Albeit, I haven't stayed since the late 90s, but what a major change! This hotel used to be the best little boutique hotel in Seattle--actually, on the West Coast! They had The Hunt Club restaurant and bar; they had a first-class shuttle; they had a concierge; they had bellhops. Now. Nada, zilch, zero, goose egg.. It's just an okay, nice hotel that's not worth the price. I mourn what's been lost.

Room super clean, bed firm and confortable. 10 minute walk and or Uber to more restaurants. Nice courtyard and bar. We would have preferred place with pool but fine. Close to space needle and pike fish market and pubs.

we recently stayed at the hotel sorrento, and I am sad to say it was disappointing. I've stayed at this hotel 3-4 times before, over the past 15 years. Unfortunately, the hotel just has not been well maintained. It smells musty and feels run down. It feels like they put new paint and some surface level updates, but it seems worn and tired. The staff was kind, the valet in particular had great hustle despite being busy. all things considered, I would not stay here again. Just not worth the money, there are better options.

I really struggle to understand the high ratings given to this hotel. I travel at least 3-4 times a month and stay in all types of hotels for work and for fun, but this has to be one of the worst hotels I have stayed in to date - especially for the price. I booked a queen room through the preferred rate our business partner negotiated, so the total cost per night including all fees was about $300. Not cheap, but lower than most hotels in the area for a midweek stay. I arrived very early and the front desk was kind enough to find a room available. I took the VERY sketchy and small elevator to the 4th floor to find the room backed up to said elevator. First red flag. I opened the door and found an extremely small room (maybe 15x17?) with barely enough room to walk around the bed, which also backed up to the elevator wall. Then I heard and noticed the multiple pipes and conduit running through the back of the room near the window. Constant sounds of rushing water in the filthy, dusty pipes running across the ceiling as well as behind the A/C unit. It was disgusting! I returned to the front desk, thanked him for trying to get me in early, but said I would wait for a room that was clean and not so noisy. He agreed and said, “Yeah, the rooms at the back of the hotel are like that.” I waited about an hour for a new room, this time on the 5th floor and facing the front courtyard. First, it was right next to service closet, so I heard housekeeping banging around early in the morning and in the afternoon. This room was almost directly across from the elevator, so lots of foot traffic. Once through the door, the entry les to a dark hallway. Fine. It’s a very old hotel. Next, I noticed the walls were not plumb. As in bending back on themselves in the corner and crooked crown moulding. Again, old hotel. I settled in and as I sat on the bed, I started to realize the room wreaked of chemicals, like bleach. My eyes and throat were burning so I opened the windows. Bad idea since there are no screens. After about 10 minutes, there were 10-15 flies in my room and I could not get them out. I then started to realize why the walls were not plumb. The entire floor of this room is caving in towards the center of the hotel! While standing near the window, I looked down a slope towards the bathroom that was maybe 15 feet away! To test my theory, I placed a lip gloss on the desk (more about the desk later) and the lip gloss rolled, very rapidly, across the desk and fell off. I recorded this for my family as it was actually quite funny. I “measured” the height of the left side of the bed as compared to the right and it dropped by at least 4 inches across the bottom of a queen bed! Same for the small dresser - total slope and it was visible to the naked eye. There are ripples in the walls from the obvious buckling and the floor gives far too much in certain spots. It was unsettling. My coworker apparently got upgraded to a bigger room with a sitting area, but all four of us in four different rooms said the same things about the floors. Lots of uneven spots and noise when walking. Again - old hotel. There was also visible water damage to the ceiling and walls that had been repaired, but clearly, there are issues. One of the spots had been sawed open and repaired. They did their best, but again, this hotel likely needs some work on the structure. The electrical was a bit sketchy as well, with one light completely unusable because when turned on, it flickered like a strobe. The aforementioned desk looked like it had been to hell and back. Maybe they picked it up on the corner? All - and I mean ALL - scratched up and just hideous. It honestly looked like junk. The elevator was an adventure in that you just hoped and prayed it would make it to and from your floor each time you stepped inside. It is very small, the doors screech when opening and closing, and the whole thing creaks, crackles, and moans as it goes up and down. I said a more than a few Our Fathers. There was loud construction in the street all day, but it didn’t bother me. Felt like NYC. There is also a hospital across the way so you will hear sirens at all hours. Truly, this was no big deal for me and I wouldn’t let this deter you. The bathroom was absolutely spotless. Small shower/tub, very small space for the toilet and sink, but housekeeping does good work in that regard. The bed was extremely comfortable. Soft sheets and three pillows, though one had minor stains. The bar downstairs serves excellent food and drinks. Fantastic servers. The restaurant was closed down after the first night, but there are plenty of places nearby. Upon checkout, the young lady at the front desk asked the obligatory “How was your stay?” question. I shared my disappointment and she apologized and said she would email my receipt. I didn’t ask for anything, but wanted them to know I was less than impressed. It looks like they credited about $25/night of the fees, which was very kind and unnecessary. The hotel is what it is. I just wish the previous reviews had prepared me for the rickety nature of this place as it would have made a difference in where I stayed.

We were in a king suite on the 6th floor. Only 1 of 2 room air conditioners worked. Not a deal breaker. Then the ONLY elevator broke, then broke again and again. We walked up and down 6 flights, passing people dragging suitcases and huffing and puffing…wait, that was us. We carried a wedding dress and veil up 3 flights and others made numerous trips up and down. The staff had NO sense of urgency and told us more than once they have to climb the stairs too. We heard of one person falling. This was our first and last stay at the Sorrento.

Room Tip: The valet parking was expensive but they did a good job considering the layout of the driveway.

We needed to spend the night in Seattle due to appointments. The Sorrento staff could not have been more accommodating. Everyone was willing to do whatever they could to make our stay stress free. We did eat in Stella's, and while the food was fine, the gentleman who helped us and served us was very informative and helpful. Thank you Sorrento! * We did arrive and leave via Amtrak ... the fare was @$10 each way.

My daughter and I stayed at the Hotel for one week in January. It was not a trip either of us wanted to take. My husband had a life threatening accident in Montana, was life flighted to Seattle for surgery. We needed a hotel in close proximity to the hospital. Upon arrival to the hotel I was discombobulated, but entire staff was not only very accommodating they were compassionate too. The room was clean and neat. The hotel has a charm of a bygone era, it was a pleasure to stay there.

The bartender that served us while attempting to get a glass of wine upon our arrival at the hotel was dismissive and unprofessional. Other staff in the hotel were on the other hand were all friendly, helpful and professional. We won’t be returning here on account of the negative attitude we received at the bar. Rooms also quite noisy.

Stayed here at the end of December to be close to the hospital after my father's surgery. Due to the snow and freezing temperatures, there was not enough staff reporting to work to open the restaurant. We were disappointed, as that was one of the reasons we chose this specific hotel, but we also understood that the extreme weather had thrown a wrench in things. We were also informed that there was an issue with the heat (from the extremely cold weather), but maintenance was working on it. They did provide us with a space heater to assist in heating the room, but the room was still on the cold side. Other than those two items, everything else was perfect. The hotel is beautiful and full of history. The woodwork in the lounge and fireplace area is breathtaking. The staff provided amazing, friendly, courteous customer service - especially the valet staff. The beds had crisp, clean, white linens with multiple pillows and were very comfortable. I also liked the high end toiletries that were provided. The location of the hotel was ideal. Walkable to many restaurants, services and the downtown area. I would definitely stay at this hotel again, and look forward to trying the restaurant when it is open on my next stay.
