 other B&B’s on this trip & received hot, cooked breakfasts like French toast, omelettes, pancakes, bacon etc…). Ok place to lay your head down but not the B&B experience that you’d expect. After staying at 100+ B&B’s in North America I’d rate it at #90.

A wonderful place to stay on a quiet street in bustling Capitol Hill. I stayed in the Venetian room, which had a great bed, room to lounge and excellent water pressure. Full covid precautions in place. Breakfast was great—fruit, yogurt and homemade, delicious muffins. Everything is clean and comfortable, and the mansion is full of beautiful antiques, including a collection of pigs from all over the world. Daryl the owner is welcoming and clearly loves this place he has furnished over the course of years. You’ll love it too.

My husband and I stayed here for a night while in Seattle for a medical study. The mansion was easy to find in a nice section of Seattle. There is plenty to do in the area that is just a few blocks from the mansion. There are some small locally owned shops and pubs. Each of the rooms have their own unique designs. Check their website to decide which is best for you. We were in the Capitol Suite. I liked that it had such an open floor plan with an abundance of windows. We had a bathtub and a shower with our room which was perfect for a hot bubble bath on a cold night before bed. Our host was very pleasant and had coffee and breakfast for us early as we needed to leave early. They also have a balcony on which smoking is allowed. That is such a nice treat in the modern age!

We had the cabin room. It was fun and cozy. Reminded us of our younger years..the house was beautiful and fun to explore. Amazing piano, it calls to you. Relaxing atmosphere. Kind hospitality. Hot water for tea and coffee and goodies available in the evening. Lots of restaurants near by..Hot coffee and tea ready when you wake. An awesome breakfast. Perfect start to the day. We have nothing negative to say.

This place is unbelievable, a wonderful surprise to arrive somewhere so unique, glamorous, immaculate. Blown away by our suite, we actually cancelled our evening plans to spend more time in the mansion. We had a marvellous host, Darryl, who made us feel welcome and makes the best muffins in the world. If you go to Seattle, STAY HERE.
