First of all, the hotel is currently not full service: their restaurant is not open because they lost their chef to COVID and there is no doorman or bell boy so you are on your own to get your luggage to your room. Maid service has to be specifically requested which is understandable. The staff informs us that they are short staffed which might explain the fact that even though masks are required, on two separate occasions, guests were seen in public areas, unmasked. One is so brazen as to sit in the lounge area, right around from reception, unmasked and reading on his phone. Also, perhaps because of the staff shortage, it took a couple of tries and several hours before we were able to arrange for a limo to drive us to the airport. Pros: location. The hotel is close to the waterfront, restaurants and the Pike market place. The hotel room is spacious and clean. Cons: the room is very dark even with the curtains drawn with dim lighting and dark furnishings. We were on the third floor and the traffic noise kept us up at night. There is no tea or coffee making equipment in the room and as we are tea drinkers we cannot partake in the coffee offered in the lounge. Lastly the bathroom seems somewhat dated- they still have rather musty smelling shower curtains. Also there are no rail guards so it is easy to slip and hurt yourself.

Hotel's Favorite
My family and I traveled to Seattle for the first time and fell in love. The Alexis Royal Sonesta was a huge part of that. Everyone at the front desk were so kind and accommodating specifically Christine, Evan and Juan. The hotel is a wonderful location within walking distance to so much of what Seattle has to offer. We had adjoining rooms that were nicely appointed and wanted for nothing. We will definitely return!

Hello Sanger - So appreciate the note. Evan and Co. are all rock stars and have had their share of challenges keeping up with the rules and regulations of the Covid crisis. Great to read of their help. The location of the Alexis has always been a positive. We are within walking distance of pretty much everything you would want and if not - we will get you there. Come back soon and see what we have in store once the city is rocking again!

This hotel is centrally located. You can walk to Pike Place in under 10 minutes and the space needle is a little over a mile away. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The room is very large and the bed was comfy. The hotel itself was very quiet and the staff was very friendly. BUT, every morning I was woken up by noise outside of our window. It sounded like dumpsters being emptied. This happened every morning around4. I quickly fell back asleep, my husband slept through it. My main complaint about the room is the bathroom. I have no doubt that a man designed it. The shower, while ample in size has no room for products. There is a tiny shelf and that's all. There is no ledge for a woman to prop her leg up for shaving. The water pressure was just ok. Lastly, there is no separate water closet. I wish I would have known that prior to booking.

Thanks so much 422A - yep the location is always been one of the great assets of the hotel and our new renovation makes the rooms a fantastic find. Yep, that was the garbage truck and you can thank the City of Seattle for their contribution to your restful sleep, our pleas and requests have been moved to number 893 millionth on their list of things to do. Surprise! the designers of the bathrooms were 2 women and I definitely will share your thoughts. We do have 17 different room styles and some showers are huge with small stools in them and - great point we can start adding them to the other ones. See you made a difference!. Come back and check us out soon! Tom W.

I chose this hotel based off of the number of excellent reviews, but I'm disappointed to say that my experience didn't match those reviews. I would rate it a good hotel, but not great, particularly if you are a traveller who is sensitive to noise.

In a city of Stars I will take your 3 but hope that you would reconsider! as the hotel with the great staff and gorgeous rooms deserve your attention! We are a lower level hotel and some of the rooms face the front, some the back and an alley, some nights can be busy, but as a frequent guest here, I assure you, its a pretty quiet place most nights. Hope you come back and let me find you a room that will be that quiet place for you to cocoon in. Tom W.

My husband and I were very impressed with the friendly and professional employees. The hotel was well maintained, and our room was lovely. We knew in advance that the restaurant and bar were closed due to COVID, so we look forward to returning when they are open!
