It's the best place to stay downtown. Every room is a museum gallery but with cosy beds and an view on the space needle. There is also a breakfast included, which adds even more comfort. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The hostel is situated near downtown on second avenue and very close to bars and main activities

I was female solo backpacking in Seattle, the San Juan Islands and Canada July/August 2016 and stayed two nights at City Hostel. I am older than the typical hostel crowd, so I got a private queen room with shared bath, which worked very well for me. Of course, it is more expensive than dorm-style accommodations, if you are on a... More

This was my first time staying in a hostel so I was hesitant, but it was better than I thought. 4 of us stayed in a 4 bed room. The room mural gave me nightmares but after the first night, didn't notice it as much. The rooms were so god-d*** HOT!!!!! We were all sweating throughout the night. We figured... More

The best thing about this hostel is it's location. It's within walking distance of Pike Place Market in one direction and The Space Needle in the other. My main two criteria for any accommodation that I stay in is that it's clean and that's it's secure, The City Hostel is both. We stayed in a private room with shower. The... More

My teenaged son and I spent one night at this hostel recently, sharing a private room. The room was tidy; the bathroom was clean and the staff extremely helpful. I appreciated the modest morning breakfast and the fact we could leave our luggage in a locked room while we explored Seattle for the day before catching our flight. The security... More

We would have given a 5-star rating if it were not for the noise due to our particular room. Our son and daughter-in-law stayed in a different room and did not have noise problems. Our room was directly across from the 24-hour kitchen and guests were using blenders at 1 AM - very noisey! Ask for a room away from... More

The hostel was cool with wall paintings by separate artists for each room. The hostel is located on 2nd avenue which means moist of downtown is within walking distance. All facilities were OK and the staff helpful. Quite noisy hotel, so if you're a light sleeper, keep this in mind.

I've stayed in a fair amount of traveler inns and hostels and City Hostel in Seattle is at the top of the list. This hostel tends to be extremely busy with much happening at any given time of the day, especially during the summer season. Regardless of how busy or hectic things can get at City Hostel in Seattle, the... More

City Hostel was a great choice! Not needing luxury and not wanting to overspend, I often stay in hostels in Asia where I live. This was my first hostel experience in the US. Location of City Hostel in Belltown neighborhood is perfect for my personal taste - older Seattle neighborhood in transition; one block from Elliott Bay and a myriad... More

I stayed here in a private room with shared bathroom for 3 nights while visiting Seattle. I liked the location as it easy to walk to the sites including Pike Place Market and the Space Needle, Dale Chihuly museum, etc. The artwork varies from room to room and there are informational plaques on each door to tell you about the...
