We ended up driving to Seattle to pick up our son from his international flight and make it a quick getaway. After a super long drive involving a snowstorm and sketchy roads, we were happy for the Hotel Theodore’s 24-hour check-in on our two day stay. The $50 parking was steep but it was great knowing the car was well looked after. You have the option of parking next door for about $33 ish, but we were tired and just wanted to be done.
The location of the hotel actually can’t be beat. Pike Place Market is just a few blocks / 5 mins walk away and even in snowy and icy conditions, it was a quick walk down a well trafficked road. The monorail, which is basically right next door, takes you directly to the Space Needle and back for $6 round trip a person.
The Hotel Theodore exudes a high class, very safe feel. It is also well maintained and it kept the turn of the last century vibe. The king room was the perfect size for the two of us and it was a bonus to have a fridge and a Nespresso machine in the room. The beds were very comfortable and warm. Everything felt clean and well cared for. If I was going to suggest how it could be even better, I would suggest adding a mirror by an outlet outside the bathroom to do hair while your partner is in the shower, but seriously it’s not a deal breaker by any means.
The hotel is set up with a text thread and anything you need you just text them and they respond and bring it right away. So convenient! No calling or waiting. So genius.
We only intended to stay 2 nights and drive home when our son landed, but since another snowstorm was heading our way we extended our stay. It was very easy to do and we were thankful. But that meant we needed an extra bed. The hotel offered a self regulating air mattress with USB, perfect for a teen. He thought it was very comfortable and enjoyed his night. I would not recommend sleeping 3 adult sized people in a king room long term as the rooms are quite small for that, but it was perfect for one night.
I don’t have a bad thing to say about this hotel, and if we ever visit Seattle again, we will be staying here again.

This hotel is beautiful with spacious rooms(bathroom is a little small but the shower is good size, just the sink and room itself). Great place to grab coffee and work during the day or hangout with friends. Complimentary drinks ever night and awesome service. They helped with anything we needed. Valet was worth it for a multiple night stay, they bring your car to you whenever you need it and easy to pull in and handover the keys. Comfortable bed, great gym. Hope to come back! Ashely and Endale were THE BEST!!

When I arrived at this hotel I was actually quite disappointed. I was on a business trip and my room was very small and had no desk. It would’ve been fine for someone on a tourist trip, spending little time in the room but not for anyone needing to do any kind of work.
However I talked to the reception staff and within a few hours they have found me a new room complete with all I needed.
The hotel is quite traditional but very tastefully decorated and just restaurants have a relatively small selection of dishes but generally pretty good.
There is also a good gym, Quite small but with everything you might need for a short stay and equipped with a peloton bike which was great to try out.
Overall, a characterful and high-quality place to stay and very close to the Seattle convention centre and the main shopping area.

Dear Jonathan, We appreciate you giving the Hotel Theodore experience a try, and we couldn’t be happier to know that we won you over with everything you needed for a comfortable stay in the heart of Seattle. As you’ve discovered, our downtown location is perfect for exploring the countless shops and restaurants just outside our doors. Thanks for taking the Peloton bike for a spin and for sharing your positive feedback about our well-equipped gym. We can’t wait to welcome you back on your next trip to town! Warmest regards, Peter Lenton General Manager

It’s hard to review a hotel in COVID, but the Hotel Theodore made sure we were comfortable and well looked after. We loved the room and it had one of the best robes! I know that sounds crazy but the robe was warm and super comfy, I’m going to find something similar when I get home!!! I also did not mind no housekeeping daily service, especially since anything we needed was available. We slept like logs, I’d forgotten how comfortable hotel beds can be. The hotel is also in an excellent location so it was easy to wonder around downtown Seattle without a car.

For the first time in a long while, my Wife and I got away for a long weekend without the kids. When booking this weekend we wanted a centrally located, higher end, no hassle hotel. We did not know if we would spend much time venturing out into the city or just a long weekend enjoying the quiet and peace of a weekend away from the house/kids. This hotel did not disappoint, the room (although a little smaller than other hotels I have stayed at in the area) was very well appointed; beds are comfortable, pillows are supple and other design elements from wall art to lighting, historical installations in the hallway to dramatically light lobby are all extremely well thought out.
We did venture out and enjoyed a brief walk to Pike's Place (about 10 min easy walk), we made it a point to stop by the coffee shop in the lobby each morning before we headed out. This is truly a Seattle experience and the coffee shop at the Theodor is world class. The Happy hour each night in the lobby is also a nice touch. The only reason this was not a 5 star review was a small issue at check in where they charged my card a second time even though I had already paid in full on Hotels.com. When i talked to the front desk again the next morning they quickly reversed these double charges and even removed the small food purchase we made the night before. Service was good overall and this is now our favorite boutique hotel in the middle of all we love to do in Seattle.

My wife and I recently visited Seattle to attend a friend's wedding, and we took some extra days to tour around Seattle. We like small boutique hotels and the Theodore was a great choice. The lobby was warm and inviting, with a small espresso bar serving drinks and pastries in the morning. The rooms were small but served their purpose - for sleep and showering. They had the subway tile in the bathroom and walk in shower. And when we needed a car the Hertz rental place is across the street which was super convenient. The walk to Pike Place is about 10-15 minutes depending upon your pace, Din Tai Fung is across the street, and the monorail is two blocks away. Very convenient all around location. The hotel gave us a $24 credit to use each day on coffee or pastries at the bar which was great, and they have some bike rentals which we didn't take advantage of but looked fun. Definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again if we come back to the city.

If I were travelling solo for a short trip I would consider staying again, but would not return for more than two nights or with a second person.
Let’s get the bad stuff out the way first because if you’re reading this you’re probably looking for “deal breaker” advice.
The rooms here are small. We booked a “deluxe queen” and I would struggle to tell you what is deluxe about it. There’s no chair, no table, and the floor space is so restricted that we could not open both of our cases at the same time. The space between the bed and the walls on two sides was less than 2 feet.
House keeping only attend if they are requested, it is not a standard service. While making my own bed and using the same towel for three days is no hardship, it is disappointing that this service that one would expect at even a lower price point is being slowly withdrawn. The irony of a cleaning service being restricted due to a pandemic is apparently lost on the management here.
At check-in a $75 PER DAY holding charge is taken from the card for “incidentals”. This seemed high but considering the in-room bottles of water are $6 each, perhaps not…
The mattress on the bed was very soft. For me this was uncomfortable, but for my partner it was an exceptionally good night’s sleep. You know your preferences so keep in mind!
HOWEVER, the staff are friendly and cheerful. The room and common areas are clean and in an excellent state of repair. The hotel is centrally located and just a few minutes’ walk from The Westlake Center.

Romeo, Thank you very much for the review and feedback! Being a historic building, some of our rooms were indeed built smaller then newer build hotels. We have a large variety of room accommodations with the square footage of each listed on our website, with some being much larger then others. We are glad to see that overall you enjoyed your time with us in Seattle and do hope to welcome you back another time in the future.

I had such a good stay at Hotel Theodore! My room was so clean and nice. My room had a huge claw foot tub to relax in and was so stylish. I had nothing but friendly interactions with the staff (I brought a bottle of wine to the front desk to see if they had an opener and we laughed as it took 5 mins and 3 people to open this bottle of wine). The virtual concierge was easy to use and responded immediately. I didn’t have time to use the gym because I was busy exploring the city but I peeked and it looked so nice. The location is amazing and I was able to get everywhere by foot in 10-20 minutes. Oh and the robes were SO comfy. All around a great stay :-)

Artistic quaint, cozy, quiet, personal accommodations. Beautiful decor, very comfortable sleeping, close to so many attractions, felt very safe. Lobby was wonderful to wait in, desk staff very accommodating. Coffee shop inside but several very nice coffee shops and restaurants within close walking distance. Pikes Market about 6 blocks, Target/Walgreens close by if you forgot essentials or need a snack.

Overall a great stay. Perfect location, felt safe and was a short way to Pike Market as well as Capitol Hill. Unfortunately the restaurant was still closed and masks are still enforced in the lobby. Concierge was nothing but pleasant and helpful when we needed assistance. Was able to extend checkout and hold our bags before our flight, whew! Really nice room even on the cheapest side. Modern and updated room was nice (plenty of outlets and USB ports for charging next to the bed) only wish we had a better closet we could hang all our clothes (the one in the room had a safe and very little space for anything). got a really great deal via Hotwire’s mystery hotel (though I knew right away it was Theodore!). I would definitely stay here again and likely upgrade. A rooftop jacuzzi or hot tub would have been nice though,

We didn’t use that service. We just grabbed a cab from the airport and called for an Uber the day we left. That ran about 40 - 50!each way. Roughly.
My room had a standard size claw foot tub. Not large.
It was an accident.I have sent him a message - but I do think it should be known publicly his mistake, because of the egregiousness of his accusations of racism and white supremacy.
