The Gaslight Inn is conveniently located on Capitol Hill, Seattle's most exciting neighborhood that also happens to be closest to the center of the city and only about 20 minutes North from the airport. All of Seattle's main attractions including Pike Place Market, are either in walking distance, a short taxi ride or a metro bus ride away. The Gaslight Inn's interior is appointed in exacting detail, with strikingly rich, dark colors, oak paneling, and an enormous entryway and staircase. The comfortable and unique guestrooms are furnished with quality double or queen-sized beds, refrigerator and television. Many rooms in our bed and breakfast feature private baths and some also have decks with fabulous views or fireplaces. The living room, with its large oak fireplace, is always an inviting room, as is the library.Through the late spring and summer, we encourage you to relax and unwind at poolside with a glass of wine after a long, busy day. This private, in-ground, heated pool with several decks and interesting plant arrangements is found at the back of the inn. The Gaslight has high speed Wi-Fi for all it's guests at no extra cost. Our aim at the Gaslight Inn is to provide quality bed & breakfast accommodations in a relaxed atmosphere at a sensible rate, and to offer guests, whether they are visiting for pleasure or on business, useful information and assistance when needed. Our continental breakfast features coffee, juice, fruit, scones, and croissants. It will get your day in Seattle off to a great start! *In October 2015, the city awarded The Gaslight Inn with landmark status, the only Seattle B&B to granted with such.

Stayed here with my boyfriend for 2 nights at the end of a 2 week visit to the USA. This was my first visit to the gaslight and my boyfriend had visited before so we were excited to stay together.
Firstly, this is a absolutely stunning home. The building is beautiful and the area it is in is great. Plenty of bars and restaurants close by as well as a large supermarket.
Location wise you’re about a 10 min walk to the nearest subway station but you can also walk downtown in no time at all (and I would recommend you do as you’ll see some amazing local businesses on the way)
The gaslight is very well known in the local community and I can see why, it really is a beautiful place to stay and is a very accommodating safe space for everyone.
The owners were very friendly and polite and helpful when we needed them, and the housekeeping staff member I met on my final morning also got chatting to me and was very friendly. They obviously love what they do and it shows.
We had a room with a private shower room and semi private balcony. I really liked the room, it was large and had everything you could want (including a mini fridge to chill the all important wine for evenings on the balcony). The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. The air con also worked great and was controlled in the room. The air con was also silent so won’t disturb you if needed on over night like we did.
Really nice feature the tv in the room is a Amazon fire tv and there were plenty of channels/apps available for use if you want that.
Breakfast was served around a large dining table and everyone sat together. I only had breakfast at the table for one of my two mornings at the gaslight as had to pack the final morning but I really enjoyed chatting to the other guests and the owner while enjoying some gorgeous fresh fruit, muffins, croissants, juice and coffee.
I would love to return again and will soon! They also have a large pool for the summer which looked lovely.

This is the most beautiful inn I have every stayed in and I've traveled extensively in Europe as well the the USA. Architecture or history buffs will enjoy it even more. My room was very comfortable and contained everything I needed. Even as I was deciding between total darkness for sleep or a light in the unfamiliar bath to avoid stumbles, I noticed a dimmer switch that allowed me to select the ideal amount of light. The breakfast they laid out was a work of art and tasted as good as it looked. I was there under difficult circumstances due to a death in the family, and the innkeeper went out of his way to make sure that all of extra care/attention I needed was fully and graciously offered. At a difficult time, I felt as comfortable as if I was with family (only with a MUCH nicer house).

The B&B Gaslight Inn is a beautiful Victorian home offering clean quiet cozy rooms—-a full breakfast in the ornate dining room—-located in the Capital Hill area.
Volunteer Park & fine restaurants are nearby.
The owners are friendly gracious and offer up good suggestions; won’t be hesitant to recommend and will be back.
Thank you Ryan & Joelle,
Jeannie

One of the best parts of my trip was staying at this place . The owner goes above and beyond in everything he does to make your stay a real pleasure. His knowledge of the area is superb. The one thing that stands out the most and its hard to name just one since the house is beautiful, is the cleanliness of every aspect of the property even the outside by the pool. The garden contains decorative glass spheres and even those are spotless. Amazing amount of love and effort is spent on keeping this property maintained !

This B&B is in a fantastic location in Seattle. The historic home is beautifully decorated and the owner, Bennett, is super friendly and accommodating. Our room (we stayed in 102) was large and comfortable, with charming details. No A/C wasn't a problem, as there were fans available to borrow. The breakfast each morning was delicious and plentiful — eggs, yogurt, fruit, cheese, pastries, coffee, etc. And although there wasn't a daily room service due to COVID restrictions, we knew we could count on the staff to get us anything we needed. I'd highly recommend for anyone wanting a unique B&B experience.

We stayed five nights at the Gaslight Inn and it was a real joy. Ryan and Joelle go out of their way to make their home your home too, Our room (101) was comfortable, exceptionally clean and having our own fridge was a nice touch as we enjoyed the odd beer on the communal balcony and by the pool after a day walking the city. Breakfast was really lovely and nice to be able to chat to the other guests around one big table.
The Gaslight Inn has a great location, we walked down to the city and caught a bus or light train back at the end of a day sightseeing. Our hosts were happy to recommend places to go and as well as the main sights we enjoyed a pleasant visit to the Japanese garden and arboretum.

If you want to stay at an utterly unique bed and breakfast in Seattle, “The Gaslight Inn” is the “ jewel in the crown”! A city awarded landmark status property, this gorgeous craftsman home oozes old world charm and elegance. A lovely outdoor heated swimming pool adds to all it has to offer. Situated in Capitol Hill, it has easy access to a variety of public transport options. Volunteer Park with the Conservatory and Asian Art Museum plus downtown city views is a short walk away. This vast home was so well built that it cushions any noise. We were totally unaware that other guests were staying there until we encountered them in the dining room! The morning starts with a wide selection of delicious breakfast offerings. Meeting other guests from all over the world, or elsewhere in the USA adds to the fun of breakfast encounters and conversations. Our room was fabulous, with a small attached bathroom and a private balcony overlooking the pool. Very comfortable. As for the hosts, Ryan and Joelle, I can only say that they are truly the best and most welcoming couple. Helpful in every way and embracing the true meaning of hospitality. We loved it there and swam daily after lengthy explorations of Seattle. We highly recommend staying at this historic home.

We stayed at the Gaslight Inn in 1990 and returned in September 2023; we were not disappointed, as it was still maintained and furnished beautifully. The mattress was comfortable, the towels were fluffy, our room was comfortable and very quiet. Ryan is the perfect host as he was warm and welcoming. We are from the US and we loved that there were so many European guests staying there, and enjoyed chatting with them at breakfast. We enjoyed walking to the Japanese Gardens/Arboretum as well as the Chihuly glass museum. There are wonderful restaurants just a five minute walk away on 15th and took the hosts suggestions and enjoyed Rionne XIII (Italian) and Shop Agora (Greek). Lovely stay.

The Gaslight Inn was my home for two nights. It was like visiting family, easygoing, friendly hosts. In the evening the warm fireplace added a really cozy feel.

My room on the main floor was quiet with a very comfortable bed giving me the gift of deep sleep.
Street parking was easy and the Inn is close to down town and many restaurants on the way, so I walked most of the time.

This was perfect for my stay in Seattle. I hope to visit again when Seattle isn’t covered in snow!

This is such a beautiful and comfortable inn. The location is fabulous and great for walking around Capitol Hill, downtown, over to the arboretum, and many other Seattle gems.
The beds and rooms are really soft. I only met one of the owners (Ryan), but he was so caring.

The shared area is fantastic for a book or a chat or doing work, although there is plenty of space in the actual bedrooms.

Everything is really clean.

I didn’t get to have breakfast because of an appointment and then the next day just sleeping too long, but it looked great.

The toiletries they use are fantastic.

I’m kind of weird about my water, and I am not crazy about the taste of Seattle water. So I typically bring a water purifier/filter to hotels. I didn’t need to use it because there are hot and cold water stations in the hallway. I cannot fully explain how delighted this made me.

Anyway, warm, inviting, superb location, excellent tasting water, comfortable bed… I will definitely be back.

Sorry it’s taken ages to respond. There are no tea & coffee making facilities in the room but the owners are really lovely and I am sure they would make a cup for you. There are coffee shops within walking distance though. Hope this helps. It is a lovely place.

Hi folks, Yes our new lightrail leaves the airport often and will bring you to the capitol hill station, 6 blocks from the Inn. We are walking distance to downtown and a major amount of the tourist attractions. We are located on Capital hill, like most of our citie's B&B's because we are the 1st residential neighborhood closest to the downtown core. If you need further information just ask please. Wherever you end up staying please enjoy our beautiful and friendly city! Bennett
