Hotel Max sits at the heart of the city, earning praise from numerous guests for its convenient location and safety. While the unique rock music theme and memorabilia provide a distinctive atmosphere, some travelers find the rooms to need a refresh and more space. The friendly and attentive service, including personalized recommendations and complimentary beer, is frequently commended, although a few guests have encountered service hiccups. Despite the hotel's cleanliness and pet-friendliness, criticisms often revolve around the additional fees, small bathrooms, and the perceived mismatch between cost and value.

I like Hotel Max for their added on value such as complementary coffee/ tea in the morning and beer from 5-6pm every day. I can tell that the Hotel Management is trying very hard to deliver extra values for their guest. I also like the hotel lobby design and decoration, they are very bold and creative. The only thing I don’t really like about this place is their lift, very small and slow

My girlfriend and I went to Seattle for the first time on a road trip this past week after stopping for a few days in Portland. We booked our room for Hotel Max in advanced and showed up to find a very nicely decorated lobby that felt like the inside of a museum with musical instruments and a nod to Sub Pol records (which collaborated with them to create the decor of the rooms on one of their floors. Wish we knew that sooner!)

We checked in and were immediately offered some welcome beers which I thought was amazing. The rooms while a little smaller were well supplied and organized and the walk down the hallway had much to see and enjoy if you are into art and photography.

If you are looking for a hotel that's near most of the main attractions in Seattle and at an affordable rate, this is it.
They even provide you gum to stick on the infamous gum wall!

We plan to stay here again to really give Seattle some justice (this pandemic made it so much was closed early around town but still worth the trip in my opinion since it was close to a Pizza shop that was open late and I can buy little bottles of booze at the front counter).

The icing on the cake was the staff was quick to resolve our silly mistake of leaving some of our clothes in the closet. They were quick to address the issue and for now we just wait for the package with our jackets and some other articles we left behind.

Thanks to the staff at Hotel Max for making our first trip to Seattle amazing.

Great stay. Second time staying there using a last minute deal.

The staff is always really great and helpful. Even the late at night staff were very cheerful both times when I bought snacks and drinks at the front desk.

I live far up north and it's now my favorite little spot to pop in and rest in Seattle when I shouldn't be on the roads too late.

Both times they were super accommodating with my room requests and gave me quiet rooms.

Both times the rooms were very clean, which is VERY important to me. They seem to be taking COVID seriously. Everyone of the staff has always been masked when I see them. Housekeeping was masked when I saw them.

They also have hand sanitizer stations outside of the elevator on each floor (which I really appreciate as a healthcare worker)

You can find street parking in the area for cheaper/free. Sometimes lucky right out front or just around the block, but there are several pay lots right next door and across the street both times with lots of available spots. They range $20-$40 for 24 hrs.

The complimentary beer on tap at check-in was a cute touch and much enjoyed.

Overall very pleased with the value and stay.

I stayed at Hotel Max for three nights while in town for a conference, and had a very pleasant stay. The lobby is a lively, sleek place with a working fireplace and several sofas, as well as complimentary water and gum balls for The Gum Wall. The staff were super friendly and welcomed me when I arrived at the hotel a couple of hours before the official checkin window (4:00 PM); they checked me in and held my bags for free until my room was ready. They have complimentary WiFi, which I appreciated. My room was on the smaller size, but still had everything I needed: a comfortable bed, a decently-sized desk, and a working bathroom (which was also on the smaller size, but still serviceable). Between the sleek designs and the younger, friendly staff, this whole hotel feels like it's for a social crowd, which I enjoyed. The elevators require a room key to go up from the lobby, which I thought was a good safety measure. I think this hotel offers parking (you need to pay for it), but since I didn't bring a car, I can't say how nice the garage was. However, this hotel is in a very walkable part of downtown Seattle, so you won't really need your car anyway while staying here.

I will say that the walls were a bit thin, so I could sometimes hear my neighbors talking. Nothing scandalous, but if you want complete silence while in your room, you should mention it to the staff to see if they can accommodate you. There wasn't complimentary breakfast, but there are plenty of coffeeshops and other restaurants within walking distance, and Pike Place Market is only a 5-10 minute walk away. If you want a spacious, luxurious hotel, this might not be the best place for you, but if you want a hotel with friendly people and good service, then I would recommend staying here.

We stayed here for 4 nights. Rooms are small but clean and well appointed. Our room faced the air shaft/ alley, so no view but it was quiet--even being next to the elevator. My son's room room faced the street and he said it too was quiet. You get a free beer when you check in. Other than that, no free extras (breakfast, pool, etc). Rooms do have a small refrigerator. No maid service cuz that's how the post-COVID world runs, but they have a texting system that will get you additional towels, shampoo, etc. However, I think that system is also short staffed, so we just ended up going down to the front desk and asking for it. No problem. If you want a clean, quiet room close to tourist stuff, this is a good place.

I was supposed to stay here for an event, but the event got postponed (and eventually cancelled) because of the pandemic. You can imagine my disappointment, because I was very much looking forward to staying here! I had already sent some things ahead of my arrival before it was cancelled, and the hotel kept everything very safe and secure for me, even doing everything they could to coordinate with me on getting my items back via courier and with respect for hygiene and safety. They were incredibly generous, the level of kindness and service was outstanding. I can confidently say I'll be staying here the next time I'm due in Seattle (sans pandemic, of course!). Could not recommend enough.

We were greeted warmly as we checked into Hotel Max with our dogs and cat. We were able to upgrade our room seamlessly, and got a spot on the 5th floor, which was decorated in Seattle-appropriate music swag…including a vinyl record player! Our pets were comfortable, as were we! We thought the bed was super comfortable, loved the location of the hotel, and enjoyed the perks of free beer and coffee. We would come back to stay at Hotel Max in a heartbeat on our next trip to Seattle!

The property was in an excellent location close to Pike Market (10
Min walk) and the area felt safe.
Beds were comfy and it was clean but It's an old hotel with thin windows so lots of traffic noise and we could hear our loud neighbours. If you’re a light sleeper this might be an issue for you. The corner, superior room we had was a decent size but the amenities are bare bones! there wasn't even a cup in the room for water/brushing your teeth etc. We asked and were given paper cups; however, they were able to locate a corkscrew for our wine and some wineglasses. No bathrobes as advertised on their website, not that I needed one but it makes it sound more upscale than it is. We had to ask about our food credit as reception didn’t mention it which we used to buy a few snacks and soda water from reception because there isn’t any other food to apply the credit to. We also had an extra charge on our visa which the Manager quickly rectified but if you stay here double check your charges. The craft beer was a nice touch but didn’t really make up for the low budget hotel feeling. For the price and the cost of parking I would definitely try another hotel next time.

This hotel is nothing to write home about and I don't quite get all the rave reviews. The room is small and the bathroom tiny. There is a shelf above the sink and toilet for your necessities, but it is so narrow it barely holds anything. There is one hook on the door of the bathroom but other than that, the only place to hang wet towels is over the shower rod.

There is no in-room coffee, but they do have coffee in the lobby every morning.

No restaurant on premise (there used to be and I thought it was still open), however there is a fabulous deli down the block that we would get breakfast sandwiches from.

If you want your room serviced, you need to request it in advance, there is no daily maid service right now. We nabbed some more bath towels from a cart that happened to be in the hallway.

The heat is via an in-window unit that we kept on constantly, but I prefer the white noise when I sleep so it didn't bother me much.

I would say the most outstanding thing about the room is the bed. It was really comfy and firm with good quality sheets and duvet.

We got a great rate because of the time of year (I presume), so I feel as though it was priced right for the quality of room and amenities. It just didn't blow me away with anything special.

Thank you for your feedback! With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we have shifted how we present our services. We do hope to return to a time where we will have our coffee makers make a return to the guest rooms soon. In the meantime, we do have coffee available in the lobby every morning. Sadly, we are without a restaurant at the moment, but with hopes of having a new one in 2022. Our rooms are on the cozy side and we happily embrace the size. We pride ourselves on providing all necessitates while bringing a great rock and roll charm to the hotel. Our beds are amazing! Also they're on the newer side.

This is a fun funky hotel with amazingly helpful friendly staff. I was supposed to Propose to my partner at an event that got rained out and had to come up with a whole new plan last minute. Kendra contacted me a day before my reservation and when I explained my situation they had flowers and moscato (my partner won’t drink it unless it’s cavity inducing 😐) waiting when we arrived. Oh and he said Yes
🙌🏼😏💍👨🏼‍🤝‍👨🏻

They will go out of their way to help you have a great stay. This is a very old building so the rooms are smaller than more modern hotels but what it lacks in square footage it makes up for in character location and Charm. They even have a glass of wine or beer (or coffee or tea) ready on the house when you check-in. Thanks for all your terrific hospitality and for turning what could have been a catastrophe into a night we will always remember. I appreciate you

Westlake station on the light rail. About 3 dollars from the airport. Uber - depends in the time of day - from 30 to 45 dollars. If you take the rail, exit the Nordstrom side. A few steps around the corner up stairs and head north block and 1/2 then west a block or so.
